It's official: Fourth terrrorist release is officially off

The fourth release of 'Palestinian' terrorists has officially been canceled in response to the applications made to the United Nations by the 'Palestinians.'
Israel has called off a planned release of Palestinian prisoners meant to advance peacemaking and called for the US-sponsored negotiations to be reviewed, an official briefed on the talks said on Thursday.
The official, who declined to be identified, said Israeli negotiators had informed their Palestinian counterparts of the decision in an overnight meeting held in an effort to avert a collapse of the troubled talks.
I'd bet that official is Netanyahu.
Chief Israeli negotiator Tzipi Livni commented on the matter, saying that "as the agreements on the release of prisoners were subject to upholding the Palestinian commitment not to go to the UN, new conditions have been created and Israel will not be able to free the prisoners."
"The sides should now review how it is possible to make progress in the negotiations." Livni continued and urged the Palestinians to withdraw from the new conventions they had signed.
Even Livni is toeing the party line. It's about time. .

but its a lie. The prisoner release was not called off in response to the Palestinians. The prisoner release was called off before the Palestinian decision to join international organizations and they are the ones responding to Israeli moves to cancel prisoner release. It was in the news for days before Palestine made any moves so really hard to change the reality of what happened here.

um no not true.

ZZ it was called off after the Palestinians demanded that 1,000 terrorists be released in addition to the original fourth tranch. The Israel government was *already* working with Kerry to release that group (minus Israeli Arab) plus 200 more when the Palestinians applied to the organizations. In addition Erkhat demanded that 1,000 *more* including Barghouti and 2 other high profile terrorists be released, *plus* Israel hand over area C to them *plus* arrange for 15,000 "refugees" to be reunited with *Israeli Arabs* under family unification plus plus plus. That's why Kerry stopped his shuttling. And then, then, after these steps Israel threw up its hands, formally shut down the release of the fourth installment of the Palestinian terror express and gave up on talks to follow that up with even more killers. Plus sanctions.

What was in the news for days was that the Palestinians were planning to walk out on talks after they got their prisoners. The fourth tranch was frozen not killed until Israel could get assurances the talks would not end up with the PLO taking back their own and then going to the UN. In the midst of consultations the Palestinians went ahead with their application and then on top of that essentially demanded that Israel cede the shetachiim to them, promise to deliver Jerusalem, and start, as a *precondition* to going back to the table to implement the "right of return".

This is not going to happen.
