Video: Heartbroken mother of terror victim talks about her dead son
Many of you probably remember Rasmieh Odeh, the 'Palestinian' terrorist who lied about not having a criminal conviction when she applied for US citizenship and was caught and convicted (sentencing in about a month).
My friend Professor Jacobson has just uncovered this 2009 video interview with Roslyn Joffe, the mother of Edward Joffe, HY"D (May God Avenge his blood), who died in the bombing carried out by Odeh. Mrs. Joffe was dying at the time. You never forget losing a loved one to terrorism, God Forbid.
On November 10, 2014, a
federal jury in Detroit found
Rasmieh (Rasmea) Yousef Odeh guilty of illegally procuring naturalization by
falsely answering questions whether she "EVER" had been convicted or
imprisoned. Odeh murdered two Israelis
in a Jerusalem supermarket bombing in 1969. She was convicted in Israel
and imprisoned for life, before being released in a 'prisoner
exchange.' The Americans - despite urging (and more) Israel to release
'Palestinian' terrorists - are smart enough not to want them living among them even 45 years after their crimes took place. Professor William Jacobson explains why you shouldn't feel sorry for her.
The pro-Odeh narrative runs something like this: Odeh was just a
political activist prior to Israeli arrest, picked up as part of a mass
arrest of 500 or more people with no evidence of involvement in terror.
Odeh gave a false confession after 25 days of horrific sexual torture,
including gang rape, being forced to watch another prisoner tortured to
death, and failed attempts to coerce her father into raping her. Odeh
was denied the ability to defend herself, was denied access to counsel
in the Israeli military court, and did not receive a fair trial.
That narrative does not hold up based on the record.
The demonstrable facts show that:

Prior to her arrest in Israel, Odeh was a military participant in and
organizer for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
■
Odeh confessed in a highly detailed account just one day after arrest.
The timetable of her confession is inconsistent with the multi-week
torture narrative. Other co-conspirators also quickly confessed; one of
whom directly implicated Odeh as the mastermind in a 2004 film
documentary.

After arrest Odeh was allowed to and did defend herself in the Israeli
military court, where she was represented by counsel. Israel called
witnesses to rebut the torture allegations.
■
An observer from the International Red Cross was present for the entire
six-month Israeli trial, and stated afterward that the Israeli military
court "had given the accused every chance of defending themselves, and
the trial was – in his opinion – a fair trial."

The only victims in the Rasmea Odeh story are the two Hebrew University students killed in the 1969 supermarket bombing.
Read the whole thing. Then ask yourself how much hypocrisy the Obama administration is showing by asking us to release these people.
The future is now: Detroit 'Palestinian' accused of jury tampering in trial of fellow 'Palestinian'
A Detroit 'Palestinian' is being accused of tampering with the jury hearing the case of another 'Palestinian' who is charged with violations of US naturalization law (Hat Tip: Mike P).
In a motion filed Friday in connection with the upcoming trial of
Rasmea Odeh, prosecutors accuse activist Hatem Abudayyeh of the
Chicago-based Arab American Action Network and other demonstrators of
mounting protests aimed at swaying a yet-to-be named jury in Odeh's
case. The motion asks that the names of jurors not be made public or
revealed to the defendant or her lawyers and that the jury be assembled
off-site to avoid encountering the protesters.
"Since the date of defendant’s arrest for naturalization fraud, Hatem
Abudayyeh has orchestrated a concerted effort to influence the criminal
proceedings against defendant, which has resulted, at each proceeding,
in a large group outside the Courthouse protesting and parading,
carrying signs demanding dismissal of charges and 'Justice for Rasmea'
and displaying the Palestinian flag," prosecutors wrote in the new
motion (posted here).
"Abudayyeh has publicly stated that a goal of filling the courtroom,
rallying outside the courthouse, and chanting while holding posters is
to influence the opinions of jurors....As is evident from Mr.
Abudayyeh’s own statements, it is his goal, and that of his supporters,
to tamper with the prospective and seated jurors in order to sway the
jury in defendant’s favor."
The motion, which makes clear that law enforcement has been keeping a
very close eye on Odeh's supporters, also complains about them
attempting to "flood Department of Justice telephone lines in an attempt
to influence" the court proceedings.
Abudayyeh, who serves as executive director of the AAAN, did not
respond to an e-mail and phone message seeking comment for this post. He
visited the White House in 2010
for an invitation-only briefing for Arab-American leaders. In addition,
President Barack Obama has some historical ties to the Chicago-based
Arab-American group, having spoken at an event it sponsored in 2003.

It is highly unusual for prosecutors to name an individual in a court
filing and suggest his or her involvement in a crime in the absence of
formal charges against the person. The motion is also unusual for
quoting an alleged statement by Abudayyeh, asserting that he said that
he planned to be "contentious" in a conversation with deputy U.S.
marshals, without submitting any proof of the remark. (Detroit federal
courts seem more tolerant of such submissions.)
It's also not immediately clear from the government's filing why
restricting information about the trial and the jury would be the first
step in addressing the concern about jury tampering rather than acting
against those alleged to be creating such a danger.

The site said it had received the data from an anonymous source. It said the data came with a statement that “alleges that the below-named individuals are active duty Israeli Air Force pilots that have apparently participated in war crimes. A web search provides some corroboration of the data and until now we have found no discrepancies.”
Israeli censorship laws prohibits the publication of the names and faces of soldiers and officers who fill sensitive combat positions, including pilots, so as to protect their personal security.
The site recommended that its readers use the data to “gather more information, possibly including questioning and potential prosecution of the named individuals when they travel abroad.”
The site’s co-founder told The Times of Israel on Thursday that his organization did not have any specific objective in mind when it published the material. It was meant for “informational purposes only” so others can take action against the pilots.
When asked whether his organization was concerned that publishing the material could place pilots’ lives at risk, the organization’s representative responded that Israeli pilots “assume risk” by being in the military and that publishing their names and photos was “protecting a lot of people.”
In the statement published on the site, the ostensible source of the data leak stated that “the well-being of Israel is temporary and can be undermined. It is obtained through crushing the liberties of its subjects.”
The statement charged that the pilots whose data it released “have chosen to harness their skills in the spreading of mass destruction over towns and villages throughout Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon,” and that the information should be spread “as widely as possible.”
The IDF Spokesperson’s unit said that the list was “factually incorrect,” but was nonetheless “yet another attempt by anti-Israel bodies to undermine Israel’s right to self-defense.”
'Palestinian Authority' recalls 'diplomat' from Canada for retweeting offensive video
The 'Palestinian Authority' has recalled its charge d'affairs from Ottowa, Linda Sobeh Ali, after she retweeted a video that was offensive to Jews.
The decision to recall Linda Sobeh Ali, the chargé d’affaires to the Palestinian delegation in Ottawa, was taken after the Canadian government announced that it would “limit communications” with her because of the video until a replacement is selected.
According to reports in Canadian media outlets, Linda Sobeh Ali recently tweeted a link to a YouTube video of a Palestinian girl reciting a poem in Arabic.
The video is accompanied by subtitles that call on millions to join “a war that raze the injustice and oppression and destroy the Jews.”
Some, however, have questioned the English translation of the video, saying the girl is only calling for a “war against the soul of Zionism.”
In an interview with CTV, a tearful Sobeh Ali confirmed that the PA government had called her home. She said she would have never retweeted the link had she known what it contained.
“I regret the unfortunate incident and it was a retweet – unintentional and very unfortunate,” the PA envoy said in a statement.
She said that the incident had been “intentionally magnified and misinterpreted by certain lobbying groups.”
I'm amazed that anyone found out about this. I could not find the offending tweet (it was probably removed), but this woman has a total of 68 tweets and 14 (count 'em) followers.
