Long arm of Sharia: Iran hangs man accused of murder in California

Iran has hanged a man (not this picture) who was accused of committing murder in California.
A human rights organization claimed on Tuesday that an Iranian-American man had been hanged by the Islamic regime for committing murder in California.
...
“According to confirmed sources, Iranian authorities carried out the death sentence for Hamid Samiee and another prisoner at Karaj’s Rajai Shahr Prison on Wednesday November 4,” Iran Human Rights, a nonprofit organization that claims to have sources within Iran, disclosed on Tuesday.
“Samiee, reportedly accused of committing an act of murder in California, was arrested by Iranian authorities upon his return to Iran,” according to the organization’s report. “He was sentenced to death by Branch 71 of Tehran’s Criminal Court for the murder of an Iranian man identified as Behrouz Janmohammadi.”
“Confirmed sources say Samiee was arrested in 2008 after the murder victim’s family had reported him to Iranian authorities,” according to Iran Human Rights.
Samiee and Janmohammadi were reportedly friends living in Californian until an altercation took place between them, according sources who spoke to the human rights organization.
...
A State Department official told the Free Beacon Tuesday afternoon that Samiei is a dual citizen and that it is looking into the reports on his hanging.
“We are aware of reports of the execution in Iran of a dual citizen, Mr. Hamid Samiei,” said the State Department official, who was not authorized to speak on record. “We do not yet have official confirmation of his death and are seeking more information.”
The State Department has been aware of Samei’s plight since late October, the source said.
“This case was brought to our attention on October 28, immediately after the Foreign Interests Section at the Swiss Embassy in Tehran was notified of Mr. Samiei’s impending execution,” the official said. “We are not aware of any notification to the Department of State or the Swiss Foreign Interests Section of Mr. Samiei’s arrest, sentencing, or imprisonment prior toOctober 28. Iran does not recognize dual nationality.”
The Iranians often leave the State Department in the dark when it detains dual nations, the source said.
“The Iranian government does not notify the Department of State when it detains dual nationals,” according to the official. “We generally learn about these cases through the detainees’ family or friends. Once we learned about this case, through the Swiss we asked for a stay of execution and expressed our deep concerns about the apparent lack of due process in this case.”
And we're going to trust this 'justice' system with nukes?

Muslims threaten to murder Pam Geller, media silent or cheering

I find the lack of a harsh reaction in the US media to threats against the life of Pamela Geller - the prominent blogger and organizer of last weekend's Mohammed cartoon drawing contest - incredible. Her life was threatened  by the monsters from Islamic State earlier this week, but perhaps even more incredible is this clip from Fox News that went up a short time ago.

Radical Imam Anjem Choudary told Pamela Geller tonight on Hannity that she should be tried in Shariah Court and slaughtered... for speaking out against radical Islam.

Let's go to the videotape.

But it's not just the media. The United States government is ignoring its most basic task: To protect its citizens. Pamela Geller told Sean Hannity tonight that she reached out to the FBI but has not heard back from them after ISIS issued a death threat against her on Tuesday. Homeland Security has also not contacted her.

Let's go to the videotape.

@SamsClub (a subsidiary of Walmart) donates $2,500 to Florida mosque named after Hamas 'military wing'

It was recently discovered that the popular American wholesaler Sam's Club, a subsidiary of Walmart, donated $2,500 to a Tampa, Florida mosque named after Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades (Hat Tip: Ellen S).
A Florida Family Association supporter happened to look up at the wall behind the checkout line at the Sam’s Club located at 2021 Brandon Boulevard in Brandon, Florida.  He saw a large photograph of a check made out from Sam’s Club in the amount of $2,500 payable to the Islamic Community of Tampa located in the top left prominent position on the wall.  Florida Family Association snapped a cellphone photograph.   Photographs indicated that no other non-profit organization received more than $500.
...

  • The Islamic Community of Tampa is also known as the Al-Qassam mosque.    The Military Wing of the Palestinian Hamas is called the Al-Qassam Brigade. InvestigativeProject.org reports “The mosque, according to Sami Al-Arian, was named after Izzedin al-Qassam.   Al-Qassam, a Syrian killed fighting the British mandate in 1935, ‘is the main source of inspiration for the Islamic Jihad movement’ Palestinian scholar Ziad Abu Amr wrote in his book, Islamic Fundamentalism in the West Bank and Gaza. ‘The Islamic Jihad’s supporters have elevated him almost to a saintly status.’”
  • ...
  • Sami Al-Arian was indicted in February 2003 on 17 counts under the Patriot Act for allegedly being the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).   In 2006, Al-Arian pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to make or receive contributions of funds, goods or services for the benefit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and was sentenced to 57 months in prison.
  • Sami Al-Arian refused to testify before a Federal Grand Jury regarding other Jihad activities.  U.S. District Judge James Moody ruled that Al-Arian must testify. A Virginia District Court held that Sami Al-Arian had no legal basis to refuse to testify. The court held him in civil contempt, and imprisoned him on November 16, 2006.  Sami Al-Arian was released from prison on June 27, 2014 after the United States Department of Justice dropped charges.

This is rich... Guess which country is being threatened into complying with Sharia law....

A Muslim terrorist group is threatening a 9/11-type attack in Norway if a section of Oslo isn't turned into Sharia-compliant territory.
The Norwegian news portal VG Nett is reporting that a Muslim terrorist group, Ansar al-Sunna’, is threatening that if a section of the nation's capitol isn't transformed into a sharia-complaint Muslim nation, an attack rivaling 9/11 will be launched upon the Scandinavian nation.
VG Nett has stated that the Norwegian Police Security Service (Politiets sikkerhetstjeneste - PST) is already familiar with many members of this particular terror group.
As translated by Michael Laudahn,
"If norwegian soldiers can take planes to Afghanistan, then Osama and Mohammed can also take planes to Norway, inshaAllah.
Now, the government must wake up and assume responsibility, before this war spreads to Norway. Before the counterpart reacts. Before moslems take the step necessary.
Do not confuse the moslems’ silence with weakness. Do not profit from the moslems’ patience. Do not force us to do something that can be avoided. This is not a threat, only the words of truth. The words of justice.
A warning that the consequences can be fatal. A warning about a 9/11 on norwegian ground, or larger attacks than the one carried out on 22 july. This is for your own good and in your own best interest.’
We do not want to be a part of norwegian society. And we do not consider it necessary either to move away from Norway, because we were born and grew up here. And Allah’s earth belongs to everybody.
But let Grønland become ours. Bar this city quarter and let us control it the way we wish to do it. This is the best for both parts.
We do not wish to live together with dirty beasts like you."
'22 July' is of course a reference to the attacks carried out on that date three years ago by Anders Breivik, a 'normal Norwegian boy,'  who set off a bomb in Oslo and then went to a youth camp in Utoya and opened fire with a machine gun on a camp run by the ruling Labor party, murdering approximately 98 people. The Muslim terrorists would like to exceed that total.

And why did I say that this entire story is 'rich'? Because Norway is arguably the most anti-Semitic country in Europe. Here's what was going on in that youth camp the day before Breivik committed his terror attack:

Yes, they were practicing to sail to Gaza.

'You didn't really think we'd free an apostate, did you?'

The Sudanese government is denying Sunday's report that a Christian woman - married to an American citizen - who has been sentenced to death for apostasy is to be freed.
“[I am] not aware that any release is imminent,” Abu Bakr al-Sideeg, spokesman for the Sudanese foreign ministry, stated Sunday.
Meriam Yahia Ibrahim Ishag was sentenced to death on May 15, in accordance with Sharia law. Sharia law outlaws Muslim women marrying non-Muslim men - and outlaws conversion under pain of death. Ishag, who has refused to renounce her faith, also gave birth to a baby girl Tuesday.
Ishag's husband, US citizen Daniel Wani, also denied that her release was imminent.
“No Sudanese or foreign mediator contacted me. Maybe there are contacts between the Sudanese government and foreign sides that I’m not aware of,” Wani told BBC. “As far as I’m concerned I will wait for the appeal which my lawyer submitted and I hope that my wife will be released.”
Manar Idriss, Sudan researcher for Amnesty International, reiterated that reports of a release remain unconfirmed.
“We’ve received no confirmation that Meriam is going to be released and the appeal court has yet to issue any such ruling confirming a release," she said.
Ishag was born to a Muslim father, but has insisted that she herself is not guilty of "apostasy," as she is not Muslim.
According to the British Telegraph, she even produced a marriage certificate as evidence that she had not committed adultery, and called three witnesses from her home town to testify of her lifelong adherence to Christianity.
Sharia court ultimately disagreed, and sentenced her to death and 100 lashes for "adultery." The death sentence is not due to be carried out until 2016.
How 'humane' of them. They're going to let her nurse her newborn child for two years before they murder her.

Christian woman sentenced to hang in Sudan to be freed

A rare win for the good guys.

A Sudanese foreign ministry official has told AFP that a Christian Sudanese woman who was sentenced to hang for apostacy will be released.
Meriam Yahia Ibrahim Ishag was condemned to death on May 15 under the Islamic Sharia law that has been in place in Sudan since 1983 and which outlaws conversions under pain of death.
"The lady will be freed within days in line with legal procedure that will be taken by the judiciary and the ministry of justice," Abdullah al-Azraq, a foreign ministry undersecretary, told AFP.
Azraq, who spoke via telephone from London, did not elaborate.
The 27-year-old gave birth to a baby girl on Tuesday in a women's prison in Khartoum's twin city of Omdurman.
Her husband, U.S. citizen Daniel Wani, visited Ishag and the baby on Thursday, after being denied access earlier in the week, and told AFP both were in "good health."
Ishag was born to a Muslim father but told the court during her trial that she had never been a Muslim herself.
The court gave her three days to "recant" her faith and when she refused, Ishag was handed the death penalty and sentenced to 100 lashes for "adultery".
Under Sudan's interpretation of Sharia, a Muslim woman cannot marry a non-Muslim man, so any such relationship is regarded as adulterous.
Especially given that her husband is a US citizen, she should leave Sudan and move to the US. You have to wonder how many more cases there are like this that we never hear about because there are no westerners involved.

The new world capital of Islamic finance

On the London-Tel Aviv leg of my flight on Tuesday, I was sitting next to a Leftist, professor-looking type (so I conclude from the facts that he spoke unaccented Hebrew, read English and had a very different meal than mine) who was reading an article in the Financial Times about Britain's intent to become the largest Islamic banking center in the world outside the Middle East.
The latest pro-City move will be unveiled on Tuesday at the ninth World Islamic Economic Forum, known as the “Islamic Davos”. The Treasury hopes to launch a bond-like sukuk worth about £200m next year.
The plan – which has been worked on for many years – will be announced by David Cameron and is endorsed by Mr Osborne in the Financial Times as a means of stimulating Islamic investment in London and Britain.
“While others in the western world resist change, this government is embracing it: banging the drum for British businesses, seeking out new markets, welcoming overseas investment with open arms,” the chancellor writes.
Islam prohibits interest, so sukuk bonds entitle investors to a share in the returns generated by an underlying asset. In the case of the British bond, it is likely to be backed by rental streams on central government property. [I wonder where they got that idea. CiJ].
Mr Osborne hopes that corporate institutions will follow suit and issue sukuk bonds, promoting Islamic investment and generating more cash to fund British infrastructure.
Mr Cameron will also tell the London conference of plans for a new Islamic index at the London Stock Exchange as a means of identifying Islamic-compliant business activities.
However the Treasury is conscious of the possible political ramifications of the plan, notably any suggestion that the issuance of a sukuk bond might require the British government to restrict its dealings with Israeli-owned businesses.
And of course the British government would never ever do that....

But what does it mean when the British government is creating a huge bond issue that's designed for Muslim investors? Soeren Kern believes that the British government is on a path to establish two parallel financial systems - one like every other western economy and one that is Islamic. and this quote from British Prime Minister David Cameron sounds downright ominous.
Cameron said the new Islamic bond index on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) would help stimulate fixed-income investments from Muslim investors -- especially investors from oil-rich Persian Gulf countries -- by helping them identify which listed companies adhere to Islamic principles.
Investors who practice Islamic finance -- which is said to be structured to conform to a strict code of ethics based on the Koran and Sharia law -- refuse to invest in companies that are linked to alcohol, gambling, pornography, tobacco, weapons or pork. Islamic finance also forbids collecting or paying interest and requires that deals be based on tangible assets.
And unlike the Financial Times, Kern believes that Israeli companies that hope to list in London might be hurt by this as well.
The Treasury also said some sukuk bond issues may require the British government to restrict its dealings with Israeli-owned companies in order to attract Muslim money.
Oh, and by the way, Islamic money is already a powerful force in London.
Britain is already the leading Western center for Islamic financial and related professional services. It is a leading provider of Sharia-compliant finance, with reported assets of $19 billion, according to Islamic Finance 2013, a new report published by The City UK, a financial sector lobby group.
Britain is home to 22 Islamic banks, of which six are fully Sharia-compliant. This is substantially more than in any other Western country or offshore center and is more than double the number in the United States.
In addition, 25 law firms are now supplying services in Islamic finance, which is increasingly being used for major infrastructure projects in London.
Islamic investment has financed London's Shard skyscraper -- the tallest building in the European Union -- and the 2012 Olympic Village. Middle Eastern investors own Harrods, London's most famous luxury department store, and the Manchester City football team.
Muslims also invested in projects such as the massive London Gateway port, the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station and Arsenal Football Club's Emirates Stadium.
Qualifications in Islamic finance are being offered by four professional institutes and at least 16 universities and business schools.
London is also a leader in Islamic retail banking services, with institutions offering a range of Islamic banking products, such as mortgages and car loans.
The growing demand for Islamic retail banking services is being propelled by the demographic transformation taking place in Britain. The Muslim population of Britain will top 3.3 million sometime before the end of 2013 to reach around 5.2% of the overall population of 63 million, according to figures extrapolated from a recent study on the growth of the Muslim population in Europe.
This demographic earthquake -- which is being attributed to large-scale immigration, coupled with high Muslim birth rates and growing numbers of British converts -- is transforming the country's business landscape.
The Guardian notes that the British government has already had to step in once to ensure there was no discrimination against Israel.
The government moved on Monday night to offer assurances that the Islamic bond, or Sukuk, and the Islamic index would not encourage investments that discriminate against Israel. Boris Johnson was forced to order Transport for London to rewrite the contract for the Emirates Thames cable car in the summer amid fears that Israeli companies could have been blocked from involvement in the project. The United Arab Emirates does not recognise the state of Israel.
The Emirates Thames cable car is a cable car that crosses the Thames River near Greenwich, and is included  in the Oyster card, the London public transport card.

But if you're a Brit, here's what ought to sound most ominous.
Speaking on a stage that included Jordanian King Abdullah and the Sultan of Brunei, Cameron dismissed criticism of increasing foreign ownership in Britain: "I know some people look at foreign companies investing in our businesses, financing our infrastructure or taking over our football clubs and ask, shouldn't we do something to stop it? Well, let me tell you, the answer is no."
I guess Cameron thinks he won't be around by the time they say 'convert or die.' What could go wrong?

Video: Kuwaiti MP's defend dealing with Israel

Two Kuwaiti MP's have gone on television in recent weeks to defend their government's purchase of equipment for their security forces from the State of Israel. These kinds of deals were always made in the  background, but for them to be acknowledged openly by the legislators of a Muslim country on television is really quite shocking.

Notice the dig at how little the Arab world to defend Kuwait against Iraq during the lead-up to and during the First Gulf War.

Mother of 14-year old executed by Islamists speaks

I am sure that many of you remember the story of Muhammad Qatta, who was murdered two weeks ago by Islamist Syrian rebels for 'cursing the prophet.'

The London Telegraph's Richard Spencer spoke with Nadia Umm Fuad, Muhammad's mother. Her story makes Muhammad's murder sound even more outrageous (Hat Tip: Memeorandum).
Mohammed was 14 when he was killed, earlier this month, prompting international condemnation. He has become a symbol of the fears many Syrians have for the future of a country where jihadists are vying with the regime for control.
He is a counterweight – the comparison was Nadia Umm Fuad's – to Hamza al-Khatib, the 13-year-old from Deraa in southern Syria returned by regime troops to his parents battered, genitals removed, kneecaps smashed, burned and with three gunshot wounds, early in the uprising.
Mohammed was working at the family's coffee stall in the Shaar district of Aleppo when he made a fatal mistake. Pressured by a customer to hand over a coffee on promise of payment, he shouted good-humouredly: "I wouldn't give the Prophet Mohammed credit if he came here today." He was overheard by two men on the opposite corner. Marching over, they whisked him away in a car, ignoring his protestations of his love for the Prophet and the objections of a militiaman from the Free Syrian Army nearby. Half an hour later, they returned. According to Mohammed's younger brother and the neighbours, he was staggering and fell to his knees, and had clearly been beaten. A bag had been placed over his head.
"I heard them say, 'People of Aleppo and people of Shaar! Anyone who curses God is given three days to repent. Anyone who curses the Prophet is killed immediately'," Nadia Umm Fuad said.
The murder of Mohammed, a drummer boy in the revolution's early protest marches, has shocked even the battle-hardened people of Aleppo. It is easy for some to blame, as they do, the regime for inserting spies behind rebel lines to carry out atrocities to discredit the rebels.
But the killing, to many, only confirms what they already know: that a wild and untamed version of the most militant Islamist credos has entered the conflict. Jabhat al-Nusra, the local affiliate of al-Qaeda, has issued a statement condemning the death and denying responsibility.
Jabhat al-Nusra, though, is no longer the most militant group operating in Aleppo, strange though that sounds.
The group has split between a largely local faction, which believes its mission is simply to rid the country of President Bashar al-Assad and implement Islamic rule, and a group swearing loyalty to the region's most brutal al-Qaeda version, the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, whose leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has tried to merge both countries' branches.
Many foreign jihadists are loyal to the latter. Others have formed their own battalions, such as Jaish Muhajireen wa Ansar, led by a Chechen. Nadia Umm Fuad thinks it was foreign fighters who killed her son, as they spoke classical Arabic rather than the local dialect.
Read the whole thing.

Anyone who can should get out of Syria as soon as possible. Unfortunately, this doesn't sound like it's going to be 'fixed' in any of our lifetimes. Isn't it great when the 'world's only superpower' decides to take a back seat?

Saudi textbooks teach how to chop hands and feet, how to exterminate Jews

Textbooks paid for by the Saudi government teach high school students how to cut off thieves' hands and feet in compliance with Islamic Sharia law. They also teach the students that Jews should be exterminated and that homosexuals should be put to death.
Barbaric textbooks handed out in Saudi Arabian schools teach children how to cut off a thief's hands and feet under Sharia law, it has emerged.

The shocking books, paid for and printed by the Saudi government, also tell teenagers that Jews need to be exterminated and homosexuals should be 'put to death'.

Recent editions were obtained by the Institute for Gulf Affairs in Washington, D.C.....

The books were published and handed out to 9th and 10th-graders despite Saudi Arabia's promises to clean up textbooks in the kingdom.

...

The textbooks were printed for the 2010-2011 academic year and translated from Arabic by the institute.

In one, for ninth-graders, students are taught the annihilation of the Jewish people is imperative.

One text reads in part: 'The hour (of judgment) will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them. There is a Jew behind me come and kill him.'
I don't know why anyone should be shocked. I'd bet that the same textbooks are used throughout the Arab world, including among the 'Palestinians.' We already know that they're used in Britain (see also here) and the United States. Then again, the 'Palestinians' have their own textbooks....

Video: Sharia on the horizon in Syria

If Bashar al-Assad is toppled, his replacement is likely to be an Islamist regime that implements Muslim Sharia law.

Let's go to the videotape. More after the video.

The embedded video, from Saraqeb in the Idlib province of northwestern Syria, shows the carrying out of sentences handed down by a rebel sharia field court.

Hundreds of local residents gathered to hear the sentence being pronounced by a rebel. Two residents were found guilty of offenses against sharia and sentenced to 40-50 lashes each.
The elder man was convicted of having his daughter, who had divorced her first husband, married to a second man during the "cooling off" period of three months required by sharia law. He did this ten days before the 3-month period had ended and was sentenced to 50 lashes.
I have no idea what the second guy did.

80,000 Syrians died for this?

The power of Arab spring is the imposition of a perfect slavery

Andy McCarthy rips the fantasy of the Arab spring.
Like the sequester molesters, “Arab Spring” devotees have their own fantasy vocabulary. The whoppers are “freedom” and “democracy,” the ideals, we’re told, that have swept the Middle East, even as it sinks into repression, social unrest, and the persecution of religious minorities.
Islam and the West use the same words, but we are not conveying the same concepts — just as a “cut” in your budget means something very different from a “cut” in Washington’s.
Freedom? “Let it be known to you that the real meaning of freedom lies in the perfection of slavery,” explained al-Qushayri, a celebrated eleventh-century scholar of Islam.
I offer this bit of Islamist wisdom as an explanation, not a put-down. Not that the distinction matters much. As Spring Fever makes clear, the culture of Middle Eastern Islam is convinced of nothing so much as its own superiority. It does not judge itself by non-Islamic standards, particularly the standards of Western civilization, with which it sees itself in a conflict that will end only when one side prevails.
The dynamic, classical, supremacist Islam of the Middle East teaches that Allah has given mankind, His creation, the gift of sharia: the “path,” the all-purpose societal framework — covering all aspects of life, not just spirituality — for living in dignity through obedience.
“Freedom,” in this context, is to make the “free” choice to surrender oneself entirely to this path.
That is the antithesis of a freedom to chart one’s own course, the freedom of the West. Here, Allah is not the sovereign. Our faiths may guide us, but the people are sovereign, with a right to govern civil society as they see fit — including in contradiction of sharia’s provisions, which deny what the West sees as basic civil rights.
Read it all.

Sharia enters the 21st century: Iran shows off new machine to amputate thieves' fingers

Just in the nick of time, Islamic Sharia law is moving into the 21st century. On Wednesday, Iran introduced a new saw-like machine that amputates thieves' fingers. Surprisingly, the introduction was highly publicized (Hat Tip: MFS - The Other News).
One of Iran’s official press agencies published photos showing the public amputation of a thief's fingers on Wednesday. These show a man getting his finger chopped off with a machine resembling a rotary saw.

WARNING: These images may shock viewers.

We contacted many of our Observers in Iran to ask them about this machine. Some of them had heard about it before, but many discovered its existence through these morbid photographs, which were reportedly taken on Thursday. According to the INSA press agency, the man shown getting his finger cut off was charged with robbery and adultery by a court in the southwestern city of Shiraz. He was also accused of being at the head of a criminal organisation. On top of losing one of his fingers, he was sentenced to three years in prison and 99 whip lashes.

No independent witnesses were able to recount the circumstances under which this amputation took place. Four photos of the scene published by the press agency were widely relayed on social media networks. Strangely enough, the man’s face did not betray any signs of suffering in the photos, though it is possible that he might have been drugged.
How humane! I'm sure Iran will be praised by the United Nations 'human rights council' when this topic comes up at their universal periodic review. What could go wrong?

The coffee the jihadis drink

You can bet that this is one brand of coffee I will avoid.... At least for now.
What do Caribou Coffee, Church’s Chicken, J. Jill, and PODS Moving and Storage have in common?
They are all owned by Muslim Brotherhood-linked Arcapita Bank (formerly known as First Islamic Investment Bank).
Unlike most banks, Arcapita boasts a “spiritual advisor”–none other than Hamas-linked terrorist Youssef al-Qaradawi. Qaradawi, you’ll remember, is the current spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood. He was exiled from Egypt under Mubarak, but now he’s b-a-a-ack, thanks to U.S. support of the “Arab Spring”.

...

Arcapita, presumably short for “Arab Capital”, buys and sells businesses at a profit. The current list of their holdings is available in their 2011 annual statement (pages 12-13). (If there’s no “exit date” listed, they still own that company.)
Arcapita is based in Bahrain, but it’s U.S. HQ is in Atlanta. First Islamic Investment Bank changed its name to Arcapita in 2005, after the Qaradawi connection went public. They had tried “Crescent Capital” for their American branch, but apparently decided the Islamic link was still too obvious with that moniker. Muslims know that Islam is not selling well in the West; they are careful to conceal Islamic ties with name-changes so consumers cannot connect the dots to brand names or distinguish between products that fund terrorism and those that do not.
Arcapita’s spiritual advisor serves on the bank’s “Shari’ah Supervisory Board” (see p. 113) to ensure that all financial transactions are shari’a-compliant, or SCF. What does SCF include? That varies somewhat depending on which Islamic legal school one is consulting, but always bans anything involving “gambling, alcohol, pornography, dealing in pork products, or interest payments.”
To see why I may be able to enjoy Caribou coffee sometime soon, read the whole thing.

Concerned about Egypt?

Are you concerned about the Muslim Brotherhood's Mohammed Morsy winning Egypt's elections? Should you be? Well, if you're an Israeli, most of us think the answer is "yes." And if you're not an Israeli? Cal Thomas believes that you should be concerned too.
Morsi, who was educated in America, mouths the words the West wants to hear. He speaks of being president of "all Egyptians," promising to honor all international agreements made by the Hosni Mubarak regime.

A cleric, Safwat Higazi, introduced Morsi at a May 1 campaign rally and stated the Brotherhood's objective: "Our capital shall be Jerusalem, Allah willing." That seems to signal the real direction in which Morsi could take his country. It is certainly in line with Muslim Brotherhood thinking.

After more than three years of pandering and apologizing to the Islamic world, the Obama administration has produced a tree bearing rotten fruit. The White House congratulated Morsi on his victory. What else could it do? It won't admit error or acknowledge that the Arab Spring is starting to resemble a Siberian winter.

Iran continues its nuclear weapons program and threatens to wipe the "Zionist entity" off the map. Russian President Vladimir Putin visits Israel and urges Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to attack Iran, to which Russia has been providing nuclear technology. Should Egypt again become hostile to the Jewish state (the recent terror attacks from the Sinai border area are a sign that 32 years of stability there could unravel), Israel may be in greater peril than at any time in its modern history.

...

The Egyptian parliamentary election confirmed polling that indicates 60 percent of Egyptians favor complete adoption of Shariah law. Shariah does not require that future elections be held. Those polls also show an overwhelming majority of Egyptians want a religious government, stoning as a form of punishment, and limits on women and Christians in office.

...

The Muslim Brotherhood knows how Westerners think. It is playing us for fools. If we believe what has happened in Egypt and the upheavals in the rest of the Mideast will lead to democracy, human rights, equal rights for women and religious minorities, and freedom of speech and press, then we are fools.

Best Buy a proud platinum sponsor of CAIR

And to think that I just picked up a laptop from one of their New Jersey stores for Mrs. Carl last September.... Best Buy - the big discount electronics chain that's very prominent in the New York area - is a platinum sponsor of CAIR - a group that is closely linked to Hamas.
The struggling retail giant recently used profits from American consumers to fund the annual banquet of a group closely linked to Hamas. The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) recently listed Best Buy as a "Platinum Sponsor." Best Buy has refused to rule out future support for CAIR through numerous messages to its public relations department. The big box retailer is already in chaos amid the recent resignation of its CEO for personal misconduct, dwindling sales and bond downgrades.

The United States government named CAIR an "unindicted co-conspirator" to fund the terrorist group Hamas in America's most significant terror financing trial. The U.S. also identified CAIR as an agent of the Muslim Brotherhood, sharing the common goal of dismantling American institutions and turning the U.S. into a Sharia-compliant, Islamic state through incremental, stealth jihad.
Read the whole thing - they list lots of unsavory details about CAIR.
