Secretary of State Clinton on Meet the Press

Here are some (Israel-related) highlights from Secretary of State Clinton's appearance on Meet the Press on Sunday morning.

Let's go to the videotape. The first segment deals with Iran. The part about Israel in this segment starts about 3:18 and goes until about 6:08.

Note how she refuses to define the 'umbrella' and whether it includes a willingness to use nuclear weapons.

Also, it appears that the Obama administration has recognized that it cannot order Israel around and that if Israel wants to attack Iran, at least according to Clinton, the United States cannot stop it (although she still urges 'patience').

In this second segment, she's supposed to talk about the unclenched fists. Note what countries she cites: Iraq and India. She talks about Asia. She talks about the need for special envoys. But she doesn't talk about any fists that have been unclenched.

Let's go to the videotape.

We now have the sorry spectacle of a confirmed liar -- Clinton -- representing another confirmed liar -- Obama. Clinton came on "Meet the Press" with a single goal in mind: To spew forth propaganda for Obama's foreign policy. If she spoke one word of truth during the interview, I missed it. This is a bleak commentary on the American media, which is perfectly exemplified by David Gregory: lazy, supine, and completely unfamiliar with the concept of truth. Anyone who bets on that defensive shield becoming a reality must be nuts.
