BBC's shameless 'apology' for its biased reporting
I know - it's been a long time since I posted anything. I've been working - pays much better than blogging. But I don't want to let the blog die entirely, and I wanted to share with you what has to be one of the worst media bias stories from Western media in recent years.
I am sure that many of you saw the headline above. On Friday night, an Israeli policewoman, 23-year old Hadas Malka HY"D (May God Avenge her blood) was murdered by three 'Palestinian' terrorists who conducted coordinated attacks in two places along the outside of the Old City's wall. The headline above sat on the BBC's website and in its Twitter feed for many hours. The bias in the headline is obvious - the 'deadly stabbing' didn't happen itself. It was perpetrated by the three 'Palestinians' who were shot. A more appropriate headline would have been 'Israeli policewoman murdered by three Palestinians.' Even Maan's headline was less biased.
This morning, the Beeb 'apologized' for its headline. No, not really, but they posted a response to outrage in the virtual world that included Donald Trump Jr., the US President's son. Here's the Beeb's entire 'apology.'
BBC Response: We accept that our original headline did not
appropriately reflect the nature of the events and subsequently changed
it. Whilst there was no intention to mislead our audiences, we regret
any offence caused.
They don't regret the headline. They regret the 'offence caused.' They accept that it didn't appropriately reflect the nature of the events, but they don't apologize for writing it, nor for leaving it up for many hours.
Makes it sound like there's no connection between the Israeli's death and the 'Palestinian' attackers' assault - they just happened to occur around the same time.
And you wonder about the origins of the #FakeNews epidemic?
And again: 'Palestinian' stabs Christian British student to death on Jerusalem tram
A 23-year old Christian British woman was murdered by a 'mentally unstable' (is there any other kind?) 'Palestinian' terrorist on the Jerusalem tram this afternoon. The terrorist was a 57-year old (so much for 'only' letting 'over-50 Palestinians' move around freely) resident of Ras-al-Amud, the area near the Mount of Olives. The stabbing took place as the tram rounded the corner at IDF Square, just outside Jerusalem's Old City.
Another woman, who is pregnant, was injured when the train stopped, and a man was hurt while trying to flee the assailant. They are both lightly hurt, MDA said.
The assailant has been identified as Gamil Tamimi, 57, a Palestinian resident of Ras al-Amud in East Jerusalem who was recently released from a psychiatric hospital, according to the police said.
Probably related to this Tamimi - at least distantly. Israel is holding this paragon of virtue - at least until the next Terrorists for X exchange.
The Shin Bet said that Tamimi had tried to commit suicide by swallowing a razorblade while hospitalized. In 2011, he was convicted of molesting his daughter.
"This is yet another case of a Palestinian suffering from personal, mental or moral distress choosing to commit an act of terror to escape his problems," the Shin Bet says.
So in 'Palestinian society' you can save your 'family honor' by murdering a Jew. Murder a Jew and and molesting your daughter is forgiven.
Will Donald Trump usher in the Messiah? (Jewish textual and numerical proofs and a little personal stuff)
I know I haven't posted in quite a while - I have been crazy busy with work, and that's what puts food on the table (and pays the debts).
And I know that it's already been the Sabbath in Israel for several hours, but I am in Seattle (yes, really) where there are still several more hours to go.
And today is Donald Trump's inauguration as President of the United States.
For those of you who are ambivalent or worse, here are some grounds for optimism - a video I received from my son who became a groom (yup, he's engaged) a bit less than two weeks ago (in fact, on the same day as I last posted).
If you're seeing this post as a preview, it's worth clicking just to see the tweet I embedded in the top.
A 'Palestinian' terrorist slammed a truck into a crowd of soldiers near Jerusalem's Armon HaNetziv neighborhood today, killing at least 4 and wounding 16.
A truck rammed into a group of soldiers on a
promenade in the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood of Jerusalem, killing at
least four of them, in a vehicle-ramming attack on Sunday afternoon,
police said.
Police chief Roni Alsheich called the incident a vehicular terror attack.
The soldiers were getting off a bus at the
promenade, a popular tourist spot in southern Jerusalem, when a large
flatbed truck ran into them.
At least 16 more people were injured, two of them very seriously, according to Jerusalem hospitals.
The four soldiers — three women and one man — who died were in their 20s, the Magen David Adom rescue service said.
According to police, the terrorist accelerated as he struck the group.
Eyewitnesses said that after the driver hit
the soldiers with his truck, he put the vehicle in reverse and ran over
them a second time.
Footage of the incident taken from a security
camera showed the truck run into the group of soldiers as they stood
next to a bus. The driver then attempts to turn the truck around and run
over the group again as people scramble for cover.
The driver of the vehicle was shot by both soldiers and by a civilian guide, police said. He died of his wounds.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tx) issued the following statement.
“Today we saw yet another horrific attack by a Palestinian terrorist in
Jerusalem. The United States stands unshakably with our ally Israel, and
with the Israeli Defense Forces soldiers who were the targets of this
attack. IDF soldiers bravely defend the people of Israel, protect them
and keep them safe. The terrorists targeting them are the enemies of
peace, which can never be achieved while terror groups like Hamas incite
violence and the destruction of Israel. Our prayers are with the IDF,
and with the victims of this attack and their families.”
Some of the newspapers in Europe are comparing this to an Islamic State attack. But we've had these kinds of attacks dating long before Islamic State.
Video: Israel's UNESCO Ambassasdor trashes resolution denying Jewish connection to Temple Mount
Israel's Ambassador to UNESCO, Carmel Shama-HaCohen, reacts to Wednesday's UNESCO resolution denying the Jewish connection to Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.
Let's go to the videotape.
Ambassador Shama-HaCohen has been recalled from UNESCO for 'consultations.'
UNESCO's World Heritage Committee is meeting now, and despite insistence by Lebanon and Cuba that its resolution denying the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount be adopted by 'consensus,' there is going to be a secret ballot due to the insistence of Tanzania and Croatia.

#UNESCO_lies avoids revote, finalizes resolution denying Jewish connection to Temple Mount, director general receives death threats
After last week's UNESCO vote denying the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount, Mexico, which had voted in favor, fired its (Jewish) ambassador to UNESCO who walked out in protest, and then announced that it was demanding a revote in which it would abstain on the resolution. Brazil, which had also voted in favor, decided that it too could no longer support the resolution.
But it was all for naught. UNESCO's Executive Board decided a short while ago that the resolution 'was adopted.' There will be no revote.
Meanwhile, UNESCO's Director General, Irina Bukova, has received death threats for comments she made opposing the resolution.
Bokova said following the drafted resolutions "nowhere more than in
Jerusalem do Jewish, Christian and Muslim heritage and traditions share
space".
“To deny, conceal or erase any of the Jewish, Christian
or Muslim traditions undermines the integrity of the site, and runs
counter to the reasons that justified its inscription on the UNESCO
World Heritage list [in 1981],” she stated on Friday.
I'm sure UNESCO would call her murder an 'honor killing.'
Israel's Education Ministry said on Friday that it is suspending all cooperation with UNESCO, a step that goes further than Israel's (and the United States') previous decisions to suspend their contributions to the agency, a decision President Obama has unsuccessfully attempted to reverse on several occasions.
In case I don't have time later, I want to wish you all a Shana Tova and a Kethiva vaChathima Tova, may you all have a wonderful New Year (5777) and be inscribed and sealed in the books of life, health and happiness.
The Mayor of the Druze town of Majdal Shams on the Golan Heights dismisses as 'a total joke' a UN assertion that Golan Druze suffer from the 'hardship' of 'Israeli occupation.'
Dulan abu-Saleh, the mayor of Majdal Shams, the largest Druze town in
the Golan, told the Makor Rishon newspaper that the U.N. Economic and
Social Council’s recent statement on the area was “a total joke,” the
daily reported Friday.
...
Abu-Saleh objected to the inclusion of his native area in the U.N.
panel’s statement earlier this month, which said that “economic and
social repercussions of the occupation on the living conditions of the
Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories, including
East Jerusalem and the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan.”
“I don’t understand what they’re talking about, it’s laughable,”
abu-Saleh said. Druze in the Golan “don’t serve in the IDF and so far
are only receiving from the state.”
Referencing the war in Syria, he
said: “Why don’t they condemn the horrors in Syria, where dozens of
children are killed daily? Golan residents have a good life.”
He also said: “Although we weren’t included in some major cabinet
decisions on budgets, when we build and make up plans we never felt
discrimination. On the contrary, we always found an attentive ear.”
Prior to the eruption in 2011 of a civil war in Syria, only 1,700 of
the Golan’s Druze claimed Israeli citizenship offered to them. Hundreds
have applied since then.
And Abu-Saleh is not a lone voice.
Karim Batkhish, a resident of the town of Masaada, is quoted as saying:
“The war in Syria is irrelevant to us. Some may say they support [Syrian
President Bashar] Assad but it’s a lie to show Syria we’re with them.
They’re lying, no one wants to see Syria here.”
That kind of matches the 'Palestinian' experience under 'occupation' in Jerusalem, doesn't it?
Police said the man, a resident of the West Bank,
had been questioned by guards who said he raised suspicions as he tried
to board the light rail.
During the questioning, the man told the guards that he was carrying explosives.
Large police forces arrived at the scene and a police bomb squad found multiple pipe bombs in his bag.
King
George and Jaffa Streets were closed to traffic and the light rail was
stopped along the same line for some time before resuming service.
The security guard who stopped the terrorist from boarding the train was Druze. The light rail operates throughout the city, going through some Arab neighborhoods of 'east' Jerusalem.
Oh yes, almost forgot to mention. The corner on which the terrorist was arrested was where the Sbarro pizza shop was blown up by a 'Palestinian' suicide bomber in 2001. Fifteen Israelis were murdered in that terror attack.
The day the Republican party moved squarely into the pro-Israel corner
Yes, it's late again.
Here's video from Tuesday Republican national party platform committee meeting in which what is almost certainly the most pro-Israel platform ever by a US political party is adopted.
June 5 was the anniversary of the outbreak of the Six Day War. This year, it coincided with the 28th day of the Jewish month of Iyyar, which is the date on the Jewish calendar on which the Old City of Jerusalem was liberated.
At the time, the Arabs were lying, telling their people that they were winning the war.
But here's a cable from the British Ambassador to Jordan to Britain's Foreign Office that tells a very different story. It was sent 49 years ago today, June 6, 1967.
40-year old terror victim pulls knife out of neck, stabs and neutralizes terrorist - UPDATED with more video WARNING GRAPHIC
A 40-year old ultra-Orthodox Jew in Petach Tikva pulled a knife out of his own neck this afternoon and stabbed and killed the 'Palestinian' terrorist who had stabbed him.
Let's go to the videotape. More after the video.
The Palestinian assailant had followed the man, who was collecting money
for charity, into a wine shop on the central city’s Baron Hirsch Street
and began stabbing him “multiple times” in the upper body in a
“frenzied attack,” police said.
At one point, the victim managed to break away
and fled the store, while the owner of the store hit the attacker and
tried to subdue him, police said. The victim then returned to the store,
pulled the knife out of his own neck, and stabbed his attacker.
Initial reports had said the stabbing may have
occurred during an altercation; however, the incident was later
confirmed by police as a terror attack.
Magen David Adom paramedics said they treated the victim at the scene before taking him to the city’s Beilinson Hospital.
Here's video of the Petach Tikva terrorist on the ground. WARNING - GRAPHIC.
Ten other terror victims were not as lucky this evening in Tel Aviv. They were all stabbed by another 'Palestinian' terrorist on Tel Aviv's beach promenade before the terrorist was shot and killed by police. One victim - an American tourist - has died of his wounds.
An American tourist was killed and at least 10
people were injured Tuesday evening when a Palestinian man carried out a
stabbing spree in Jaffa. Five of the injured were described as being in
critical condition.
The terrorist stabbed his victims in at least three locations in an attack that lasted some 20 minutes, reports said.
The attacker was shot dead by police after a
chase from the Jaffa Port along the Tel Aviv beach promenade. Police
said he was a 21-year-old man from the West Bank Palestinian refugee
camp in Qalqiliya.
...
The Wolfson Medical Center in Tel Aviv
confirmed one victim, a 29-year-old American tourist, arrived at the
hospital dead, and one other was being treated in the trauma unit in
critical condition. The tourist’s wife was severely injured in the
attack, according to Zaki Heller, spokesperson for the Magen David Adom
ambulance service.
Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital said it received
six victims, one in critical condition, two in moderate condition and
two suffering from lighter wounds. The hospital’s medical director
confirmed that one of the victims was a pregnant woman. Another of the
victims was an Arab Israeli — Jaffa is a mixed city with a sizable Arab
population — and one a Palestinian man who was residing in Israel
illegally, police reported.
Waiting to hear if the United Nations 'human rights council' calls the Petach Tikva victim's response 'disproportionate.'
Two police officers were also shot in the head in a drive-by shooting by a 'Palestinian' terrorist outside the Old City of Jerusalem's Damascus Gate. One of those officers is in critical condition.
UPDATE 11:18 PM
For those who speak Hebrew, here is an interview with 39-year old Yonatan Ezrihab from Yavneel (a small village on the Western part of the Galilee in which Mrs. Carl and I have stayed a couple of times). Ezrihab is a father of five children and he was the one who pulled the knife out of his own neck and stabbed the terrorist in Petach Tikva today.
Let's go to the videotape.

There's been yet another 'Palestinian' terror attack in Jerusalem a short while ago, this time at the Jaffa Gate (which is considered the safe way in) outside Jerusalem's Old City.
Five people were stabbed, two of them were seriously wounded, one terrorist was shot dead, and the second terrorist was apprehended.
Let's go to the videotape.
BREAKING VIDEO: 5 Israelis wounded in stabbing attack at Jaffa Gate, 2 seriously, 1 terrorist shot dead, 2nd wounded pic.twitter.com/yz3z2yxm0e
In yet another display of his desire for peace, a 21-year 'Palestinian' terrorist plowed his car into a crowd of civilians at a busy bus stop in Jerusalem today. 14 people were hurt including a 15-month old baby was was seriously wounded (and whose mother was moderately wounded).
Police named the terrorist as Abed el-Muhsen
Hassuna, a 21-year-old resident of the neighborhood of Beit Hanina. He
was shot dead as he tried to exit the car. A new axe and a new
screwdriver were found in the vehicle.
Hassuna drove his white Mazda sedan onto the
sidewalk, smashing into pedestrians at a bus stop, close to the Chords
Bridge and near the capital’s central bus station, police said. The car
also struck a fire hydrant, sending water shooting into the air.
A member of the security forces, a security
guard and an armed civilian who saw the attack taking place shot the
attacker before he was able to get out of his car and approach the
civilians. The civilian was the first to respond, and shot the driver,
Channel 2 said.
The 'Chords Bridge' (גשר המיתרים) is near the main entrance to Jerusalem and is normally quite crowded. Had today not been the last day of Chanuka - a day most of the kids are off from school - this could have been far worse God Forbid (one of my own children often changes buses near there).
But the problem is that we haven't made enough 'concessions' to the Freakestinians. Ask John Kerry.
The 11-year old has told police that he wanted to die a 'martyr.'
The 11-year-old, a sixth grader from Shuafat,
is the youngest assailant arrested to date in the current upsurge of
Palestinian terrorism. He is too young to face charges under current
Israeli law; the 14-year-old is facing charges of attempted murder.
In their interrogation, the two children said
they carried out the attack as an act of revenge, without planning in
advance and with no encouragement from any adults.
“I met my cousin at the entrance to school,”
said the 11-year-old, who was not named.
“The headmistress refused to let us in because our parents had not paid
tuition. My cousin told me that on the way to school he wanted to carry
out a stabbing attack but did not succeed because all the travelers were
senior citizens,” said the boy.
The 14-year-old allegedly convinced his
younger cousin to carry out an attack. The two first boarded a bus and
looked for the opportune moment and target.
“We travelled from Shuafat to Damascus Gate in
order to stab a soldier but did not do it because the soldiers were in
groups and we didn’t find one standing alone,” recalled the 11-year-old.
“Then he told me ‘let’s do an attack together to revenge the death of
Muhammad Ali.’ He opened his bag and showed me the knife. At Damascus
Gate I bought a pair of scissors and then we boarded the light rail and
looked for Jews to stab.”
Two light rail security guards boarded the
train, but the boys decided “not to stab them because there were two of
them. Later on one of them got off and we immediately attacked the one
that remained.”
“I stabbed him in his head, my cousin stabbed
him in his chest and stomach until the guard pushed me and fired three
bullets in my stomach,” said the 11-year-old.
The two cousins had decided they were ready to
die as shahids, or martyrs, he said. The younger one said in the
interrogation that none of their family members knew about their
intentions.
My youngest son (son #5, child number 8) is an 11-year old 6th grader. He was raised differently....
This type of behavior is the result of incitement in the official 'Palestinian' media. It's being paid for by you, me, and anyone else who pays taxes to a country that supports the 'Palestinian Authority.' It is long past high time that the 'Palestinian Authority' and its leader, Abu Bluff, pay a price for their support of terrorism by incitement in the media.
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004.
