Disengaged from reality: The 2004 Knesset debate on Gaza

This appeared on Channel 10 cable television last night. It includes (with translation) of highlights of the 2004 debate on 'disengaging' from Gaza and seeing how people voted. You will note how foolish the speakers look today and how many 'right wingers' (including Netanyahu) voted in favor. I tried to convince many of you otherwise, and was slammed at Little Green Footballs for being a 'Kahanist' because I was opposed to the 'disengagement.' Well, who was right?

Let's go to the videotape.

But first, if you haven't voted for me in the last 24 hours, please go here and vote for my blog, Israel Matzav, as the Best Midsize blog in the 2008 Weblog Awards. I am under attack by a couple of anti-Israel, moonbat blogs and every vote is critical (if you see I am ahead, you're missing the blogs that are trying to sneak up on me that have more votes than I do today).

And now, let's go to the videotape.

Yep. Even Bibi, the Great Savior, was for the Disengagement and voted for it. To this day, Israel's elite is characterized by their inability to admit they were guided by a "concept" that far from removing the danger of Gaza from Israel has instead brought Israel closer to being back in the heart of Gaza. They all knew but wanted to follow their hearts instead of their heads. The result is one for which Israelis and not just those on the front lines, are paying very dearly for today.
