Breaking: Barghouti not part of the deal after all

PA officials say they also asked Israel to release Barghouti, were told that was red line Israel not willing to cross.

But we are crossing the 'Israeli Arab' line?

That won't fly over too well with the Palestinian Arabs, who feel Israel double-crossed them.
I wouldn't be too surprised if they reject Israel's "sweetened" offer as not going far enough.
Israel now has two choices: to submit to Palestinian Arab blackmail in toto or to accept that the peace process is in fact dead.
There is a limit to how much more humiliation Israel can swallow and for the Israeli elite, having to admit the Oslo peace process has been a fraud from the very beginning is a blow to their legitimacy. Which leads to me think that in weighing which political poison they should imbibe, they'll take the humiliation before they ever admit they were wrong.
What could go wrong indeed
Pollard shmollard. With Barghouti off the table, but asked for, and Israeli Arabs on the table and delivered, then Israel could "ask" the PA to compensate the family of "shahid" Baruch Goldstein? In the Obama-Abbas lexicon of the day this would be about the biggest most hugest step the Israeli government could take to "demonstrate its commitment to peace..."
