Is the 'supreme court' at fault again?

The State of Israel released for burial on Thursday the bodies of the two terrorist cousins who carried out the Har Nof massacre five weeks ago. Although we have not been told who demanded their release and why they were released, the 'supreme court' ordered that the two scumbags be buried in the 'West Bank,' which may mean that the court also ordered their release in the first place. That would be in character.
The Israeli government has been withholding the bodies of cousins Uday and Ghassan Abu Jamal, who were shot dead by police after killing four worshipers and a cop in an attack during morning services on November 18.
Under an Israeli court order, the two terrorists will be buried in the West Bank and not in Jerusalem, where they resided, and only 40 people will be allowed to attend the funeral, the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency reported.
It was not immediately clear why Israel had decided to release the bodies, which it had been holding as a punitive measure.
Nadia Abu Jamal, the widow of slain terrorist Ghassan Abu Jamal, has been ordered deported to Judea and Samaria, and her Jerusalem-born children have been denied health insurance coverage as an inducement for her to leave. We can only hope and pray that Jamal is in fact expelled. In the meantime, demolition orders against the terrorists' homes have been stayed by the 'supreme court' and have not been carried out.

Maan News reports that those present at the funeral were to have been limited to 40 relatives and that the burial was to have taken place within 90 minutes of the bodies having been released. It doesn't look like that happened.

Israel notified the families of Uday and Ghassan Abu Jamal that their bodies must by buried within 90 minutes of being returned at the cemetery of al-Sawahira al-Sharqiyya, lawyer Muhammad Mahmoud told Ma'an.

Only 40 relatives were to be allowed at the funeral, he added.

The family was forced to deposit 20,000 shekels ($5,000) to guarantee they would adhere to the stipulations.

"After they have been laid to rest, we will feel some relief after some very hard days following the martyrdom of Ghassan and Uday," a relative said.

...

Around 300 mourners joined the funeral procession, raising Palestinian flags and chanting patriotic slogans.
Someone please tell me that the government kept the NIS 20,000 and will give them to the families of the terror attack victims.... Somehow, I'm sure that won't be the case.

What kind of society produces such mothers?

In an earlier post, I showed a video of the mother of Amr Abu Aysha, one of the two terrorists behind the kidnapping and murder of Naftali Frenkel, Eyal Yifrach and Gilad Shaar. Aysha's mother, who is not the 'lady' in the picture above (she is the since deceased Umm Nidal, known as the 'mother from hell' during her lifetime), denied that her son was involved, but said that she'd be proud of him if she was. Bret Stephens asks what kind of society produces such mothers?
Here's my question: What kind of society produces such mothers? Whence the women who cheer on their boys to blow themselves up or murder the children of their neighbors?
Well-intentioned Western liberals may prefer not to ask, because at least some of the conceivable answers may upset the comforting cliché that all human beings can relate on some level, whatever the cultural differences. Or they may accuse me of picking a few stray anecdotes and treating them as dispositive, as if I'm the only Western journalist to encounter the unsettling reality of a society sunk into a culture of hate. Or they can claim that I am ignoring the suffering of Palestinian women whose innocent children have died at Israeli hands.
But I'm not ignoring that suffering. To kill innocent people deliberately is odious, to kill them accidentally or "collaterally" is, at a minimum, tragic. I just have yet to meet the Israeli mother who wants to raise her boys to become kidnappers and murderers—and who isn't afraid of saying as much to visiting journalists.
You've also yet to meet the first Israeli mother who is happy when her son dies in battle, even when there is reason to be proud of the circumstances of his death. For example, while there was a lot of pride in what Roi Klein did during the Second Lebanon War, I don't recall hearing from anyone in Israel - family member or otherwise - who was happy about it. Read the whole thing.

Amazing speech by a young 'Palestinian' woman

This was sent to me by Andreas F, a reader in Norway. He writes:
This is truly an amazing speech that was recently held at a Swedish university by a brave young Palestinian woman.  She speaks out against the 'Palestinian Authority' and the Palestinian society in general... And she says she supports the building of the security barrier, even when it created problems for her family. She explains how Palestinian children are taught to attack Israeli soldiers and die in battle.

She takes the hypocrisy head on and explains how twisted parts of the Palestinian society is. Please take the time to watch this... An amazing 25-minute speech. This brave woman had to flee to England because of death threats from 'Palestinians.'
Let's go to the videotape.

Hamas asking EU to take it off the terror list

This is not a parody.

Hamas is asking the European Union to take it off the designated terror group list. And they're asking the Europeans and not the Americans, because they figure that the Americans are not that stupid.
"European countries set only one condition to do that - avoiding martyrdom attacks inside Israel, and Hamas hasn’t carried out any attack since 2004," senior Hamas member Ahmed Yousif was quoted in Ma'an as saying.
I guess they figure that firing tens of thousands of rockets from Gaza into Israel doesn't count. And maybe to the Europeans, it doesn't.

The Mother from Hell: A 'Palestinian' heroine

A few days ago, I reported that the Mother from Hell had finally gone to hell. Incredibly, the New York Times on Wednesday published a puff piece obituary that lauded her.
Ms. Farhat, who was also known as Umm Nidal, had liver and bowel diseases, according to the Web site of the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Hamas movement, which announced her death.
A photograph on the site showed what was said to be Ms. Farhat’s body, wrapped in a Hamas flag, with an automatic weapon lying across it. Thousands of people, including top Hamas officials, attended her funeral on Sunday. The Hamas prime minister, Ismail Haniyeh, spoke at a service in her honor, according to al-Qassam.
Ms. Farhat was elected to the Palestinian Legislative Council in 2006. Four years earlier, her 17-year-old son, Mohammad, was shot to death after he stormed an Israeli settlement with an automatic rifle and explosives, killing five students. Shortly before the attack, Ms. Farhat made a video in which she appeared with Mohammad to show support for what he was about to do.
“I wish I had 100 boys like Mohammad,” she once said. “I’d sacrifice them for the sake of God.”
Two more of Ms. Farhat’s sons, Nidal and Rawad, were later killed in clashes with Israel.
The Times links a video about the Mother from Hell. Let's go to the videotape.

But it's not just Hamas that honors the Mother from Hell. So does 'moderate' 'Palestinian' President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen. Elder of Ziyon comments:
This sick creature is considered a hero worthy of the greatest honor by Israel's supposedly "moderate" peace partner.

Will President Obama address this issue when he meets Abbas in Ramallah? Will he even pass by the mourning tent on his way to the meeting? That would be a photograph that would haunt him.

If he has any sense of morality at all, if the tent is there Obama should turn around and nix the meeting.
It will be an interesting Thursday....

Population control, Gaza style

There's actually some good news coming out of Gaza for a change. Qatar has decided to take Gaza's finances upon itself, at least to some extent. And at least some of the jihadi's are running off to Syria to fight and be killed. This is from the first link.
“The money is flowing into Gaza,” a security source told The Jerusalem Post recently.
The Qatari funds are being used to pay for a series of ambitious construction projects and improving the Strip’s infrastructure, including roads and buildings. This month, a request for a tender was issued by the Hamas regime for a project to improve the Salah Al-Din road, linking central Gaza to Rafah in the south. The works will cost 60 million dollars.
“And that’s just one road,” the source noted.
Giving a Hamas a financial stake in keeping the peace may be just what the doctor ordered.
“This is the test,” the source said. “Will Hamas’s military wing cooperate?” Hamas is still reeling from the damage caused by the Israel Air Force’s attacks on 1,500 terror targets – many of which were hidden in civilian areas.
The terrorist organization is fully aware of the fact that, should it provoke another conflict with Israel, the construction and assistance money will have been a waste.
And while Hamas and Islamic Jihad still wish to turn Gaza into a missile base, many bored terrorists are leaving Gaza to go to Syria, where they can fight and be killed.
Recently, however, there has been an increase in the number of Palestinians who left the Gaza Strip to join the anti- Assad rebel forces, the sources added.
The sources told the Palestinian Al-Quds newspaper that most of the Palestinians who have joined the rebels in Syria were members of radical Salafi and Jihadi groups in the Gaza Strip.
Some of the Palestinians used to belong to Hamas and its armed wing before joining the more radical Islamist groups, according to the sources.
The last two months saw a sharp increase in the number of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip who headed to Syria, while many others have expressed their desire to join the rebels, the sources said.
Abu al-Ayna al-Ansari, a leader of one of the Salafi groups in the Gaza Strip, confirmed that many of his supporters had joined the Syrian rebels. Ansari said that the Palestinians left the Gaza Strip to join the “mujahideen [warriors] of Jabhat al-Nusra, which is fighting against the criminal regime in Syria.”
Established in January 2012, Jabhat al- Nusra was recently designated by the US as a terrorist organization.
Ansari said that all the Palestinians who headed to Syria did so voluntarily. He refused to say whether the men had been sent to Syria as part of pre-planned coordination with the Syrian Free Army.
He pointed out that some of the Palestinian militants who headed to Syria had been previously detained by Hamas authorities in the Gaza Strip.
I can't wait to hear Assad accused of 'massacring' 'Palestinian' jihadis. Heh.

Video: What goes on at a jihadi funeral celebration

Here's a video of a funeral wedding celebration for three 'martyrs' in a Syrian mosque. The women screaming - for those who have never seen it before - is called ululating.

Note that this looks a lot more like a party than like a funeral. In fact, if you hadn't seen the 'martyrs' being carried in, you would have no way of knowing that it wasn't what we would call a party.

Yes, these people really do love death. You can bet that the same thing goes on in Gaza all the time.

Let's go to the videotape (Hat Tip: Will via Look Under the Burkha of Islam).

Video: Children of Jabari's deputy want to be 'martyrs'

Here's a video - shown on Hamas' al-Aqsa television - in which the children of Muhammad al-Homs, who was killed with Hamas military commander Ahmed al-Jabari last Wednesday, tell the world that they want to be 'martyrs' just like their father.

Let's go to the videotape.

But just give them a 'state' and they'll stop behaving like this. Right....

'Israeli Arab' MK calls 'Palestinian' terrorists 'martyrs'

Palestinian Media Watch reports that its YouTube account is up and running again, and that the video which resulted in its being shut down - which showed the Mufti of the 'Palestinian Authority' calling for the murder of Jews on 'Palestinian Authority' official government television, is now once again available.

In the meantime, PMW has posted a video of Knesset Member Ahmad Tibi, a former adviser to Yasser Arafat, speaking to an audience on 'Palestinian' television, and telling them that 'Palestinian' terrorists are 'martyrs.' The video only has Hebrew subtitles, but I have a translation to English courtesy of IMRA, which I am posting below the video.

Let's go to the videotape.

And here's the English translation.
Knesset Member Ahmad Tibi was introduced by the presenter with the following words: "The words of our people in Palestine occupied since 1948."

Tibi: "... my brothers in the Palestinian leadership, I come to you from the other half of the orange to bow my head before the memory of the martyrs and the martyrs' families, and greetings to you ...

In the history of peoples and their struggles the martyr holds the summit of glory. There is no higher value of martyrdom.

The shahid is the path breaker who draws the way with his blood on the road to freedom and liberation. The shahid is the symbol of the homeland ...

Congratulations to the thousands of martyrs in the homeland and in an exile and blessings to ours and your martyrs inside the Green Line - these, who the occupier wants to be referred to as terrorists, and we say that there is nothing higher than those who died for the fatherland. "
Anyone still think this is about the areas liberated by Israel in 1967?

Give the man what he wants

After five years in hiding, Hezbullah chieftain Hassan Nasrallah has finally come out of hiding, and says that what he really wants is to be 'martyred.' I say, "let's give it to him" (Hat Tip: Gershon D).
He showed up in public for the first in more than three years, in the southern suburbs of Beirut Tuesday at a mourning ceremony on Ashura, when Shiite Muslims mark the anniversary of the death of the Prophet Mohammed's grandson Imam Hussein.

He remained in a public for only a few minutes but long enough to preach for death in the name of Jihad.

“It is the dream of every single one of us to join the master martyrs of the entire resistance,” Nasrallah intoned.

“We do not ask for anything in return for our Jihad, seeking reward and payment merely from God,” he added. “We do not seek roles in government, and if we have picked up arms and resorted to resistance it is because God has ordered us to do so.

“We will not depart from our sacred land so that the occupiers would capture it, and God has ordered us not to remain silent when it would lead to being humiliated and not to permit the enemy to set foot in our land.

“We do not possess arms in order to exert our hegemony over the country, or to secure a position in the government. We attach no importance to governance, or to becoming a sultan, and we do not aim for them.

“Some people say they do not need our defense of them, which is because they do not consider Israel as an enemy so that it would pose any threat against them; but those who consider Israel as an enemy must also defend the weapons of the resistance.”
And with that, let's go to the videotape.

Proudly sponsored by the Islamic Republic of Iran

Islamic Jihad has told Reuters that it does not expect the current truce with Israel to last.
"We are proud and honored to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran gives us support and help," Abu Ahmed, the spokesman for Islamic Jihad's armed wing, the Al-Quds Brigades, told Reuters in a rare, long interview.

He denied widespread reports that Iran had provided his group with arms and smiled at suggestions it now receives more sophisticated weaponry from Tehran than Hamas. He also declined to comment on rumors that the Jihadists were trained by Iran.

"What I will say is that we have every right to turn to every source of power for help," said the burly, bearded Abu Ahmed, occasionally flicking a string of yellow prayer beads.

Islamic Jihad's latest confrontation with Israel left 12 Palestinian gunmen and one Israeli civilian dead. The fighting ended only after neighbouring Egypt brokered a ceasefire with both parties, but Abu Ahmed did not see it lasting long.

"Theoretically the calm has been restored, but in practice it hasn't really," he said. Israel, he said, is itching for a fight in Gaza following last month's prisoner-swap accord, in which Israel released 477 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Gilad Schalit, an Israeli soldier held by Hamas since 2006.

Israel says it attacks only in self-defense.

...

"The Al-Quds Brigades really surprised Israel, forcing them to rethink their assessment of us ... I don't think they realized we had that weaponry," said Abu Ahmed, indicating the vehicle was immediately hidden underground after the attack.

Al-Quds Brigades cells are dotted around Gaza and Abu Ahmed said there was huge demand from youngsters to join.

"We take some, but can't accept everyone ... It is a question of quality, not quantity," he said, giving for the first time an estimate of the strength of the force. "We have at least 8,000 fighters, who are fully equipped."
The problem is that we make the IDF fight with one arm tied behind its back. Otherwise, Israel could wipe them off the face of the earth.

It's time to give Islamic Jihad what they want.
He said Islamic Jihad's biggest problem was the Israeli armed drones that regularly buzz over Gaza seeking out operatives. "Warfare has changed. You can't just hide a gun in your jacket like you could in the 1980s," he said, adding that the Jihadist fighters were not afraid of sudden death.

"It is a good feeling to be under drone attack. When we chose the path of resistance, we opted either for martyrdom or victory. Martyrdom is the more desirable."
I agree. Let's use the drones to give them all the 'martyrdom' they want. Heh.

Are Arab mothers 'just like us'?

Richard Landes argues that liberal cognitive egocentrism - as reflected by the insistence that 'Palestinian' mothers are just like our own - is a weapon in the cognitive war that Islam wages against us.
I remember hearing the same from Ted Koppel at the outbreak of the intifada. Hosting a program in which he had to have the Israelis separated from the Palestinians – on the insistence of the Palestinians – he responded to one Israeli claiming that the Palestinians wanted war: “I don’t believe that for a minute. A Palestinian mother cares about her children every bit as much as an Israeli mother.”

It was indeed these dogmatic kinds of politically correct statements that led me to formulate the expression “liberal cognitive egocentrism.” This kind of thinking, which Edward Saïd insisted we – not the Arabs – adopt, is a major element in the cognitive war that Islam wages against us, and creates an extensive epistemological confusion in which we cannot identify the problems or analyze how to resolve them. The editors of the NYT, and their major columnists like Friedman, Kristof, and Cohen, all participate in this liberal, PC dogma, and accordingly, find themselves constantly ignoring reality and coming up with ludicrous solutions. (As Pierre Taguieff pointed out long ago, when all the fishes swim in the same direction it’s because they’re dead.”)

Indeed, as long as you believe that the Palestinians are “just like us” and all they want is a state of their own, and their terror is a sign of the desperation at not getting what everyone else has (rather than aspiration to destroy someone else’s), then obviously, Bibi (and any other Israeli leader who doesn’t retreat to the 67 boundaries) is responsible for the impass which – everyone knows – could be resolved, in the words of one BBC commentator, by email. Never mind that in the real world, people who pursue these satisfying if fantastic solution end up looking – at best – like keystone cops.

'Preparing for peace': 'Palestinian Authority' Television 'Best Mothers' program visits suicide terrorist's mother

In preparation for 'peaceful coexistence' with Israel, and in honor of Ramadamadan 'Palestinian Authority' Television's Best Mothers program visits the mother of a suicide terrorist.
On occasion of the Ramadan, PA TV has launched a new program called The Best Mothers. Every day, the edited 10-minute program shows a different Palestinian mother in her home, talking about her children.

Last week, PA TV chose to visit the mother of Darin Abu Aisheh, a suicide bomber who blew herself up at a roadblock in 2002, wounding three Israelis.
Let's go to the videotape.

That ought to encourage them to prepare for two states living side by side in peace and security, no?

Brits discover 'Palestinians' paying terrorists

Britain has now discovered that a significant portion of their aid money to the 'Palestinian Authority' is going to pay 'Palestinian' prisoners terrorists and the families of suicide bombers.
The Palestinian Authority, which gets £86million of British aid a year, has authorised payments of almost £5million to the families of ‘martyrs’.

Another £3million has been given to 5,500 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. The payments, using taxpayers’ cash donated from Britain and the European Union, have been described as ‘ludicrous’ by one Tory MP.

The Palestinian Authority, which oversees the West Bank, has introduced a new law which pays the families of suicide bombers out of its civil service budget.

According to the official Palestinian daily newspaper, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, payments to the families of ‘martyrs’ – those killed fighting Israel, including suicide bombers – totalled 3.5 per cent of the budget.

‘Every terrorist in prison, including those whose acts led to the deaths of Israeli civilians, are on the PA payroll,’ said Itamar Marcus, of Palestinian Media Watch.

‘The salary goes directly to the terrorist or the terrorist’s family, and prisoners receive their salaries from the day of arrest.’

Tory MP Philip Davies said the payments were ‘ludicrous’. He added: ‘People think overseas aid is to try to alleviate terrible poverty in places where they can’t afford to look after themselves. But it’s being put to these kind of purposes.

‘It would be bad enough at the best of times, but at a time when we have got no money, it is utterly inexcusable.’

...

David Cameron has admitted that the controversial pledge to spend billions more on international aid was a ‘difficult commitment’ at a time when spending programmes were being slashed at home.

The Prime Minister admitted that some aid had been ‘wasted’, but continued to dismiss ‘aid sceptics’.
Your tax schillings at work. Why be skeptical? What could go wrong?

Shocka: 'East' Jerusalem Arabs call Bin Laden a 'martyr'

How are 'east' Jerusalem's Arabs reacting to the death of Osama Bin Laden? I'm sure you'll all be shocked - just shocked - that they consider him a 'martyr.'

Let's go to the videotape.

In case I have any moronic readers (I must have a few because I know I have some moronic commenters whose comments I usually delete) out there, the US didn't invade Afghanistan until after 9/11.

How Yihye Ayyash got his virgins

Most of you probably don't recognize the picture at the top of this post. Many of you may not even recognize his name. The 'Engineer' - Yihye Ayyash - was one of the 'pioneers' of suicide bombing. His life was terminated 15 years ago this past week, when a cellular phone on which he was speaking blew his head off. This article has some details of the hit that I had never heard before.
On the morning of January 5, 1996, the Palestinian sitting atop of Israel’s most-wanted list answered a mobile phone call from his father in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahiya. A few seconds into the conversation, after a surveillance plane overhead apparently verified that it was indeed Yehiyeh Ayash speaking on the phone, a radio signal was sent from the plane and the cellular phone exploded, killing the Hamas terrorist bomb-builder responsible for dozens of Israeli deaths.

...

The assassination was a huge accomplishment for the security services. “The Engineer” had managed to evade capture and assassination by Israel multiple times over three years by using master disguises, secret hideouts and trusting only a small circle of family and friends. It would ultimately be that close circle that betrayed the top terrorist.

Believing that Ayash was in the Gaza Strip for several months, the security services began searching for a way to get the Hamas terrorist. According to numerous reports, it was the uncle of his close friend whom he was living with, a man who had previously worked with the security services, who managed to locate and pass him the booby-trapped cellular phone that decapitated him. By the time Ayash received the phone call that ended his life, the uncle, Kamal Hamad, had disappeared from the region, and was reported to have been given passage to the United States.
I wonder how many other 'Palestinians' are now living abroad courtesy of Israel.

'Peace ship' comes home

The Mavi Marmara, the ship on which Turkish terrorists attacked IDF commandos in May, returned home to Istanbul on Sunday (Hat Tip: Joshua I).
A welcoming ceremony was held by the Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief (İHH) for Mavi Marmara ship at the port.

Many people across Turkey, peace activists from 50 countries and representatives from non-governmental organizations attended the ceremony.
Let's go to the videotape.

Unsurprisingly, there was an ugly side to Sunday's goings on. In case you missed it in the video....
The crowds waved Palestinian and Turkish flags and chanted "Allah is great!" at Istanbul's Sarayburu port. Some activists boarded boats to greet the ship as it arrived.

Religious Islamic chants were heard, some of them identifying with Hamas. One of the event organizers spoke out and said: "We're returning the Marmara without nine shahids (martyrs)".

He added: "I ask God to return Jerusalem to us and fight for the shahids." He also asked that God "take revenge on the killers" and called for "death to Israel," saying they will fight till their last breath until they take over Jerusalem.

The artist and former Israeli Dror Feiler, who participated in the Gaza-bound flotilla, also spoke. "I come from Sweden but I was born in Israel," he began. "What the Israeli government is doing isn't only against Palestinians, but against the Jews as well. We stand here together, Christians, Muslims, Jews and those who don't believe – because we're all supporting human rights and enforcing the international law. We believe every person has rights, regardless of origin or faith."

Feiler expressed his support of the flotilla to Gaza and called to put the Israeli leadership on trial. He said that "when the politicians talk about human rights and the importance of international law but do nothing, it's our mission to make them do so for peace and freedom in Gaza, just like the nine shahids that died."

Meanwhile, another flotilla is on its way to the Gaza Strip, which is currently under a partial Israeli blockade. The Gaza-bound humanitarian aid convoy ‘Asia 1′ reached Lebanon on Saturday.
What could go wrong?
