Are the 'Palestinians' committed to peace?

Obviously the answer is no.

Let's go to the videotape.

Wealth causes terrorism?

Moadim l'Simcha, a Happy Holiday to all of you.

The 19-year old terrorist who blew up a Jerusalem bus last Monday did not come from an impoverished home. In fact, he lived a life of privilege, much like the Saudi 9/11 terrorists. And that worries the Israeli authorities.
His uncles are prosperous merchants. He did not grow up in a refugee camp. He went on shopping trips to Jordan.
But the cover photo on his Facebook page includes the image of Yahya Ayyash, a.k.a. “The Engineer,” the chief bombmaker for Hamas, who likely was killed by an exploding mobile phone planted by Israeli agents in 1996.
On Monday afternoon, 19-year-old Abdel Hamid Abu Srour boarded the Egged No. 12 bus and placed a package between his legs. His uncles think that it might have been his first visit to Jerusalem.
His seat was above the vehicle’s gas tanks, according to Israeli news media. His relatives scoffed at the idea that Abu Scour would know how to make a bomb himself.
His high school grades were poor enough that he wanted to retake subjects and redo his exams.
Who gave him the bomb and how it was detonated is the object of a fast-moving investigation.
Hamas claimed that Abu Srour was a member of the Islamist militant movement, although the Gaza-based terrorist group did not assert direct responsibility for the bombing.
Israeli police announced Thursday that they had arrested several members of a Hamas cell in Bethlehem tied to the case.
The 'Palestinian Authority' tried to portray Abu Srour as a poor 'refugee.' But that's yet another lie.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health described Abu Srour as a resident of the Aida refugee camp, a tough, politicized neighbourhood of tight, twisting alleys where the walls are painted with murals of the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and covered with the faded posters of dead teenagers hailed as martyrs, killed either attacking Israelis or in clashes with Israeli troops.
But his relatives said Abu Srour was more of a Palestinian preppy, the scion of a well-to-do and well-known clan of eight prosperous brothers, who own and operate a string of furniture outlets and are rich enough to take their young sons for holidays in Jordan and to set them up with their own shops selling clothes.
“We are financially comfortable, you could say very comfortable,” said his uncle Mahmoud Abu Srour, who was gathered with relatives in a courtyard at a family house in Bethlehem awaiting the return of his nephew’s body so they could bury him.
Abu Scour’s teenage cousins listened to their uncles speak but kept silent. They wore pricey watches, skinny jeans and fancy sneakers.
Abu Srour’s father declined to speak on the record. He was exhausted, he said. His family said his DNA was used to identify his son. He said the body was unrecognizable to him.
Earlier in the day, the father denied in an interview with Reuters that his son had any connection to Hamas, which had announced Wednesday that Abu Scour was the bomber and that he was an affiliate of the group.
“I never thought my son would do such an act,” the father said. “My son did not make me feel, even for 1 per cent, that he has feelings or thoughts like that. Never.”
But Abu Srour apparently WAS connected to Hamas and his family didn't totally discourage terrorism. It just tried to keep their children safe.
But on his Facebook page, there is a photo Abu Srour with a Hamas flag. Israeli news media also reported that before he died, Abu Srour had given his mother a photograph of himself wearing a Hamas scarf. The Jerusalem Post reported that Abu Srour’s relatives gave out sweets on the street to celebrate his martyrdom in the bomb blast.
And of course, the family is blaming the victim - Israel.

As if we're the ones who are ambivalent or worse about our children's involvement in terrorism....

#ThanksObama Iran-financed Hamas produces 'music video' about yearning to roast Jewish flesh

Yes, it's come to this.

Here's a highly professional Hamas 'music video,' undoubtedly paid for with Iranian funds released from international sanctions thanks to the Obama administration, that expresses the terror group's yearning to roast Jewish flesh.

Hamas prays: 'Oh Martyrdom-seeker, make them cry. Make the fire engulf them. Turn them into body parts, roast them, bringing joy to the hearts of the steadfast people.'

Let's go to the videotape.

#ThanksObama for financing this music video we just could not have done without.

Car bomb at Maaleh Adumim checkpoint was meant to be suicide attack in Jerusalem

I've been offline the entire weekend, because I have not had my own computer since last Tuesday and have not been able to coordinate enough time on Mrs. Carl's computer to work and blog. I'm now using a borrowed computer, but have hopes of getting mine back tonight or tomorrrow morning.

This morning, a 31-year old 'Palestinian' woman (trying to preserve family honor?) became a splodydope at the checkpoint between Maaleh Adumim and Jerusalem. Here's Jerusalem police commander Mickey Rosenfeld.
Jebel Mukaber is a neighborhood in Jerusalem that has produed a number of terrorists.

But here's what she really wanted to do.
And here's the 'lightly injured' (yes, that's how the authorities classifed this) hero who stopped her:
In the meantime, bli ayin hara (warding off evil eyes), it's been (relatively) quiet in Jerusalem today after two more stabbing attacks on Saturday.

Brutal IDF troops give 'Palestinian' kids.. their lunches

IDF troops caught two 'Palestinian' children rummaging through garbage on Sunday... and gave them their lunches.
"After talking to our friends, it was clear to us we couldn't let those kids keep looking through dumpsters for food, while we had extra food," the corporal said.

Normally, IDF soldiers meet Palestinian children when they riot, throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at the troops. But after hearing the kids' plea: "We're hungry, we have no food at home and we're looking in dumpsters for something to eat," the paratroopers decided to give them a loaf of bread, meatballs, fruit, vegetables, hummus and snacks they had bought for themselves.

"One of the children told me he already searched through all of the dumpsters around. I told them to wait a few minutes until I got back," the soldier said. "We went out to them and sent them on their way with food and drink."
Before meeting the children, Corporal Oren wrote on his Facebook page that the pillbox he was stationed at was pelted with stones. "We were preparing to disperse the crowd, which was continuing the massive stones onslaught against us. I was preparing one of the crowd dispersal measures we had," he wrote. "At that moment, my sergeant noticed a little girl standing outside her house, between us and the rioters. He told me to cease fire and that I wasn't to fire until we made sure the girl is safe inside her home. During that time we were exposed to the stone throwers and were hit a lot and hard, but at no point did we even think to do anything while innocent children could get hurt."
He went on to say: "I hope the two stories I told you - as someone who is out on the field experiencing things without mediation - helped paint a certain picture of what soldiers deal with every day. Next time you hear someone in Israel or abroad slamming the IDF, saying we're not a moral army, you're welcome to send them my way."
This is not exactly a safe thing to do. In the past, the 'Palestinians' have used children to hide adults and even occasionally as suicide bombers.

Egyptian TV hostess: Suicide bombings okay so long as they only kill Joooz

Greetings from somewhere in Europe where the sun is staring at me through a picture window. No, not the Riviera. Would you believe London-Heathrow? I should be back in Israel later today, God willing.

Here's an Egyptian TV hostess who thinks it's okay to have suicide bombers - so long as they only kill Jews.

Let's go to the videotape.

Who is Mohammed Deif and why does Israel want him dead?

For those who don't know yet why Israel is so anxious to see Mohammed Deif dead.
Deif was behind the kidnappings and murders of Israeli soldiers Shahar Simani in April 1994 and Aryeh Frankenthal in July 1994. In October 1994 he played a major role in running the terror cell that kidnapped and murdered Israeli soldier Nachshon Wachsman: He handed the orders to the cell that held Wachsman in a safe house in the village of Bir Naballah near Jerusalem.
Deif was also involved in the bus bombings that took place during that time. The assassination of Ayyash in December 1995 intensified his desire for revenge. Shortly afterward, Shimon Peres, who was prime minister at the time, and Moshe Ya’alon, the head of the army’s Intelligence Directorate, met with Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat. Ya’alon warned Arafat about Deif’s plans and demanded that the PA act decisively against Hamas. Arafat disregarded Ya’alon’s warning, asking Dahlan, “Mohammed, who’s that?”
The Israelis were furious. Officials of the army’s Intelligence Directorate and the Shin Bet security service knew perfectly well that Dahlan had met with Deif shortly before. In the past, Ya’alon cited that meeting as the point when he finally woke up regarding Arafat’s intentions.
Less than two months later, in February 1996, Deif was behind a week of deadly bus bombings in Jerusalem and Ashkelon in which about 50 Israelis were killed. (Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip took responsibility for one of the bus bombings.)
That was the sign for a last-ditch Palestinian attempt to suppress Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The PA arrested hundreds of Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives, including Deif, who spent the following years in and out of prison. Some of the prisoners had half of their beards shaved off to humiliate them. But Deif continued his work from prison in Gaza, and was even released at times by the PA.
Israeli officials accused him of involvement in various attempted terror attacks, including sending five suicide terrorists into Israel in March 2000. Police officers of Yamam, the civilian counter-terrorism unit, killed the five would-be attackers in Taibeh in the Triangle, an area of Israeli Arab towns and villages located between the center of the country and the Haifa region.
The PA released Deif from prison, this time for good, in April 2001, together with dozens of Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives. These were the “engineers” who were behind the wave of bombing attacks that took place over the next several months. Most of them, mainly those who lived in the West Bank, were eliminated by Israel.
Deif resumed his natural place in Hamas, subordinate to Shehadeh (who had been released from an Israeli prison in 2000). He established a relatively secret, independent group of his own within Hamas’s military wing to carry out terror attacks. This group’s members, who were under his direct command, specialized in missions that it defined as “high-quality attacks,” such as the series of attacks on Elei Sinai and Dugit in the northern Gaza Strip, in which three Israelis were killed.
An indictment submitted to the military court at the Erez border crossing in 2000 charged Deif with direct involvement in planning severe terror attacks in the Gaza Strip. According to the indictment, Deif was behind the terror attack on the pre-army academy in Atzmona in Gush Katif in March 2000, killing five of the students there. He also issued orders, directed the operations personally and was involved to the last detail in “routine” terror attacks, even preparing the explosive device himself in one case. In other cases, he taught operatives how to prepare explosive devices.
Read the whole thing. We have too many reasons to want Deif dead. Hopefully, if it did not happen last night, it will happen soon.

They should have been buried at sea wrapped in pigskin a long time ago

They should have been buried at sea, wrapped in pigskins (and fed to sharks) a long time ago. Instead, 'Palestinian' media are reporting that Israel is to return the bodies of two 'Palestinian' suicide bombers from the last decade for heroes' burials.
According to Israel Radio, the Palestinians anticipate that Israel will transfer the remains of Fatah operative Ayat al-Akhras, the woman who set off an explosive device attached to her body as she stood at the entrance to a supermarket in the Kiryat Hayovel neighborhood of Jerusalem on March 29, 2002. Three Israelis were killed in the attack.
Israel will also hand over the body of Islamic Jihad terrorist Daoud Abu Sway, the young Palestinian who detonated explosives attached to his body as he was standing near the David Citadel hotel in Jerusalem on December 5, 2001. Three bystanders were wounded in the attack.
Israel's government really needs its collective heads examined.

London's Saint James Church makes 'replica wall' in Picadilly Circus

Picadilly Circus is one of London's most visible locations. Saint James Church, which is located in the area, has created a 'replica wall' (can you guess which wall) right in the center of the Circus.

Let's go to the videotape (stay with me after the video).

British Oleh (immigrant) Michael Dickson has written an open letter to the church's pastor.
Dear Pastor Winkett and St. James Church staff,
What a mean-spirited, one-sided and divisive stunt you chose to politicise your church with this Christmas.
In an ideal world there would be no walls.
In an ideal world there would also be no suicide bombers – radical Islamist Palestinians who hate the Jews that live close to them so much that they are willing to indiscriminately kill them and others – be it in a shopping centre, disco, pizza restaurant or if they are sitting at their Passover Seder.
Be in no doubt that Israel built a security barrier only after enduring a wave of horrific terrorism that left thousands dead and maimed for life.
Your completely partial representation of the situation negates their loss of life and shows gross insensitivity to their families – and by extension to all Israelis and the Jewish community in the UK, none of whom were untouched by these murders.
Be in no doubt also that the only reason that this vicious terrorism has died down is not because the extremists stopped trying, but because they are prevented to get to their intended victims.
That includes, by the way, me and my children.
We are Brits who moved to Israel. We are only safe because we have security on our buses (an attempted bombing took place last week), our schools and public places.
...

Ask yourself this: if you lived in Israel and you knew that mere miles away from you there were people who wanted to blow up your family, or slaughter them in their beds as with the Fogel Family massacre – what would YOU do? As peace-loving as you or I may be, if you are honest you would consider that to protect your family, you would want your government to build a wall. And if they didn’t you might want to build one yourself.
I desperately want peace. I need peace, because I live here in Israel.
Therefore I educate my kids to want and pursue peace.
I wish that Palestinian children – who watch anti-Jewish rhetoric daily on Palestinian Authority-controlled TV – will be taught the same. Those children deserve more than the leadership they have and the terrorists and Islamists that are in their midst.
 Read the whole thing.

Wulz family: Netanyahu's office promised

The family of 16-year old terror victim Daniel Wulz HY"D (May God Avenge his blood) has accused the Prime Minister of reneging on a commitment made by his office to allow a Mossad agent to testify against the Bank of China in a terror financing case. Wulz died several weeks after being critically injured in a suicide bombing in April 2006. This is from the second link.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu promised a terror victim's family, through a telephone call from Jordana Cutler of his office, that he would allow former government agent Uzi Shaya to testify against the Bank of China in a major US terror financing case, according to a response filed by the family's lawyers on Tuesday.
The response said that the telephone call was from Cutler in Israel to the parents of terror victim Daniel Wulz in Florida in April 1, 2012.
Also, on May 14, 2012, then Israeli Ambassador to the US Michael Oren called US Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen to confirm that Shaya would testify - all of this after Ros-Lehtinen had personally delivered Netanyahu a letter from the Wultz family in March 2012, said the response.
...
Shaya's testimony was planned to be a major part of the terror victims families' case against the bank.
More specifically, he was due to testify about Israeli warnings to China that the bank was being used to fund attacks on civilians in Israel.
...
The Wultz's also discussed personal communications in which they say they were encouraged to pursue the case by senior Israeli government and intelligence officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Mossad chief Meir Dagan, former National Security Council head Yaacov Amidror and Shaya himself.
In addition, the response says that the government actively participated in preparing Shaya to be deposed in the case, including by arranging a face-to-face meeting between Daniel Wultz's father, Yekutiel (Tuly) Wultz, and Shaya.
It continued stating that the government directed Shaya to "review government files, instructed Shaya to meet with senior government lawyers, and prepared a letter that set the government's ground rules for Shaya’s testimony."
Further, the response says that the government provided the Wultzes bank account numbers and details about how money was being laundered for Palestinian terrorists through the bank.
Most importantly, says the response, the government disclosed "the content of discussions between Israeli officials and officials of the People’s Republic of China" which made filing the case possible.
In related developments, Shurat Hadin, an NGO representing 22 families of victims in a parallel case, demanded the depositions of Israeli Ambassador to China Matan Vil'nai and Amidror.
Arutz Sheva adds:
The brief filed Tuesday by David Boies, lead attorney for the Wultzes, states "the State of Israel should not be allowed to sabotage a case, which it set in motion in the courts of the United States to advance its own national agenda, by using the expansive pretense of national security – an interest that it has never previously raised during the five-year pendency of this lawsuit, or in any similar case."
Much more than that, Mr. Boies (whose name I recognize from my days practicing law in New York in the 80's and early 90's). The State of Israel should not be trying to block victims of terror attacks in Israel from seeking justice through American courts whether or not the State of Israel had a role in setting the case in motion. We're just plain taking the wrong side in this case.  And it's shameful. Downright shameful.

Checkpoints: The price for peace

This is a great video about the checkpoints between Israel and the 'Palestinian' populated areas of Judea and Samaria. The checkpoints actually first started around 1993-94, and have gotten more imposing since.

Let's go to the videotape.

Kerry: Rich people like me don't engage in terrorism

When this post goes up, it will automatically trigger my 30,000th tweet.

If you needed any more proof that US Secretary of State John FN Kerry is moron, you have it tonight. Here's what Kerry said on Monday (Hat Tip: Memeorandum).

Let's go to the videotape.

But alongside the ideological issue Kerry also raised the notion of economic factors.
“Getting this right isn’t just about taking terrorists off the street,” he said. “It’s about providing more economic opportunities for marginalized youth at risk of recruitment. In country after country, you look at the demographics – Egypt, the West Bank – 60 percent of the young people either under the age of 30 or under the age of 25, 50 percent under the age of 21, 40 percent under the age of 18, all of them wanting jobs, opportunity, education, and a future.”
Researchers have noted that some of the most prominent jihadist terrorists over the past decade or more, far from being driven by desperation and a lack of economic opportunity, are educated members of their societies.
Osama bin Laden was the son of a billionaire businessman, Ayman al-Zawahiri is a physician and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has an engineering degree.
A similar pattern was evident in south-east Asia, where key members of the al-Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiah (JI) terror network were well-educated men.
Tell it to the 19 Saudi hijackers who took part in 9/11. Tell it to the 'Israeli Arab' lawyer who blew herself up in a Haifa restaurant a year later. Engaging in terrorism has nothing to do with one's wealth. It has to do with one's fervor for Islam.

John FN Kerry.... What a moron....

10 years ago tonight

10 years ago tonight on the Jewish calendar, a 'Palestinian' suicide bomber walked into Cafe Hillel in Jerusalem, murdering seven people, including Dr. David Appelbaum and his daughter Nava HY"D (May God Avenge her blood). Nava was to have been married the next night (Hat Tip: Gershon D).
Slightly less than two years ago, Palestinian Authority terrorist Ibrahim Muhammad Yunus Dar Musa, who helped plan the gruesome murders, was among more than 1,000 terrorists and security prisoners whose prison sentences were cut short in order to enable the safe return of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit. Dar Musa was sentenced to only 17 years in jail for organizing the suicide bombing.

Dr. Applebaum, a native of Detroit and an ordained rabbi, headed a hospital emergency room and had developed new methods for treating suicide bombing victims. He was walking into Jerusalem’s Hillel restaurant with his 20-year-old daughter, born in Cleveland, when the suicide bomber detonated his explosives.

...

The security guard at the restaurant, warned by intelligence officials of a possible terrorist attack, spotted the suicide bomber but did not want to shoot him in the back, fearing that the bullet would set off the bomb.
I admit that I don't recall hearing that last paragraph before.

China pressuring Israel to drop support for Wultz family lawsuit

I'm sure many of you also recall the murder of 16-year old American Daniel Wultz from Florida (pictured, top left) HY"D (may God avenge his blood) in a Tel Aviv suicide bombing in April 2006, while he and his father were visiting for Passover. You may recall that a 'Palestinian' terror leader referred to Wultz as "the best target we can dream of."

In May of 2012, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia awarded Wultz's parents and siblings $332 million from Iran and Syria for providing material support to the Islamic Jihad suicide bomber who carried out the attack.
Daniel’s father Yekutiel “Tuly” Wultz, who was seriously wounded in the attack; his mother, Sheryl; and his siblings Amanda and Abraham brought the civil lawsuit in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, under powerful US anti-terrorism laws that permit American civilians to sue sovereign states who sponsor acts of terror.
Via their lawyers – New York attorney Robert Tolchin and Tel Aviv attorney Nitsana Darshan- Leitner – the Wultz family alleged that the Syrian and Iranian governments, both of which the US has designated as state sponsors of terrorism, provided Islamic Jihad with the material support and resources it needed to carry out the deadly attack.

The court learned that Daniel had been conscious immediately after the bombing and up until his death, and had suffered extreme physical and emotional pain both because he knew the horrific extent of his injuries and because he was aware he would die from them.
The 16-year-old suffered wounds including severe bleeding from multiple shrapnel wounds, a perforated bowel and multiple infections, including gangrene.
In their fight to save his life, surgeons at Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital removed several of Daniel’s organs, and amputated two fingers and part of his right leg, but the teenager succumbed to his injuries and died on May 14, 2006.
His father, who was sitting with Daniel at the time of the bombing, endured extensive physical injuries as well as severe psychological damage. He still suffers pain and post-traumatic stress disorder, including terrifying nightmares and daily flashbacks of the attack.
The other members of the Wultz family, including Daniel’s mother, suffered serious psychological and emotional damage as a result of the bombing.
In addition to Iran and Syria, the Wultz family’s lawsuit named as defendants the Iranian Ministry of Information and Security, the Syrian Ministry of Defense, Syrian Military Intelligence and the Syrian Air Force Intelligence Directorate.
Wultz's parents have also filed a lawsuit in New York, which claims that the Bank of China enabled Islamic Jihad to fund the attack. The key witness in the case is a former Israeli intelligence officer. The Wall Street Journal (to which I do not have access) reported on Friday that the Chinese government is pressing Prime Minister Netanyahu not to let the intelligence officer testify.
Wultz's parents are now suing the Bank of China for its alleged part in the attack, a lawsuit which hinges on the testimony of a former Israeli intelligence official, scheduled to testify in a New York federal court in July.
The Wall Street Journal quoted the plaintiffs as saying the official is expected to testify that at a 2005 meeting, Israeli officials told China that Bank of China accounts were being used to fund terror groups including the Islamic Jihad, but they refused to close the accounts.
The Wultzes, however, are saying that China is pressuring Netanyahu not to allow the former Israel intelligence official to testify, amid growing trade with China, worth billions of dollars annually to the Israeli economy.
The paper cited a congressional staffer who has coordinated between the Wultzes and the Israeli government as saying the Prime Minister's Office is now undecided about giving the former intelligence official permission to testify, despite previous commitments to do so.
US Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen wrote a letter to Netanyahu this week on behalf of the Wultzes, imploring Netanyahu to allow the official to testify, according to the Journal.
"We are aware of mounting pressure by the BOC and other Chinese interests…to interfere with the US proceedings and the deposition," she wrote, adding that by allowing the official to testify, Netanyahu would " reaffirm Israel's solemn commitment to the victims of terror to ensure that justice be done."
Hmmm.

Hamas asking EU to take it off the terror list

This is not a parody.

Hamas is asking the European Union to take it off the designated terror group list. And they're asking the Europeans and not the Americans, because they figure that the Americans are not that stupid.
"European countries set only one condition to do that - avoiding martyrdom attacks inside Israel, and Hamas hasn’t carried out any attack since 2004," senior Hamas member Ahmed Yousif was quoted in Ma'an as saying.
I guess they figure that firing tens of thousands of rockets from Gaza into Israel doesn't count. And maybe to the Europeans, it doesn't.

'Palestinians' remember Wafa Idris

Last week, the 'Palestinians' remembered Wafa Idris, their first female suicide bomber. Rabbi Pruzansky describes the event and why it should disturb all of us.
On January 28 (last week), Fatah – the ruling junta in the chaos known as the Palestinian Authority – fêted the deceased Wafa Idris, who 11 years ago became the first Arab female suicide bomber to murder Jews in Israel. She was praised as a “beautiful flower,” whose life’s work – so to speak – forced Israel to “revise their security considerations” that had theretofore only guarded against male suicide bombers. Her great achievement involved sneaking into Jerusalem in a Red Cross ambulance while wearing her suicide bomb vest, violating another cardinal precept of civilized society, i.e., not utilizing hospitals, ambulances, schools and children as shields from behind which one perpetrates horrific acts of terror. Of course, the world of Fatah – the “moderates,” as the credulous Western media would have it – and their acolytes are not at all civilized, but readily compete with each other in displays of barbarism and primitivism.
I remember well the Idris suicide bombing, as I was in Israel at the time, and dear friends of mine were seriously injured in the attack. Idris entered a shoe store on Jaffa Road in the heart of Jerusalem, looked around, then left the store, stood outside at a bus stop, and blew herself up. One Jew – an artist – was murdered, and more than 100 people were injured. What sounds prosaic – it happened hundreds of times during that dark period a little more than a decade ago – should be contemplated. Someone purporting to be a human being – presumably with a life to live and a family to love – willfully decided to insinuate herself into a group of complete strangers, who had never harmed her at all, and to end her life along with those of as many victims as she could take with her.
The frequency of such attacks – replicated on an even wider and savage scale in the United States by Muslim Arabs on September 11, 2001, just a few months before the attack herein – should not blind us to what should be a typical, normal reaction of sane, decent human beings: Wafa Idris was demented, but perfectly representative of a demented, diabolical people. The fact that those attacks became commonplace – and still are across the Muslim world – should not obscure their essential heinousness. They are satanic, from a different planet. Even the Nazis – malicious mass murderers – were only interested in murdering Jews, but had no fervent interest in killing themselves in the process.
Can “peace” ever be made with a society that celebrates its murderers as well as the mass homicide of innocent people? Of course not. After World War II, Germany underwent a “denazification” campaign – a systematic attempt to rid Germany and Austria of the sordid political, social, cultural and economic influences of Nazism. The theory was that German society could not be rehabilitated (or trusted) as long as the effects of Nazism lingered in the populace. Within a year, 90,000 Germans – apparently, incurable Nazis – were incarcerated, and almost 2,000,000 others were barred from meaningful employment. The Nazi poison had not yet left their systems, and so they posed a threat to the body politic. Distinctions were made between hard-core Nazis – true believers – and those who were merely followers and could be reformed. The program lasted almost five years and was a mixed success, owing to the difficulty in fully ascertaining the evil that lurks in man’s heart.
Last week, Fatah dutifully reported that Wafa’s mother said that “she is proud of her daughter, and hopes that more girls will follow in her footsteps.” Remember that Fatah is not a fringe group in Arab society, but the governing party in the PA. They are the establishment. They cannot be taken to task for their unfortunate choice of heroines, because they are perfectly reflective of the people who voted them into power. This is the world of Mahmoud Abbas – the designated “partner for peace” – not the world he purports to fight against, which is for Western eyes only. The Nazis must be defeated before they can be denazified.
Read it all.

Hamas to train 7th graders to be suicide bombers

Well, isn't this just what the world needed? Hamas is opening a military academy for 7th-9th graders.
Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh announced Thursday that the new military academy, the first of its kind in the Gaza Strip, would prepare the children for the "phase of liberating Palestine."
He said that children in grades 7-9 could join the academy and graduate with a Diploma or Bachelor of Arts in military affairs.
Haniyeh was speaking during a ceremony in the Gaza Strip marking the birth of Prophet Mohamed.  More than 10,000 schoolchildren attended the ceremony, which included a "military parade" by some of the teenagers.
He said that he has instructed the Hamas-run Ministry of Education to lay plans for the establishment of the military academy.
Haniyeh said that the new academy would educate and prepare children for the establishment of a Palestinian state "from the river to the sea."
 What could go wrong?

The wrong question on suicidal mass killers

In an op-ed comparing other mass murderers to suicide bombers, Adam Lankford asks the wrong question:
I can’t help but wonder about Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold, Seung-Hui Cho and Adam Lanza. If they had been born in Gaza or the West Bank, shaped by terrorist organizations’ hateful propaganda, would they have strapped bombs around their waists and blown themselves up? I’m afraid the answer is yes.
Maybe. But we'd be fooling ourselves if we think that Izz al-Din Shuheil al-Masri, Saeed Hotari or Abdel-Basset Odeh would have become suicide bombers had they lived in a society other than the 'Palestinians,' and that is the more relevant question.

Each of the non-Muslim Americans mentioned by Lankford acted on his own. That is not the case with the 'Palestinians.' This is from a Daniel Pipes piece called Arafat's Suicide Factory.
The system works: Hassan reports that "hordes of young men" clamor to be sent to their own obliteration. Hamas and Islamic Jihad have established a process of selection based in the mosques, where "a notably zealous youth" ready for martyrdom gets noted by clerics who recommend him for selection.
Those who make the cut enter a protracted, highly supervised, and disciplined regimen of spiritual studies and military-like training. These adepts are taught to see suicide operations as a way to "open the door to Paradise" for themselves and their families. "I love martyrdom" says one such "living martyr."

Just before setting off on an attack, the men engage in exquisitely pious preparations (ablutions, clean clothing, a communal prayer service). Their deaths are celebrated by Hamas or Islamic Jihad by orchestrating a festive funeral celebration ("as if it were a wedding," Hassan observes) and distributing video cassettes with a statement from beyond the grave. The sponsoring organizations then make sure that the family receives both social kudos and financial rewards.

These facts tell us three things: Militant Islamic suicide killers are not born; they are manufactured. Like the four simultaneous suicide hijackings on Sept. 11, the four nearly simultaneous suicide attacks in Israel last week resulted from long-term planning by sophisticated organizations. They cannot operate clandestinely, but require the permission of a ruling authority, either the Taliban or the PA.
Lankford claims that the mass murderers suffer from mental illnesses. That is not the case with the suicide bombers.
Previous studies have shown that most suicide bombers are religious, young, male, unmarried, and unemployed, with some high school education (Ganor 2000). A study that examined the sociodemographic characteristics of suicide versus non-suicide terrorists revealed significant differences between the two types of terrorists: the mean age of suicide bombers was 24.5 years, they were older than non-suicide terrorists, more suicide bombers than non-suicide terrorists were educated in religious schools, and the percentage of suicide terrorists affiliated with religious fundamentalist organizations was higher than that of non-suicide terrorists (Pedahzur et al. 2003). It  should be noted the sociodemographic characteristics of the suicide bombers (young, unmarried, and unemployed) are congruent with those of suicide bombers in other terrorist organizations such as the “Black Tigers” (LTTE) in Sri Lanka (Gunaratna 2000) and female suicide bombers acting on behalf of the PKK in Turkey (Ergil 2000). Most of the female suicide bombers in Palestinian society are also in their twenties and single. However, in contrast to male suicide bombers, they have a higher level of education than the average population. In fact, some female suicide bombers are graduates of universities or other institutions of higher education (Berko 2004; Yaffeh 2003).
These people are not mentally ill. Many, if not most of them, believe that they are helping their societies.

But perhaps the biggest difference is in the third factor cited by Lankford:
The third factor is the desire to acquire fame and glory through killing. More than 70 percent of murder-suicides are between spouses or romantic or sexual partners, and these crimes usually take place at home. Attackers who commit murder-suicide in public are far more brazen and unusual. Most suicide terrorists believe they will be honored and celebrated as “martyrs” after their deaths and, sure enough, terrorist organizations produce martyrdom videos and memorabilia so that other desperate souls will volunteer to blow themselves up.
But suicide bombing attacks commonly take place in public. Most importantly, in American society, people like Adam Lanza are shunned and scorned, whereas in 'Palestinian' society, suicide bombers are praised and lionized. While Columbine shooter Eric Harris may have "fantasized with his fellow attacker, Dylan Klebold, that the filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Quentin Tarantino would fight over the rights to their life story," among the 'Palestinians' that sort of thing actually happens. While Lanza had to murder his mother to get her weapons, a 'Palestinian' mother is thrilled that her child would become a suicide bomber. Maybe that's why an Adam Lanza is a rarity in the West, while for every 'successful' 'Palestinian' suicide bomber, there are tens, if not hundreds more who are caught before they can do their deed.

Other Muslims share the 'Palestinians' admiration for suicide bombers.  More here.
