Murder on Route 60: Police officer murdered in terror attack, three wounded
A police officer was murdered on Monday morning and three other police officers were wounded when 'Palestinian' terrorists opened fire on their vehicle near Al-Fawar junction south of Hebron. A map appears below:Four Israeli Policemen were shot by terrorists at the Al Fawar Junction south of Hebron on route 60. The wounded personnel were immediately evacuated to a hospital nearby. One officer was killed by the injuries he sustained. One is in moderate condition and two are in stable condition. The dead officer is Yehoshua (Shuki) Sofer, 39 HY"D (may God avenge his blood). He will be buried in Be'er Sheva at 6:00 Monday evening.
IDF security forces searched the area; however, it is not yet clear whether the shooting was carried out from a passing vehicle or a premeditatedly planted car.
An IDF checkpoint was removed from the area three weeks ago due to pressure from President Obama for a 'gesture' to the 'Palestinians.'
Fellow blogger Treppenwitz travels through the area every day, was there on Monday morning just before the attack, and notes:
Last night a Jewish resident of a town in Samaria was driving near his home when he saw what he thought was a police car's blue light signaling for him to pull over. The driver, who was physically handicapped, was dragged from his vehicle by Arabs, beaten, and left laying in the road while the assailants drove off in his car. This attack also took place just a short distance from a check-point that had just been removed.Read the whole thing.
And just two days before that, An Arab drove his car into two Border Patrol (Mishmar HaGvul) soldiers in East Jerusalem, and then tried to flee on foot. He was shot and killed by one of the soldiers after he failed to heed warning shots.
All these attacks, plus countless other smaller attacks using stones and molotov cocktails, have taken place in the short period since Israel began doing something that directly benefits the Palestinian population. And not a word of protest or denunciation is heard from the so-called 'moderate Palestinians... only celebration.
It has been several years since I stopped wearing a bullet proof vest on my daily commute (although I've continued to carry a pistol). I guess as hot and uncomfortable as it was (not to mention hell on my back), I'm going to have to go back to the vest.
Not driving on our roads is not an option.

"Not driving on our roads is not an option."
Really? (sarc)
The lie is sealed in granite that 'where' you are driving is occupied territory. (sarc)
After all, "the Palestinian state should be viable, contiguous and not resemble swiss cheese!"
Bottom line I am sorry to say, when our good friend spoke of "occupation" and the "daily humiliations of the Palestinian people" he didn't take you into consideration, believe me! Admit it or not, you the disposable Jew, the scape goat to appease those who wish us dead.
When he spoke of "those who harbor and promote terror..." he was not speaking of the Palestinians.

Keep packing your pistol. Sorry for your back, really. What a shame this is!
If the lies had been firmly denied by what 'was' our friend, when we supposedly HAD A FRIEND, you and others would not be in this situation today. If 'our friends' called him on it, your back would not be aching.
Take good care Carl.
Once again, those in charge of the government of Israel have Jewish blood on their hands.
Shy Guy and Carl - yes, the same Stupid Jews now flagellating themselves in the front of the world that wants Jewish blood, to show how nice they are. And here a Jewish cop is dead because of Stupid Jews who prioritize Palestinian convenience above Jewish safety.
What could go wrong indeed
NormanF.I would suggest you should go into politics to prevent 'Stupid Jews' from further messing things up. Ditto Shy Guy.
For all the sons, who lost their lives in the line of duty while other boys abstained, who are the stupid ones? Ditto the police officers who are in the line of fire.
The implications and the evils of politics is far more encompassing then any back seat driver (including myself)will ever know.
