CNN: Jews committed terror attacks too

I heard this story yesterday, but I've been (and continue to be) totally swamped with work, so I didn't take the time to click on it. I assumed - as I am sure others did on reading the headline - that the reference was to the rare alleged attacks by Jews on Arabs in Israel like Baruch Goldstein at the Machpela Cave and Eden Natan-Zada in Shfaram (none of whom was ever tried - the Arabs lynched them immediately, hence the 'alleged'), or the current still under wraps situation involving the alleged arson murder of three members of an Arab family in Samaria.

But no, the CNN anchor (one Ashleigh Banfield interviewing former Reagan White House administrator Jeffrey Lord) had none of those in mind.

Let's go to the videotape.

It goes without saying that this is not the first craziness to come out of CNN.... Where do they find these ditzes? Arutz Sheva has a reminder.
CNN is notorious for its anti-Israel coverage, most recently two weeks ago when the network posted a news article on its website in which Israel was literally wiped off the map.
The article, titled, "Beyond ISIS: 2016's scariest geopolitical hot spots," featured a graphic of the Middle East in which Israel is replaced with a red square marking the country of "Palestina."
CNN also faced an online backlash last May after issuing a report claiming that "settlers" had uprooted 800 Palestinian-owned olive trees near Hevron - based purely on unverified allegations by Palestinian Authority-based outlets with questionable records on fact-checking themselves.
One of the cable operators allegedly replaced CNN with Fox three years ago.  Since I don't have cable (or television for that matter), I cannot confirm whether that it still correct.

Trump to visit Israel, meet with Netanyahu

It was apparently arranged two weeks ago, but Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump will be in Israel on December 28 and will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu (Hat Tip: Memeorandum).
“Every presidential candidate that wants to may meet briefly with the prime minister,” sources said, according to an Army Radio report. “Netanyahu does not agree with every statement made by every candidate.”
Dozens of Israeli lawmakers on Wednesday wrote an urgent letter to Netanyahu asking him to cancel the meeting, Channel 2 reported.
Earlier Wednesday, Meretz legislator Issawi Frej submitted a request with Interior Minister Silvan Shalom seeking to block Trump from entering Israel during his upcoming visit.
“As an Israeli citizen, I ask that the state treat the racism against me in the same way it would relate to racism against Jews. Just as it is obvious that Israel wouldn’t allow an anti-Semite to use it to advance its political goals, so too, should be the case of Trump,” Frej said in a statement.
Trump is “not only a racist, but a danger to the free world,” he added. “He is a man who incites against 20 percent of Israel’s population, a man who wants to fan the flames of hatred everywhere he visits.”
The 'dozens' of MK's who signed a petition asking Netanyahu not to meet with Trump was actually about three dozen - 37 to be precise. 35 of them are opposition MK's, with two (Shas' Yaakov Margi and Kulanu's Roy Volkman) MK's from the coalition also signing.

But Netanyahu kind of owes Trump this meeting even if it had not been set in advance. In addition to the tweet captured above, there's this.

Let's go to the videotape.

I don't want to get into a debate about Trump's comments about admitting Muslims to the US, but the first link in this post points out some important points.

Trump on Tuesday had proposed a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” in remarks that were widely disparaged by the White House, the other Republican presidential candidates, and several US Jewish groups.

Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life,” Trump said in the statement.

...

Kulanu’s former ambassador to the US Michael Oren said Israel should condemn Trump’s comments but that the prime minister should meet with him, as with all presidential candidates, to avoid being seen as intervening in internal American politics.

Speaking Tuesday to the Times of Israel, US-born Oren pointed to the Jewish people’s historical experience in slamming Trump’s comments. “We Jews, who have been the victims of gross and hostile generalizations throughout our history, should be first out there to condemn it.”

A trip to Israel is considered de rigeur for US presidential candidates hoping to shore up foreign policy bona fides and show support for the Jewish state.

...

Kory Bardash, co-chair of the Israeli Republican Party, said Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump should not be seen as backing for the candidate.

“If Netanyahu meets with Trump it should not be perceived as an endorsement of the man or his policies, and that should be made clear. But there is a tradition of meeting with leading candidates, and proper protocol should be followed in this case as well,” he said.

Kulanu MK Michael Oren, a former ambassador to the US, said Israel has “a longstanding tradition of host candidates from both parties,” Oren said, citing visits by Barack Obama in 2008 and by Mitt Romney in 2012. “At the same time,” he added, “it’s important for leaders of a country close to 20 percent of whose population is Muslim to stand up and say that we distinguish between radical violent Islam and the faith that inspires millions not just here but internationally.”

#DoubleStandard When it's okay to pay 'migrants' to leave and when it's not

Norway is offering large sums of money (80,000 Kroner - some $9,300) and free plane tickets to 'migrants' (Muslims) to leave.
“They thought that when they came to Norway they would get protection rather quickly. And that they would have the opportunity to work or take an education – and maybe even to get their family to Norway,” Katinka Hartmann, head of the The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration’s (Utlendingsdirektoratet - UDI) return unit, told broadcaster NRK.

But with family reunification application processing times taking years, many have decided that they don’t want to wait and have applied for financial assistance to return home.

According to UDI, over 900 people have applied to leave Norway with financial support from the state. A family with two children can receive upwards of 80,000 kroner ($9,300 or 8,600 euros) in addition to having their airline tickets bought by the state.

The number of applications is on the rise, according to the Norwegian division of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which processes the requests.

“Earlier this year, the number was an average of 100 per month. In October, there were 150 and in November there were 230 applications,” IOM spokesman Joost van der Aalst told NRK.

He said that the long family reunification times were a major factor, but many people were also put off by having to live in remote areas where they feel it is difficult to put their work experience to use.
You might remember another country where they wanted to pay migrants to leave, and might have even considered paying migrants who had been in the country for many years to leave. Of course, that country was blasted by its leftist media, by its own legislators, and by its Supreme Court, along with 'human rights watch' and other 'human rights' groups. Can you guess what country was blasted for trying to get illegal immigrants to leave? I knew you could....

Must see video: With Open Gates: The forced collective suicide of European nations

I planned to post this yesterday, but was too busy with work. The Middle East is taking over Europe. Unfortunately for the Europeans, that isn't a reference to Israel and the Jews. It's a reference to Muslims coming from Middle Eastern, South Asian and African countries who are turning native Europeans into a minority with the cooperation and encouragement of Europe's chattering classes.

Let's go to the videotape. It's kind of long but worth watching.

With all this going on, the only thing that seems to concern the Europeans is barring products of 'Israeli settlements' - an act that is proven anti-Semitic by the fact that it is the only 'occupation' among some 200 worldwide that the Europeans have decided to address.

The European countries themselves are starting to reconsider the Schengen laws that allow persons to pass from one country to another, and it is time for other countries in the West - the United States, Canada (very little chance that will happen now that Trudeau has replaced Harper), Australia and yes, Israel, need to reconsider the admission of citizens of European countries without visas.

The world is changing in dangerous ways. Vigilance is necessary.

How ISIS is going to attack Chicago with nuclear weapons

It's been more than nine years - since the early days of this blog - since I started warning that Islamic terrorist groups were infiltrating the United States via Mexico. Here's an article that shows how Islamic State (ISIS) is picking up where Hezbullah left off.
“There is a 47 mile long “Open Border” with Mexico. This makes It is very convenient for terrorists because what they do is fly to Mexico City, then fly to Ciudad Juarez. The beginning of the “open border zone” is literally 11 miles from the Juarez airport.
...
So think for a second an open border within 11 miles of a major international airport. How convenient is that for the terrorists, called ”Other than Mexican’s” to cross into the USA/ Your government tax dollars at work. If you don’t want to get your feet too wet you continue east and come across the border between Esperanza and Fort Hancock where the river is less than 6 inches deep. We put almost 100 miles on our car criss-crossing this 47 mile long open zone and we did not find one…..Not one Border Patrol agent guarding the border.
So we drove and drove and we drove some more; we looked and we searched… We put almost 100 miles on our car criss crossing this 47 mile long open zone and we did not find one…..Not one Border Patrol agent guarding the border.
So a Border Patrol agent in El Paso told me a 75% reduction in field staffing in East County (the open border zone). The correct answer from our research is that there is 100% stand down of border patrol agents allowing any and everyone to cross over the open unsecured borders into the USA.
Regardless of your political affiliation you really have to wonder what is going on here. The people coming into Estados Undios/United States here are not Mexicans. They are categorized as OTM (Other than Mexican).
They routinely caught people from (the following countries)….
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Pakistan
  • Egypt
  • Syria
  • Yemen
  • Turkey
...
(Editor’s Note: This is a who’s who list of countries containing terrorists who want to do harm to all Americans. It is also interesting to note that many of the countries listed in the Barber Report include the same countries that we see in Refugee/Resettlement programs which are bringing tens of thousands of unscreened immigrants into the U.S. Further, this reports casts the OTM invasion of the United States, last summer, in a different light. Last summer’s border invasion was a cover for ISIS to set up camps and prepare to strike at targets inside of the United States....)

“When we take a big ISIS hit and we will!  You now know where our government let them into this country. You will know how they circumvented the internal Border Patrol checkpoints which are too busy arresting legal Americans and seizing their cash… El Paso, which is the only major city in the United States where you can not leave the area without being checked at an internal Border Patrol checkpoint. It is curious that the government says these checkpoints are to enforce immigration laws yet over 84% of those arrested at these internal checkpoints are legal United States Citizens . The fines from these arrests are a source of revenue for the Obama administration. If you have over $1000 in cash on you that is legally yours, “they” (your USA government) seizes/ your money…
Why did I mention Chicago in the title? Read it all to find out.

Unbelievable: ISIS executes Christians, Israel gets blamed

The link goes to this Haaretz article (who else in Israel would publish such a thing?). But when you read the story, blaming Israel doesn't exactly add up.
At least one of the three asylum seekers, T., was held in the Holot detention center in the Negev before leaving Israel. T.'s relative, Mesi, told Haaretz that the family identified him in the ISIS video. "He appears in the video and in the photographs, definitely," she said. "He had been in Israel since the end of 2007. He decided to go back after the [Israeli] Ministry of Interior told him he would be better off."
According to Mesi, T. "went back to Uganda or Rwanda – I think Rwanda – where they are not accepted. From there he went on to Sudan, and from Sudan to Libya." She said that he was not able to remain in Libya, and tried to reach Europe by boat. "I understood that the boat was returned to Libya," she said, "where they were arrested. Rumors have it that the extreme Islamic group snatched them from the jail itself."
Mesi said she tried to dissuade T. from going to a third county. "They told him he would be better off if he flies. I asked him not to. He didn't tell us he had signed [papers] to leave." She added that she and other friends of T. tried to tell him things could change for the better, "that [asylum seekers] would be released from Holot."

Mesi added that she did not keep in touch with T. after he left Israel, but received updates from his brother, who resides in Norway. "He told me that T. arrived in Sudan and Libya and that he hadn't spoken to him in a long time because he was in Libyan prison." She said T.'s brother saw the images of ISIS' execution, but did not think his brother was among the group of Ethiopian Christians.
So why is Israel being blamed? Who sent the boat back to Libya? Why isn't Uganda or Rwanda or Sudan blamed? Why isn't the United States blamed because President Hussein Obama led from behind to depose the Gadhaffi's? Why isn't ISIS blamed?

But wait, it gets worse. There's this hit job from the Daily Beast (the title is enough to tell you where this article is headed).
At least three of the victims were Eritrean refugees who had been deported from Israel. An Eritrean named Mesi Fashiya who works as a translator for The Hotline for Refugees and Migrants, an Israeli NGO that advocates for Israel’s estimated 46,000 refugees, identified the victims.
Sadly, one was her relative.
Fashiya told the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz that her cousin, identified as “T.,” was deported from Israel “back to Uganda or Rwanda—I think Rwanda—where they are not accepted. From there he went on to Sudan, and from Sudan to Libya.”
“I recognized my relative, T., from the photos published by ISIS that appeared on Facebook before the video was released,” Fashiya told +972 magazine.
T. was sent abroad in a program that Israel initiated to deal with its burgeoning refugee problem. In a brochure obtained by The Daily Beast, the Israeli Population and Immigration Authority “offers foreign nationals from [Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, and Guinea Conakry], who entered Israel illegally, the option to leave the country voluntarily, in a fair and dignified manner.”
In the brochure, Israel offers to assist in the “arrangement of travel documents, purchase of airline tickets, and a financial grant in the amount of $3,500 per person, including children,” to asylum seekers who agree to leave.
While this may seem a fair deal, Israel’s record with asylum seekers and migrant workers is, for lack of a better word, awful.
Excuse me, but since when is little Israel responsible for solving the world's problems? Until ISIS came in, these people were economic refugees - what country in the world grants asylum to economic refugees? (Answer: The United States under Obama, but there are a lot of people who are unhappy about that, and it will likely change in 2017). The financial grant is quite generous for that part of the world. And note that Libya is not one of the countries on the list. These people could have gone to Eritrea or Ethiopia where they came from.

Funny how Israel is the only country blamed for this. Coincidence? I think not.

ISIS running camp in Mexico that helps Jihadis steal into the US

Mexican authorities have confirmed that ISIS (Islamic State) has set up a transit camp on the border near El Paso, Texas to assist Jihadis in gaining access to the United States (Hat Tip: MFS - The Other News).
The exact location where the terrorist group has established its base is around eight miles from the U.S. border in an area known as “Anapra” situated just west of Ciudad Juárez in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. Another ISIS cell to the west of Ciudad Juárez, in Puerto Palomas, targets the New Mexico towns of Columbus and Deming for easy access to the United States, the same knowledgeable sources confirm.
During the course of a joint operation last week, Mexican Army and federal law enforcement officials discovered documents in Arabic and Urdu, as well as “plans” of Fort Bliss – the sprawling military installation that houses the US Army’s 1st Armored Division. Muslim prayer rugs were recovered with the documents during the operation.
Law enforcement and intelligence sources report the area around Anapra is dominated by the Vicente Carrillo Fuentes Cartel (“Juárez Cartel”), La Línea (the enforcement arm of the cartel) and the Barrio Azteca (a gang originally formed in the jails of El Paso). Cartel control of the Anapra area make it an extremely dangerous and hostile operating environment for Mexican Army and Federal Police operations.
According to these same sources, “coyotes” engaged in human smuggling – and working for Juárez Cartel – help move ISIS terrorists through the desert and across the border between Santa Teresa and Sunland Park, New Mexico. To the east of El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, cartel-backed “coyotes” are also smuggling ISIS terrorists through the porous border between Acala and Fort Hancock, Texas. These specific areas were targeted for exploitation by ISIS because of their understaffed municipal and county police forces, and the relative safe-havens the areas provide for the unchecked large-scale drug smuggling that was already ongoing.
Mexican intelligence sources report that ISIS intends to exploit the railways and airport facilities in the vicinity of Santa Teresa, NM (a US port-of-entry). The sources also say that ISIS has “spotters” located in the East Potrillo Mountains of New Mexico (largely managed by the Bureau of Land Management) to assist with terrorist border crossing operations. ISIS is conducting reconnaissance of regional universities; the White Sands Missile Range; government facilities in Alamogordo, NM; Ft. Bliss; and the electrical power facilities near Anapra and Chaparral, NM.
In the meanwhile, the Obama administration has legalized the presence of millions of illegal immigrants in the United States without any kind of background checks. Some of them are likely Islamist terrorists.

Video: Heartbroken mother of terror victim talks about her dead son

Many of you probably remember Rasmieh Odeh, the 'Palestinian' terrorist who lied about not having a criminal conviction when she applied for US citizenship and was caught and convicted (sentencing in about a month).

My friend Professor Jacobson has just uncovered this 2009 video interview with Roslyn Joffe, the mother of Edward Joffe, HY"D (May God Avenge his blood), who died in the bombing carried out by Odeh. Mrs. Joffe was dying at the time. You never forget losing a loved one to terrorism, God Forbid.

Let's go to the videotape.

A terrorist and a liar

On November 10, 2014, a federal jury in Detroit found Rasmieh (Rasmea) Yousef Odeh guilty of illegally procuring naturalization by falsely answering questions whether she "EVER" had been convicted or imprisoned. Odeh murdered two Israelis in a Jerusalem supermarket bombing in 1969. She was convicted in Israel and imprisoned for life, before being released in a 'prisoner exchange.' The Americans - despite urging (and more) Israel to release 'Palestinian' terrorists - are smart enough not to want them living among them even 45 years after their crimes took place. Professor William Jacobson explains why you shouldn't feel sorry for her.
The pro-Odeh narrative runs something like this: Odeh was just a political activist prior to Israeli arrest, picked up as part of a mass arrest of 500 or more people with no evidence of involvement in terror. Odeh gave a false confession after 25 days of horrific sexual torture, including gang rape, being forced to watch another prisoner tortured to death, and failed attempts to coerce her father into raping her. Odeh was denied the ability to defend herself, was denied access to counsel in the Israeli military court, and did not receive a fair trial.
That narrative does not hold up based on the record.
The demonstrable facts show that:
Prior to her arrest in Israel, Odeh was a military participant in and organizer for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
Odeh confessed in a highly detailed account just one day after arrest. The timetable of her confession is inconsistent with the multi-week torture narrative. Other co-conspirators also quickly confessed; one of whom directly implicated Odeh as the mastermind in a 2004 film documentary.
After arrest Odeh was allowed to and did defend herself in the Israeli military court, where she was represented by counsel. Israel called witnesses to rebut the torture allegations.
An observer from the International Red Cross was present for the entire six-month Israeli trial, and stated afterward that the Israeli military court "had given the accused every chance of defending themselves, and the trial was – in his opinion – a fair trial."
...
The only victims in the Rasmea Odeh story are the two Hebrew University students killed in the 1969 supermarket bombing.
Read the whole thing.  Then ask yourself how much hypocrisy the Obama administration is showing by asking us to release these people.

What could go wrong?

The so-called 'gap' in construction labor could be filled in by employers voluntarily paying living wages so that Jews would be more likely to be willing to fill the positions in question. That would be the best scenario. It's not like the construction contractors are starving.

It could also be filled with legal temporary residence permits for people from countries with little or no history of overstaying visas (e.g. Philippines and Thailand).

Allowing Gazans to work here opens a Pandora's box for terrorism that has largely been closed for the last 12-14 years.

In the meantime, the Histadrut Labor Federation (think of the AFL-CIO, the Teamsters and the Mafia all rolled into one) has started a campaign to raise the minimum wage, which would only drive the cost of employment in the construction industry up further and increase the salaries that would be demanded by manual labor-averse Jews, ensuring that no one other than Arabs would take the positions for the salaries offered.

This is crazy.

Israel's new dictator

Israel has a new dictator.

In an earlier post, I reported on the Supreme Court overturning a law passed by the Knesset to deal with our illegal immigrants, and suggested that the Knesset ought to overturn the law. Now, our new dictator, unelected attorney general Yehuda Weinstein, has decided that the Knesset cannot overturn the Supreme Court. Yehuda Weinstein is now the sole arbiter of what laws the Knesset is allowed to pass. This is 'democracy'? Pathetic!
Interior Minister Gidon Sa'ar (Likud) told the committee that he supports legislation that would enable the Knesset to veto court rulings that knock down the Knesset's law - like the decisions that disqualified the Infiltrators Law, twice.
In response, Deputy AG Dina Zilber said that AG Yehuda Weinstein will oppose such legislation.
In Israel, the Attorney General doubles as the Legal Advisor for the Government and can basically decide the government's policy on legislation even if a majority of ministers holds the opposite view.
"It is convenient to go to a court that adopts your views,” Zilber chided Sa'ar. “But it is not a rubber stamp. In is one of the regime's most valued assets. It is fine to criticize it, and the court is not monolithic. The body that gave the court the authority to strike down laws is the Knesset and therefore, there is no reason to be angry about it.”
Zilber added that the AG “would not lend his hand to diminishing the authority of the High Court.”
So does this mean that the Knesset can take away from the court the authority to strike down laws? Well, no, because Ms. Zilber is incorrect. The court abrogated that authority to itself (in a case in which I played a small role when I worked in the government nearly 20 years ago) by striking down certain provisions of Israel's 1995 Investment Advisers law, which it said conflicted with the Basic Law - Human Dignity and Freedom. By choosing to invalidate only part of the law (the transition provisions) in an area that was not of great concern to the most of the public (the imposition of a licensing requirement for investment advisers), the court managed to establish the precedent of invalidating laws under the country's radar screen - a power it continues to expand to this day. Now, with the help of the country's Leftist Attorney General, the court is assured that it will not even have to deal with laws that challenge its rulings.

What recourse does the Knesset have? The only recourse I can think of is to replace Weinstein with someone more open when his term expires. Weinstein has a six-year term. There's a long way to go. He took office in 2010....

The illegal aliens' matchmaker

We in Israel also have illegal aliens.

On Monday, at the Knesset Interior Committee, Chairwoman Miri Regev had some scathing criticism for Israel's Supreme Court its approach to illegal aliens.
MK Miri Regev (Likud), the Chairperson of the Knesset's Committee for the Interior and Environment, mocked High Court Judge Uzi Fogelman's arguments in favor of anulling parts of the Infiltrators' Law.
The judge noted that infiltrators who are detained at the Holot center will have difficulty devoting time to their “hobbies” and finding partners from the opposite sex.
"It is time that the judges in the state of Israel understand that there is real human hardship in Israel,” she said. “I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that the High Court was concerned with the infiltrators' hobbies and love matches. Has the High Court turned into a matchmaker?”
Unfortunately, however, Regev's words are just that - words. The tyranny of Israel's Supreme Court will apparently continue unabated.  This is from the original link.
MK Regev promised that by December 22, a new bill would be submitted to the Knesset “that will also provide a solution to the matchmaking issue, but will continue the idea of returning the infiltrators to their countries of origin.”
The High Court struck down key sections of the Infiltrator Law two weeks ago, in a ruling that has caused anguish among residents of the working class neighborhoods where most infiltrators live, which have seen a spike in violent crime due to their presence.
The days when the Knesset could overrule the Supreme Court in this country are unfortunately gone. What could go wrong?

Why pay only 'migrants' to leave?

For the third consecutive month, the number of illegal migrants that agreed to leave Israel has more than doubled.
A total of 1,705 African migrants agreed to leave Israel voluntarily in February, Interior Minister Gideon Sa'ar said Thursday.
The number is the largest single monthly total yet, coming after 765 who left in January, 325 in December and 63 in November.
Sa'ar credits the figures to the new anti-infiltration amendment, the opening of the Holot detention facility for African migrants, greater  of enforcement against Israelis hiring illegal migrants, the one-time grant that was increased from $1,500 to $3,500 and a general climate that he says is not rewarding for those migrating to Israel illegally.
He also took issue with the assumption many hold that the number is mainly made up of people who were detained in Holot and agreed to leave so as not to remain in prison. According to Sa'ar, of the 1,705, only 64, or 3.7% were in Holot or in Saharonim prison, the rest were living in Israeli cities.
Hmmm. I wonder how many 'Palestinians' would leave for $3,500 each. Just sayin'.... (By the way, that is not entirely an idle observation. Rabbi Meir Kahane suggested paying 'Palestinians' to leave 30 years ago).

'The disappearance of the Jewish state would not be a tragedy'

Israel has an illegal immigrant problem, with thousands of illegals arriving here from Africa via Egypt. While the problem's growth has largely been stopped by a border fence, the issue of what to do with the thousands of illegals who are here remains.

This week, the illegals have been demonstrating, first in Tel Aviv (pictured) and then in Jerusalem against an Israeli government policy of deporting them back to their home countries if the Israeli government deems their home countries to be safe. They are backed by radical leftist groups, including the infamous 'New Israel Fund.' The caption above the Tel Aviv demonstration picture reads 'the disappearance of the Jewish state would not be a tragedy.' The quote comes from Hedva Rabinovitch, Deputy Director General of the New Israel Fund, 2011. The New Israel Fund has been helping to organize the demonstrations.

The illegals accuse Israelis of racism saying that they are black, and we are white. That's an odd accusation to make at a country that took in thousands of Ethiopian Jews starting in the 1980's.

The issue isn't skin color. It's the fact that there is one and only one Jewish state in this world, and we think that state ought to stay Jewish. The fact that the Jewish state is an island of democracy and western capitalism surrounded by impoverished states with undemocratic governments doesn't mean we ought to suffer for being whom we are.

Al-Qaeda terrorists allowed into the US as 'refugees'

And they're not even illegals (except for the fact that they lied to get in).

Al-Qaeda terrorists have been allowed into the US as refugees according to a report on ABC News on Wednesday morning.

Let's go to the videotape.

Much more about this amazing story here (Hat Tip: Memeorandum).

I probably shouldn't but I find it amazing that US immigration messed up that badly with these people.

Illegal immigration can be stopped

Those of you in the American Southwest will appreciate this story. Over 10,000 immigrants entered Israel legally in 2012. Less than 100 entered in 2013. The difference is in the picture above - a fence along the Egyptian border, which was being used by illegals from Africa to cross into Israel.
There are currently some 53,636 African migrants in Israel, and only some 36 were caught crossing into the country in 2013, according to Population, Immigration, and Borders Authority (PIBA) statistics on foreigners in Israel published on Tuesday.

The numbers are a sharp contrast to the year before, when over the course of all of 2012, before the Egypt border fence was built, some 10,440 African migrants entered Israel illegally, according to PIBA figures from the beginning of 2013. In addition to the 36, a further 59 illegal migrants were caught by immigration officials elsewhere inside Israel, after having crossed the border undetected.

In a report issued back in April, the figure stood at 54,721, which would appear to indicate that 1,085 have either willingly left Israel or been reported over the past six months or so. In figures from late June 2012, the number stood at 57,193, a difference of 3,557. That number is higher than official estimates that have been given by government officials, which have varied from 1,000-2,000.

The 53,336 figure for October 2013 includes 35,987 migrants from Eritrea (67%), 13,249 from Sudan (25%), and 4,400 from other countries.

The figures also state that there are some 69,449 legal foreign workers in Israel, as well as 14,847 illegal foreign workers, and 93,000 tourists on overstayed visas.
Tell that to your Congresscritter.

19 years after immigrating to the US, authorities catch up with 'Palestinian' terrorist

Meet Rasmieh Yousef Odeh. The 66-year old Chicagoan immigrated to the US from Jordan in 1995, and was naturalized in 2004. On her immigration papers, the 'Palestinian' forgot to mention that she had been convicted of carrying out a terror attack on a Jerusalem supermarket in 1969. Now, she could lose her American citizenship.

The indictment was handed down in Detroit, where at least part of Odeh's naturalization process took place. Odeh moved to the Chicago area shortly after gaining citizenship in Detroit in 2004, said Khaalid Walls, a spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Prosecutors said she was arrested Tuesday morning at her home in Evergreen Park, southwest of Chicago.

If convicted of immigration fraud, Odeh could face up to 10 years in a U.S. prison. She could also be stripped of her U.S. citizenship.

Her attorney, James Fennerty, declined to comment Tuesday about the allegations, but said Odeh worked as an associate director at the Arab American Action Network, a Chicago-area nonprofit group that advocates for new immigrants and tries to combat anti-Muslim and anti-Arab prejudice.

According to the indictment, Odeh was arrested over a 1969 attack in which bombs were planted at a crowded Jerusalem supermarket and at the British consulate. One of two bombs placed at the supermarket exploded, killing two people and wounding several others. Israeli authorities said the attacks were planned by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

An Israeli military court sentenced Odeh to life in prison in 1970, but she was released 10 years later in a prisoner exchange with the PFLP, when Israel released 76 prisoners in exchange for an Israeli soldier captured in Lebanon, according to Odeh's indictment.
It must be 'Islamophobia, right?

I wonder how many more of these there are in the US....

Hezbullah invades America's Southwest

If they're running drugs from Mexico, I suppose it's inevitable that they're also in the American Southwest.
Terrorism expert Matthew Levitt writes that an increasing number of U.S. prison inmates have tattoos that are pro-Hezbollah or are in Farsi, the language spoken in Iran. The claim is made in Levitt’s new book, Hezbollah: The Global Footprint of Lebanon's Party of God.
“Law enforcement officials across the Southwest are reporting a rise in imprisoned gang members with Farsi tattoos” and some express loyalty to Hezbollah.
His book includes an eye-opening quote from another official: “You could almost pick your city and you would probably have a [Hezbollah] presence.”
Hezbollah’s business relationship with Mexican drug cartels is seen as a driving force behind the phenomenon.
Let's go to the videotape.

Read it all. And think about what will happen if the Obama administration succeeds in making them all legal.

King Barack should implement law on 'Jerusalem, Israel'

You will recall that my friend Ari Zivotofsky has a court case going trying to get the US State Department to refer to his son Menachem's birthplace as "Jerusalem, Israel" on his US passport. The issue in the case is the State Department's refusal to list young Menachem's birthplace as "Jerusalem, Israel" despite an act of Congress decreeing that it should be so listed if the parents so choose.

Now, hold that thought and consider this from Mark Steyn with respect to Obamacare:
Jonah yesterday, apropos ObamaCare and the postponement of the employer mandate, said we were now living under an “arbitrary system” in which “the political arm of the White House gets to decide what laws are going to be enforced and which ones aren’t“.
I made a similar point guest-hosting for Rush last Friday, noting that this was one of the indictments against George III in the Declaration of Independence:
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
When legislatures pass laws but the head of state decides which ones he’ll implement and which he won’t, that is a monarchy – and not a constitutional but an absolute one.

...

President Obama has developed a habit of “dispensing with and suspending” all manner of laws from health care to immigration. If he gets to choose which laws he’ll enforce, do we get to choose which laws we follow?
From health care to immigration to Jerusalem, Mark? I think so.
