Pizza Hut mocks 'hunger strike leader' Marwan Barghouti
Earlier this week, the leader of the 'Palestinian' terrorist 'hunger strike' for better cable TV, Marwan Barghouti, was caught on camera
eating a candy bar in the bathroom of his cell.
On Tuesday, Pizza Hut Israel released the ad below in which Barghouti is asked, 'if you're already going to break the [hunger] strike, why not at least have pizza?'
The ad was on Pizza Hut Israel's Facebook page, where it was quickly
removed.
With the Arab world
threatening to boycott Pizza Hut, Pizza Hut Lebanon
apologized on its Facebook page.

'Palestinian' 'hunger strike' 'leader' caught on camera (twice) sneaking a candy bar in the bathroom
Oh dear. Here's Marwan Barghouti, the supposed 'leader' of the 'Palestinian' terrorist 'hunger strike' in an Israeli prison caught - not once but twice - sneaking candy bars in the bathroom of his cell.
Let's go to the videotape.
I wonder how many 'hunger strikers' will continue if they see their 'fearless leader' in this video. Hope it's being broadcast on the big screen outside Ofer prison in Ramallah, where the worst of the terrorists live.

What a place for a tailgate party!
I have mentioned that there are some 'Palestinian' terrorists in Israeli jails who
claim to be on a
hunger strike.
In a move that's nothing short of brilliant, the National Union (Ichud Leumi) youth group has been holding a massive barbecue outside the Ofer Prison. The Ofer Prison is at the entrance to Ramallah along Route 443 and is the home of many high risk security prisoners. And the barbecue is enhanced by fans.
Let's go to the videotape.
The fumes have the 'Palestinians'
fuming.
The Wall Street Journal reported widespread Palestinian anger over the barbecue:
Palestinian newspapers on Friday condemned the barbecue as another aggression against the Palestinian people.
“How can anyone barbecue with the smell of meat near political
prisoners fighting for their country?” said Qadura Fares, head of the
Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, which supports the inmates. He spoke at a
demonstration Friday by dozens of Palestinians at Ofer prison, north of
Jerusalem.
Various anti-Israel groups have joined the chorus of condemnation.
The Palestine Information Center, a primary center for anti-Israel propaganda, called the Israelis the “
scum of the earth“:
Well. Boo. Hoo. (
Read the whole thing for a lot more reactions from the Jew haters and the self-hating JINOs).
In the meantime, the funes are having their effect. YNet reported yesterday that 186 hunger strikers have already
officially dropped out.
Momentum in a mass hunger strike launched by Palestinian security
prisoners last week suffered a blow on Saturday when all of the 84
prisoners in the Hamas wing at Gilboa Prison, and two prisoners in
Megiddo Prison, ceased to strike.
The break is the second to have taken place since the hunger
strike got underway last week, with 100 prisoners reporting that they
were dropping out just 24 hours after it began.
The latest sign of cracks forming in the unified protest, which
is being led by Marwan Barghouti—a convicted terrorist—comes just days
after 1,187 Palestinian security prisoners announced that they had begun
the hunger strike.
What are the 'Palestinian' demands? You won't believe them....
The demands included a provision that the Prisons Service install
public telephone wings, similar to those installed for criminal
prisoners.
The second demand laid out by the prisoners was that Israel
restore the procedure of two visits per month by prisoners' families.
Nine months ago, the Red Cross, which finances the
transportation of family members on buses from the West Bank and the
Gaza Strip to prisons, reduced the number of family visits from twice a
month to once. ostensibly due to financial problems.
The prisoners also demanded that visits be extended from 45
minutes to 90 minutes and that Israel not prevent immediate and extended
family members with security-related offenses from visiting.
Additionally, prisoners are also demanding that they be allowed to be
photographed with their families once every three months.
They've also asked for
more cable television channels. Yes, really. What they'd really like is to be in a '
prison' like this one.
Palestinian guards confirmed yesterday that Ahmed Saadat, a leading
militant captured by Israeli troops in the raid, kept birds and flowers
in his quarters. Western officials said that Saadat in effect used other
prisoners as “domestic staff”.
An official told The Times that
Fuad Shobaki, the alleged moneyman behind a 2002 weapons shipment
intercepted by Israel, smoked up to five Cuban cigars a day and was
known as “The Brigadier” to inmates and staff. He was also seized.
“Saadat
and Shobaki were very much in charge,” one prison source said. “These
guys were running the prison. They did what they wanted, when they
wanted.”
But that prison was run by Britain and not by Israel. The Israeli Prison Service apparently still has some notion of punishment.

NY Times publishes op-ed by terrorist, 'forgets' to mention his five murder convictions
A group of 'Palestinian' terrorists in Israeli prisons started a hunger strike on Monday. The group is
led by mass murderer Marwan Barghouti, the former leader of the Fatah Tanzim terror group, who has been in an Israeli prison for the last 15 years, and who was considered toxic enough not to be released as part of the 'terrorists for Gilad' trade of 2011.
The New York Times considers this such important news that on Saturday - in the middle of the Passover holiday - it posted an
op-ed by Barghouti on its web site, which made the print editions on Sunday. Barghouti refers to Israel's 'system of mass arbitrary arrests' as if there was no reason to arrest him. He complains that Israel has 'violated international law' for nearly 70 years, a period which goes back to independence and is clearly not meant to be limited to the post-Six Day War era. He refers to himself and his fellow terrorists as political prisoners.
There's one small part he left out, and which the New York Times did not bother to correct until late Monday, long after almost everyone who wanted to read the op-ed had (except for those who are keeping two days of Passover who would probably not find Barghouti persuasive anyway). On Monday, the Times posted this on its web site to correct the record.
Yes, that would be the same trial that Barghouti refers to in the editorial as a 'political show trial.'
I'm reminded of Gilda Radner's famous line upon being caught in a semantic mistake on Saturday Night Live.... "Never mind...." Too bad the Times took two days to fix the 'mistake.' But then, who would expect any better of them?

Let them starve! UPDATED
'Palestinian' terrorists in Israeli prisons, led by convicted mass murderer Marwan Barghouti, are going on a
hunger strike starting Monday.
Prisoners affiliated to the Palestinian People's Party (PPP)
announced they would undertake what has come to be known as the “Freedom
and Dignity” strike, according to jailed PPP leader and member of the
PPP Central Committee Bassem Khandaqji.
"After
consultations with prisoners of various factions, PPP-affiliated
prisoners decided to join the battle for freedom and dignity on April
17, which coincides with Palestinian Prisoner's Day." Khandaqji said in a
statement.
The Palestinian Popular Struggle
Front (PPSF) also said on Sunday that prisoners affiliated to the group
would join the Fatah-led strike.
The PPSF
statement went on to warn of a potential “serious escalation by Israeli
authorities against prisoners after they launch the battle for freedom
and dignity, which will mark a turning point in the life of Palestinian
prisoners.” The group said it "urged the
Palestinian people to organize actions to support the hunger strikers in
their battle, both at popular and official levels."
Hamas
meanwhile confirmed in an official statement on Sunday that prisoners
affiliated to the movement held in Hadarim prison would join the strike.
The
higher leading committee of Hamas-affiliated prisoners in Israeli
custody said it “completely supports the Freedom and Dignity hunger
strike, which an elite group of brave prisoners will start tomorrow in
order to forcibly obtain our stolen rights.”
“We
warn the Israel Prison Service against bringing any harm to the hunger
strikers. Any delay in answering their just demands will explode the
situation inside all prisons. All prisoners will unite in the face of
all those who might harm prisoners and their dignity,” the Hamas
statement said.
In the past, Israel has panicked by releasing terrorists who went on hunger strikes in Israeli prisons to avoid letting them die in prison. But Barghouti may be too big to let go. Until his arrest in 2002, Barghouti was the leader of the Fatah Tanzim terror organization that carried out many of the most murderous attacks of the Second Intifadeh (2000-04). He was convicted of five murders in 2004 and has been in an Israeli prison ever since. Barghouti is also regarded as a rival and possible successor to '
moderate' '
Palestinian' President
Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen since he is allegedly even popular among Hamas supporters.
But not all the terrorists are going on strike.
It was previously reported that all prisoners in
Hadarim and
Nafha
prison would join, regardless of their political affiliation, including
those affiliated to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine
(PFLP), the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP),
Hamas, and the Islamic Jihad.
However, the
left-wing PFLP later said that despite its “appreciation” for
Barghouthi, it was not in fact undertaking the hunger strike, because it
was organized by Fatah without coordinating with all other Palestinian
political factions.
Hopefully, this time, Israel will not force feed the 'prisoners' (as it has been forced to do by its 'Supreme Court' at times in the past). If they want to starve themselves to death, let them. This isn't about prison conditions. It's about politics.
UPDATE 5:24 PM
As usual with the 'Palestinians,' things aren't quite what they seem, as you can see in this series of tweets from Israel Radio's Gal Berger (translation follows).
Marwan Barghouti sent secret messages to the Hamas leadership outside the mail calling on them to pressure Hamas prisoners in jail to join the hunger strike that he plans to lead starting tomorrow.
Hamas announced that it will support the strike and that Hamas prisoners in the Hadarim jail will join it, but did not announce general participation of its prisoners in all prisons in the strike.
Barghouti expects Hamas' leadership to join the strike later after it gathers volume. It's estimated that in the First Phase more than 1,000 prisoners will participate; not all of Fatah's prisoners are participating.
The added emphasis is mine. Note that Hamas is really taking a 'wait and see' attitude, and that not even all of Fatah's terrorists - to whom Barghouti technically belongs - are joining in.
Hmmm.

Terrorist Samir al-Kuntar wiped out along with Hezbullah commanders in Syria
In what is said to be an Israeli airstrike, terrorist Samir al-Kuntar and several commanders of Hezbullah in Syria were wiped out around 10:00 pm last night in Damascus.
Let's go to the videotape.
Kuntar and five lesser lights were exchanged for the
mutilated remains of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev.
Kuntar was
returned to Lebanon in 2008 after nearly 30 years in an Israeli jail (his return was said to be the motivation for the kidnapping of Goldwasser and Regev, which
precipitated the Second Lebanon War in 2006), where he was greeted by
joyous celebrations, committed
one of the most heinous acts of terror in Israeli history.
In 1979, Kuntar (at left in the picture above) and three other
terrorists penetrated Israeli territory from Lebanon and entered the
town of Nahariya. They murdered a police officer and then entered the
home of the Harran family of Nahariya. From here, I am going to let the
words of the sole survivor of that attack -
Smadar Harran Kaiser - speak for themselves:
Abu
Abbas, the former head of a Palestinian terrorist group who was
captured in Iraq on April 15, is infamous for masterminding the 1985
hijacking of the Italian cruise ship Achille Lauro. But there are
probably few who remember why Abbas's terrorists held the ship and its
400-plus passengers hostage for two days. It was to gain the release of a
Lebanese terrorist named Samir Kuntar, who is locked up in an Israeli
prison for life. Kuntar's name is all but unknown to the world. But I
know it well. Because almost a quarter of a century ago, Kuntar murdered my family.
It
was a murder of unimaginable cruelty, crueler even than the murder of
Leon Klinghoffer, the American tourist who was shot on the Achille Lauro
and dumped overboard in his wheelchair. Kuntar's mission against my
family, which never made world headlines, was also masterminded by Abu
Abbas. And my wish now is that this terrorist leader should be
prosecuted in the United States, so that the world may know of all his
terrorist acts, not the least of which is what he did to my family on
April 22, 1979.
It had been a peaceful Sabbath day. My husband,
Danny, and I had picnicked with our little girls, Einat, 4, and Yael, 2,
on the beach not far from our home in Nahariya, a city on the northern
coast of Israel, about six miles south of the Lebanese border. Around
midnight, we were asleep in our apartment when four terrorists, sent by
Abu Abbas from Lebanon, landed in a rubber boat on the beach two blocks
away. Gunfire and exploding grenades awakened us as the terrorists burst
into our building. They had already killed a police officer. As they
charged up to the floor above ours, I opened the door to our apartment.
In the moment before the hall light went off, they turned and saw me. As
they moved on, our neighbor from the upper floor came running down the
stairs. I grabbed her and pushed her inside our apartment and slammed
the door.
Outside, we could hear the men storming about.
Desperately, we sought to hide. Danny helped our neighbor climb into a
crawl space above our bedroom; I went in behind her with Yael in my
arms. Then Danny grabbed Einat and was dashing out the front door to
take refuge in an underground shelter when the terrorists came crashing
into our flat. They held Danny and Einat while they searched for me and
Yael, knowing there were more people in the apartment. I will never
forget the joy and the hatred in their voices as they swaggered about
hunting for us, firing their guns and throwing grenades. I knew that if
Yael cried out, the terrorists would toss a grenade into the crawl space
and we would be killed. So I kept my hand over her mouth, hoping she
could breathe. As I lay there, I remembered my mother telling me how she
had hidden from the Nazis during the Holocaust. "This is just like what
happened to my mother," I thought.
As
police began to arrive, the terrorists took Danny and Einat down to the
beach. There, according to eyewitnesses, one of them shot Danny in
front of Einat so that his death would be the last sight she would ever
see. Then he smashed my little girl's skull in against a rock with his
rifle butt. That terrorist was Samir Kuntar.
By
the time we were rescued from the crawl space, hours later, Yael, too,
was dead. In trying to save all our lives, I had smothered her.
The
next day, Abu Abbas announced from Beirut that the terrorist attack in
Nahariya had been carried out "to protest the signing of the
Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty" at Camp David the previous year. Abbas
seems to have a gift for charming journalists, but imagine the character
of a man who protests an act of peace by committing an act of
slaughter.
Two of Abbas's terrorists had been killed by police on
the beach. The other two were captured, convicted and sentenced to life
in prison. Despite my protests, one was released in a prisoner exchange
for Israeli POWs several months before the Achille Lauro hijacking. Abu
Abbas was determined to find a way to free Kuntar as well. So he
engineered the hijacking of the Achille Lauro off the coast of Egypt and
demanded the release of 50 Arab terrorists from Israeli jails. The only
one of those prisoners actually named was Samir Kuntar. The plight of
hundreds held hostage on a cruise ship for two days at sea lent itself
to massive international media coverage. The attack on Nahariya, by
contrast, had taken less than an hour in the middle of the night. So
what happened then was hardly noticed outside of Israel.
To
complete the record, Abu Abbas died in an American prison in Iraq in
2003 shortly after Smadar Harran Kaiser wrote the article above. I just
want to add to this from a web site I found about
why Samir Kuntar should never be released:
According
to Smadar Haran, her last memories of Danny and Einat, that day, were
when they were being led away at gun point by Kuntar. She could hear
from her closet space Danny telling Einat, "Don't be scared, my baby, it will be alright" and Einat replied to him in her little voice, "Dad, where is Mommy? I want Mommy."
Smadar's last memory of her 2-year-old daughter, Yael, was when her
little daughter was taken to the apartment hiding space. Right before
Yael had her mouth covered by her mother, she asked her mother "Where is my little pacifier."
There was no time to search for the pacifier. Minutes later
Smadar covered Yael's mouth to keep her from revealing the hiding space.
Smadar soon felt her daughter's tiny tongue licks and lip sucking on
the palm of her hand. She didn't know what to make of it at first but
hours later was told by doctors and paramedics that the reason Yael was
licking her palm while she covered her mouth was because she was gasping
for air.
After taking Danny and four-year old Einat hostage,
Kuntar and his group took them down to the beach. Samir Kuntar quickly
shot Danny in the back and then drowned him in the Mediterranean Sea to
ensure his death. While Kuntar drowned Danny, he forced terrified Einat to watch and cry. According to eyewitnesses, "Danny was murdered in front of Einat so that his death would be the last sight she would ever see." Little Einat would not have that horrible memory in her head for long. Kuntar, the brave Lebanese freedom fighter, crushed Einat's skull over and over upon the rocks with the butt of his rifle until she was dead.
...
During
the ensuing shootout between Kuntar's terror group and Israeli police,
two policeman were killed along with two of the Arab terrorists. Kuntar
and the fourth participant, Ahmed Al-Abrass, were captured. Ahmed
Al-Abrass was later free by the Israeli authorities in the infamous May
1985 Ahmed Jibril prisoner exchange deal in which 1,150 Arab prisoners
(some of whom had blood on their hands) were exchanged for three Israeli
soldiers. Kuntar was not included in the deal.
The Israeli
government determined at first to make a decision to execute Kuntar, for
his horrific crime, especially for the fact that he tortured and beat
to death the 4-year old toddler. Israeli Prime Minister at that time,
Menachem Begin , proposed a draft resolution to the Security and
Foreign Affairs Committee in the Israeli Keenest on April 24, 1979. He
demanded to eliminate a previous resolution stipulated by the Israeli
cabinet, which said no execution should be implemented against
terrorists as the international law prohibits it. The Israeli Foreign
Minister Izer Weizman and Transportation Minister Hayeem Landau
supported Beagin’s draft resolution. Abraham Sharer, who was the head of
the Likude parliamentary bloc also, called for Kuntar’s execution.
Isaac Shamir issued a statement on April 25, 1979 also calling for his
execution.
The Israelis tried to implement the execution sentence
on Samir Kuntar and the whole parliament agreed on them. The only
dilemma they were having was the Israeli law that doesn’t allow
execution except for the Nazis of the World War II and to those found
guilty of betrayal to their country. Furthermore, they did not want the
international community on their backs; also, they wanted to improve
their relationship with Egypt after the peace process. As a consequence,
the Israeli central court in Haifa sentenced Kuntar to 5 life sentences
plus 47 years to come up with the total of 542 years. During the trial,
Kuntar was waving victory signs, and called himself a hero.
Samir Kuntar has confessed proudly to his murder of the little girl and never once showed one ounce of remorse for his crime. Even
while serving his prison term, he has bragged repeatedly during
interviews about how proud he was for murdering the 4-year-old Israeli
child. While in prison Kuntar got married and even receives conjugal
visits. Below he stands proudly alongside other convicted Arab murderer, Marwan Barghouti.
But it is unlikely that the attack on Kuntar and his Hezbullah cohorts was a revenge attack.
Lebanon's al-Mayadeen reported that the IAF took out the entire building in which Kuntar and his friends were meeting using a long-range missile while hovering over the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee). This likely would have rendered unnecessary any coordination of the attack with Russia. The silence of the Russian S-400's that 'protect' Syria is rumored to be a quid pro quo for Israel not attacking every time Russia violates its air space.
Syria has yet to admit that Israel is responsible for the attack or to condemn it, but that is likely coming soon. Kuntar was said to be attempting (unsuccessfully) to recruit Golan Druze to attack Israel.
Good riddance to the scum of the earth. I hope the bombers coated their bombs with pig lard.

'Palestinians' voting Hamas
A new 'Palestinian' poll says that if elections were held today, Hamas would win. In fact, they would
win by even more in Judea and Samaria than in Gaza.
PSR observes that, “as we saw in previous instances during and
immediately after Israeli wars with Hamas, findings show a spike in the
popularity of Hamas and its leaders.” PSR adds:
It is worth noting that the size of the change in favor
of Hamas is unprecedented since 2006. Indeed, if presidential elections
were to take place today, Ismail Haniyeh would easily win over Abbas and
Hamas would win the largest percentage of the popular vote in
parliamentary elections. … Indeed, an overwhelming majority of West
Bankers wants to transfer “Hamas’ way” to the West Bank and rejects the
demand to disarm the Islamist group or to disband the other Gazan armed
groups. Findings also indicate that the public see Iran, Turkey, and
Qatar as the most instrumental in supporting Hamas and helping Gazans
remain steadfast against the Israeli attacks. By contrast, Egypt’s role
is seen as week and unhelpful. Indeed, a majority believes that Egypt
played a negative role in the ceasefire negotiations.
The Times of Israel provides some numbers and related context:
That change is clear in the approval ratings given to
Hamas and its leaders compared to those given to the Palestinian
Authority. Hamas received 88% approval for its performance during the
war, and its political chief Khaled Mashaal won 78% approval. The
Palestinian Authority came in significantly lower, with just 36%
approval; its leaders, President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Rami
Hamdallah, received 39% and 35%, respectively. …
Paradoxically, and worryingly for Israel, Hamas received higher
support in the PA-controlled West Bank than it did in Gaza. The poll
found that if elections were held today, former Hamas prime minister
Ismail Haniyeh would easily defeat Abbas with 61% of the popular vote
versus 32%. Sixty-six percent of respondents in the West Bank said they
supported Haniyeh, compared to 53% in the Gaza Strip. In the West Bank,
Abbas received just 25% approval, as opposed to 43% in Gaza. Overall
support for the Palestinian Authority president plummeted 11% points in
two months, from 50% in June to 39% in August, the poll found
The Times also notes that this is the first time that Hamas leader
Ismail Haniyeh outpolled convicted terrorist Marwan Barghouti, with the
former favored by 49% to 45% for the presidency of the Palestinian
Authority.
Well, at least this ensures that there won't be 'Palestinian elections' for a while.

Israel needs a death penalty for terrorists
Jewish Home party leader Naftali Bennett really thinks he accomplished something this morning. Bennett managed to push a bill through the cabinet - not the full government or the Knesset - which would allow the courts to sentence really heinous murderers to
life in prison without parole. When (and if) such a sentence is pronounced, it would take away from the President the power to pardon those murderers (presumably terrorists), which is a necessary prerequisite for the disgusting exhibition of released 'Palestinian' murderers on our television screens and radio waves.
The law, which received the cabinet's recommendation by a vote of 15 –
6, would allow courts to stipulate in sentencing a clause saying that
the president will not – as is the case today – have the powers to
commute the sentences.
The cabinet also agreed that the Defense
Minister will be directed to apply this law to the military courts in
Judea and Samaria as well.
...
Economy Minister Naftali
Bennett said the bill "puts an end to the 'get out of jail free' card
for murderers, which exists only in Israel.
"If Israel can't stand
by basic morality, which dictates that murderers should die in prison,
then from now on there won't be a choice," the Bayit Yehudi leader
added. "If this law existed earlier, then maybe many murderers would
have understood that it doesn't pay to kill Jews."
Bennett also called the legislation a "Zionist response" to the Hamas-Fatah unity government.
The
bill does not ban the president from pardoning and releasing terrorist
prisoners who have already been sentenced to life in prison.
Maybe if the law had existed before it might have helped. Maybe. But in the meantime, there are still thousands of 'Palestinian' murderers in jail who can 'legally' be released as part of a 'gesture.' And there is no guarantee that any judge will use this label to prevent the terrorists' release down the road. How many judges have been willing to label crimes by Knesset members whose name is not Aryeh Deri or Ehud Olmert 'crimes of moral turpitude' to prevent them from running for office again for the next ten years (yes, that one is on the books too).
Here's betting that the only murderers to whom this law will ever be applied are Jews (if they can find a retroactive exemption they'll apply it to Yigal Amir - not that I expect him to be released anyway).
Tsur also emphasized that the bill does not only apply to terrorists or murder motivated by nationalism.
"All
murder is detestable and there are extraordinary cases…in which we
should prevent the murderers from being able to receive a pardon, which
is unjust," he explained. "The bill strengthens judges' authority by
creating an additional level of punishment between life in prison and
death sentences, which do not exist in Israel. This will increase
deterrence and a sense of personal security for all citizens."
Even Amir 'Comrade' Peretz can see right through this one.
"The bill only applies to future murders and not those who are in
prison now. Therefore, it will not bring deterrence. Rather, it will
damage Israel's image and diplomatic standing, because the government
is afraid to govern and is giving the responsibility to someone else
[the courts]," Peretz stated.
Well, yeah, but Peretz is the guy who wants to negotiate Marwan Barghouti's release.
Terror victims head Meir Indor got it right.
Almagor Terror Victims Organization director Lt.-Col. (res.) Meir
Indor pointed out that the "the bill as it currently reads does not
include thousands of murderers that were already sentenced...and could
be released in future negotiations and gestures.
"In order to
solve the problem, hundreds of bereaved families with Almagor demand to
have the bill apply to terrorists who are already in prison, including
those who are on the list for the fourth round [of prisoner releases
in the last round of negotiations]," he said.
But Naftali Bennett is
full of pride about this bill. Here's what he wrote on Facebook.
"This moment, the government approved the law against releasing
terrorists," Bennett wrote. "Today, we end the 'murder deal' - a deal
which exists only in Israel. Under the new law, [terrorists convicted
of] serious acts of murder could see the judge give them a life sentence
without the possibility of parole."
If only.... There's only one answer for terrorists. There's only one thing that's permanent, forever. The death penalty. That's what terrorists deserve and that's the only thing that has half a chance of deterring them.

President of 'Palestine'?
A 'Palestinian' poll shows that murderer Marwan Barghouti would handily win 'Palestinian elections' against either '
moderate' '
Palestinian' President
Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen or Hamas 'President' Ismail Haniyeh. The poll also shows that Barghouti's and Mazen's
Fatah terror organization would defeat the Hamas terror organization in 'elections.'
The poll, was conducted by the Palestinian Center for Public Opinion
(PCPO) among 1015 residents of Judea, Samaria and Gaza with a 3% margin
of error.
Barghouti is currently serving multiple life sentences in an
Israeli prison for his role planning numerous deadly terrorist attacks.
The poll found that if he was free, he would enjoy an advantage in the
race for president, regardless of who he was matched against.
When posed against Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud
Abbas, 33% said they would vote for Barghouti with 29% going for Abbas.
Likewise, when compared against Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Barghouti
bagged almost 50%, with Haniyeh at a mere 16%.
PCPO president and founder Nabil Kukali, ignoring Barghouti's lethal terrorism, remarked "it's time that Mr. Barghouti should be released from prison to give him the opportunity to contest the elections."
Abbas in March demanded Barghouti's release as a condition of the
peace talks, in what was speculated as indicating that Abbas, whose term
in office ended in January 2009, saw the arch-terrorist as his successor.
The poll also compared Fatah, the faction of Abbas and Barghouti, and Hamas, which violently forced Fatah out of Gaza in 2007.
According to the results Fatah would get 39% of the vote, with Hamas
far behind at 15%. 80% of respondents felt elections would "certainly"
or "likely" be held within six months of the unity government's
formation.
It's surreal to even be talking about this as if it's going to happen. What could go wrong?

Of course: The 'Palestinians' say it's blackmail so Israel sweetens the deal
It goes without saying.
The 'Palestinians' rejected as '

proposal to release 420 terrorists to be chosen by Israel and partially freeze 'settlement' construction in exchange for the 'Palestinians' continuing talks and the United States releasing
hostage Jonathan Pollard from confinement.
So Israel has

A reported American offer revealed to Arutz Sheva on Tuesday,
by which Jonathan Pollard would be released in exchange for over 400
Israeli-held Arab terrorists, including arch-terrorist Marwan Barghouti,
was sharply denounced by Judea and Samaria's Yesha Council.
Yes, that's right. Lifer x 5 Marwan Barghouti (the cockroach in the middle) is now part of the deal.
In response to the plans, Yesha Council released a statement on
Tuesday afternoon, declaring "the submission to Arab blackmail and

building and freeing murderers is not a new patent."
"The government of Israel has already frozen (building) and released
murderers several times, but the Palestinian leadership isn't interested
in peace, but rather steps up its demands and requests more and more
murderers," noted the statement.
Yesha Council strongly denounced the "extortion," calling on
government ministers to oppose the "shameful deal," and in doing so "not
to submit to American pressure and bribery."
The statement clarified the Council's ardent desire for Pollard's
release, but noted "making the joy of the day of his release dependent
on the mourning of the bereaved families whose loved ones' murderers are
released is an unforgivable act."
"The Palestinians are extorting, the Americans are bribing, and the
one paying the price is the government of Israel in the name of us, the
citizens," concluded the council.
The 'Palestinians' agree. They are proud of their successful blackmail.
Let's go to the videotape.
But there's more to it than that. The 'Palestinians' aren't at the table to make peace. They're at the table to
release terrorists.
Senior PA leader Nabil
Shaath explained already in November and again in December 2013, that
the reason the PA has not "stopped negotiations," is because the PA
wants to first fulfill its goal of having all the prisoners Israel
arrested before the Oslo Accords released.
Israel
agreed to release the 104 terrorists from prison because it was the
Palestinian Authority's precondition for starting negotiations at all.
But Fatah's spokesman calling the release of the prisoners "blackmail,"
together with Shaath's statement that they are just waiting for the
prisoners to be released before they stop the negotiations, indicates that for the PA, the current round of peace talks may have been a charade.
Israel has already released 78 of the prisoners, and has not yet announced if it will release the remaining 26.
And Obama-Kerry are the 'Palestinians' willing lackeys. I hope they share Arafat's fate.

Netanyahu: No terrorist release without 'clear benefit' to Israel
Prime Minister Netanyahu told a meeting of Likud ministers on Sunday that Israel will not release any more terrorists without a '
clear benefit.'
Speaking at a meeting of Likud ministers, Netanyahu said that Israel
would not make a deal to free the prisoners "without a clear benefit for
Israel in return." He acknowledged that negotiations to come to an
agreement could potentially "blow up."
Israel said it is willing to release a fourth batch of convicted Palestinian terrorists,
but not if the Palestinians say that they will end the negotiations
directly after the release, a highly-placed Israeli official said
Saturday night.
The official, familiar with the negotiations, said
“Israel wants to see the continuation of the peace talks with the
Palestinians, and is willing to implement the fourth release of
convicted terrorists. But the Palestinians are making that very
difficult when they say that immediately following the release, they
will end the talks.”
...
An Israeli official said that the Palestinians also did not live up to
their commitments under the framework, including to engage in serious
and good faith negotiations.
Meanwhile, '
moderate' '
Palestinian' President
Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen is trying to get Fatah Tanzim leader Marwan Barghouti onto the list of terrorists to be released. Barghouti is serving five life sentences for murder.
The wife of Marwan Barghouti, a senior member of Abbas’s Fatah party
who is serving five life sentences for planning numerous terror attacks
against Israelis, stated Sunday that Palestinian Authority Chairman
Mahmoud Abbas is campaigning for the terrorist's release.
Barghouti has been named as a possible successor
for Abbas, who is under increasing pressure in the political sphere to
both sign an agreement with Israel and ascertain Palestinian nationalist
rights.
Barghouti is one of the PA's most dangerous terrorists, according to experts, and he has threatened Israel with
a third intifada, albeit an unarmed one from his jail cell. He declared
that “would not give up and I claim that the right of return is a
sacred right of the Palestinians.”
Someone please find Netanyahu's backbone quickly so that there will actually be a chance that he sticks to that demand.

Abu Bluff asks US to help free Barghouti, Saadat
Earlier this week, I reported that '
moderate' '
Palestinian' President
Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen planned to
demand the release of murderers Marwan Barghouti and Ahmed Saadat in exchange for an extension of the 'peace talks.' Reuters is now
confirming that demand was made.
A Palestinian official said Abbas had written
to the United States asking them to bring about the release of ill
prisoners, female inmates and minors, as well as Barghouti and two other
high-profile leaders - Ahmed Sa'adat and Fouad Al-Shobaki.
"The
president renewed his demand during the recent meetings in Washington,"
said Qadoura Fares, chairman of the Palestinian Prisoner Club,
referring to Abbas's trip to Washington this week to discuss the shaky
peace process with President Barack Obama.
An
Israeli court sentenced Barghouti to five life sentences and 40 years
in jail in 2004, finding him guilty of orchestrating ambushes and
suicide attacks during the Palestinian Intifada, or uprising, that was
raging at the time.
Saadat was the planner and leader of the assassination of Israeli Tourism Minister Rechavam Zeevi HY"D (May God Avenge his blood). Shobaki was the financier of the Karine A weapons ship that convinced then-President George W. Bush to break off all negotiations with Yasser Arafat. Israel has held them since
2006. Before that, they were held in a '
prison' that was monitored by Britain.
The second picture is (left to right) Saadat, Barghouti and their good friend, the
child murderer Samir al-Kuntar. Kuntar was released in 2008 in
exchange for two black boxes containing the
mutilated remains of kidnapped IDF soldiers Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev HY"D (May God Avenge their blood).

Oh my... LIVNI says we may not release terrorists
This is about as strong a warning as the 'Palestinians' are going to get that the handouts from Israel just might be over. Israel's 'chief negotiator,' Tzipi Livni said on Tuesday that
there might not be a fourth terrorist release on the 29th of March unless there's a commitment from the 'Palestinians' that the 'negotiations' will continue beyond the end of April.
"There was never any automatic commitment to release prisoners
unrelated to making progress in negotiations," Livni said in a speech
in southern Israel that could complicate Washington's efforts to salvage
peacemaking.
She was referring to Israel's agreement, as part of
US efforts to revive Palestinian statehood talks frozen for three
years, to free 104 inmates jailed for attacks, many of them deadly,
against Israelis before a 1993 interim peace deal.
Israel has freed more than 70 of those prisoners
since the negotiations resumed in July. But the talks have made little
progress and Washington is trying to set guidelines to keep them going
beyond the original April 29 target date for an accord.
US
officials fear the negotiations could break down if Israel fails to
free the final batch of prisoners. Palestinians regard brethren jailed
by Israel as heroes in a quest for an independent state in the occupied
West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza Strip. Israel views them as
terrorists.
"The key to the door for Palestinian prisoners is in Abu Mazen's hands," Livni said, using Abbas's nickname.
As you might recall, earlier this week, there was a report in the Arabic media that the 'Palestinians' wanted Marwan Barghouti and Ahmad Saadat released as a condition to continuing 'negotiations.'
Hmmm.

'
Moderate' '
Palestinian' President
Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen plans to demand the release of terrorists
Marwan Barghouti and Ahmed Saadat as a precondition to continuing 'talks' when he meets with President Hussein Obama on Monday.
According to the London-based pan-Arab daily newspaper Al-Hayat,
Abbas wants to present his people with a significant political
achievement, hence he will spell out his terms to Obama as a way to
“break the ice” between the two leaders.
Peace negotiations between Israel and the PA are due to run their
originally scheduled nine-month course by the end of April, with Washington seeking both sides’ signatures on a framework agreement that would allow the talks to continue.
According to Al-Hayat,
if Abbas’ terms are accepted by the Israeli government, the
Palestinians would acquiesce to extend the talks to the end of this
calendar year.
Observers believe that Abbas will reject Kerry’s
framework proposals, though he will be flexible regarding other American
proposals that would permit the negotiations to continue beyond the
nine-month deadline, according to Al-Hayat. Specifically, the
Palestinian leader is seeking additional confidence-building measures by
the government of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Thus far, the Palestinians have refused Kerry’s proposal for recognition of Israel as a Jewish state. Ramallah has also balked at an Israeli military presence within a future Palestinian state on the West Bank.
...
Palestinian observers believe that Abbas is hoping to secure Barghouti’s release so that he could groom him to be his successor as head of Fatah.
Given that the Palestinian leader has yet to anoint a replacement, it
is assumed that tapping Barghouti would be a popular move on the
Palestinian street.
Barghouti is serving five life terms in prison
for his role in attacks that killed and wounded several Israelis during
the second intifada. Sa'adat has been jailed since 2008 for planning
the murder of former tourism minister Rehavam Ze'evi.
Let's just hope that Netanyahu is not foolish enough to give up those two for an extension of the endless 'negotiations.' Then it will just be a question of who gets blamed.
Even Bill Clinton knew when to tell the 'Palestinians' to get off. Obama probably doesn't.

Kerry's great 'moderate' hope doesn't represent Hamas... or Fatah either
Khaled Abu Toameh reports that as US Secretary of State John FN Kerry continues to 'negotiate' with '
moderate' '
Palestinian' President
Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen, it turns out that not only does Abu Mazen not represent Hamas...
he doesn't represent Fatah either.
Recently, Abbas dispatched a high-level Fatah delegation to the Gaza
Strip, prompting many Palestinians to speculate that the purpose of the
trip was to achieve reconciliation with Hamas. But it quickly transpired
that the Fatah delegation, headed by Abbas loyalist Nabil Sha'ath, was
sent to the Gaza Strip as part of Abbas's attempt to crush a
Dahlan-engineered rebellion against his leadership.
Many Palestinians were initially convinced that Abbas had resumed his
efforts to end the dispute between Fatah and Hamas. Reports in
Palestinian and Western media outlets even suggested that the two rival
parties had made progress towards achieving unity.
Fatah leaders, however, have now admitted that the visit was
primarily aimed at "restoring order" within their faction in the Gaza
Strip. Abbas, they revealed, was now seeking the help of Hamas help in
preventing Dahlan and other Fatah "rebels" from continuing to challenge
his leadership.
Some reports
have suggested that Sha'ath and members of his delegation had to flee
the Gaza Strip three days after their arrival following threats to their
lives from Dahlan and his supporters.
According to the reports, Sha'ath
even appealed to Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh to beef up
security at the hotel where he was staying in Gaza City, out of fear
that disgruntled Fatah activists might assassinate him or members of his
delegation.
Upon returning to Ramallah, Sha'ath rushed to accuse Dahlan and his supporters of plotting to overthrow Abbas. Sha'ath said
that Abbas was worried about attempts to create a schism within Fatah.
"All previous splits in Fatah ended in failure," Sha'ath said. "All
those who did break away from Fatah were eventually forced to become
agents for other countries."
In recent weeks, Abbas has taken a number of measures
that reflect his increased fear of Dahlan's moves to discredit him and
remove him from power. These measures include confiscating large sums of
money transferred from the United Arab Emirates to Dahlan loyalists in
the Gaza Strip.
...
Last week Abbas went further by threatening to expel all Dahlan loyalists from Fatah. Dahlan himself was expelled (by Abbas) from Fatah in 2011.
Palestinians in Ramallah said that the increased tensions in Fatah
mean that Abbas is beginning to lose his grip over the faction -- a fact
that Kerry and his team would not be able to ignore if and when they
force Abbas to sign any agreement with Israel.
Maybe when Abu Mazen quietly pushed to have
Marwan Barghouti stay locked up, he should have had Dahlan locked up as well. In any event, Kerry seems to have missed this completely. What a surprise.

'Palestinians' disappointed by murderer release
The 'Palestinians' are
disappointed that the terrorists being released on Tuesday night do not include any 'Israeli Arabs' or Jerusalem residents, and do include terrorists who were due to be released in a year or two anyway.
Kadoura Fares, director of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, said the
Palestinian Authority leadership would discuss the “flaw created by
Israel’s selection of the first batch of prisoners who are to be
released, because the list does not include prisoners from inside Israel
and Jerusalem.”
Fares told the Palestine News Network that the “flaw” would be corrected in the next batch of prisoners.
He
said the Palestinian Authority leadership would work toward reaching an
agreement with Israel to allow Palestinians to participate in choosing
which prisoners would be released.
Fares said the original plan
was that the prisoners would be released on Tuesday. He added that the
PA leadership was opposed to the deportation of any prisoner.
PA
President Mahmoud Abbas was quoted by the Palestinian Authority’s
official news agency Wafa as saying that “not a single prisoner would be
deported outside the homeland.”
PA officials also voiced
disappointment over the fact that the list included a number of
prisoners who were expected to be released anyway in the next few months
or years.
They also expressed surprise that the list included
Burhan Subaih, a PA security officer who was arrested in February 2001.
They added that the decision to release Subaih did not meet the criteria
for the release of inmates imprisoned before the signing of the Oslo
Accords two decades ago.
Boo. Hoo. Then again, given the current junta in Washington, these complaints probably will be taken seriously.
Meanwhile, Fadwa Barghouti, wife of jailed Fatah leader Marwan
Barghouti, expressed astonishment over the failure of the PA leadership
to demand the release of her husband. She told the Palestinian news
agency Ma’an that the PA leadership had completely ignored her husband
during negotiations over the prisoner release.
“Does the
Palestinian leadership want Marwan Barghouti and other prisoners to wait
another 30 years until they are released?” she asked.
I don't know about other prisoners, but the 'Palestinian leadership' would be very happy to see Marwan Barghouti spend the rest of his life in prison, because he could challenge their leadership.

The next President of the 'Palestinian Authority'?
Once again, Kayitz Baree, a healthy summer to all of you. This is the first live post of the evening from Israel where the Passover holiday is over and I am allowed to be online.
A poll of 'Palestinians' indicates that Marwan the murdering moron Barghouti
would be elected President of the 'Palestinian Authority' over both '
moderate' '
Palestinian' President
Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen and Hamas President Ismail Haniyeh were elections to be held today. There are two small problems with this scenario. One is that '
moderate' '
Palestinian' President
Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen is not going to allow elections to be held. And the second is that Barghouti is in an Israeli jail, where he will hopefully stay for a long time to come.
This is from the first link.
Conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, the
poll covered 1,270 Palestinians and has a margin of error of 3%.
The poll also indicated a decline in the popularity of Hamas and
Haniyeh as opposed to a rise in the popularity of Abbas and Fatah.
According
to the poll, if new presidential elections were held today and only two
were nominated, Abbas would receive 52% of the vote, while Haniyeh
would get only 41%.
Three months ago, Abbas received the support of 45%, while Haniyeh got 44%.
The
only candidate who is capable of defeating both Abbas and Haniyeh is
Barghouti, who is serving five-life terms in prison for his role in
anti-Israel terror activities.
The poll showed that if Barghouti
ran today against Haniyeh, he would receive the support of 60% of voters
as opposed to 33% for the latter.
If presidential elections were
between three - Abbas, Barghouti and Haniyeh, the jailed Fatah leader
would receive the largest percentage [38%] followed by Haniyeh [31%] and
Abbas [26%].
If new parliamentary elections were held today, Fatah would win 41% of the votes as opposed to 29% for Hamas, the survey found.
On political issues, the poll found that 55% of Palestinians support a two-state solution, while 44% are opposed to the idea.
...
The poll also indicated that Palestinians are more worried about
poverty, unemployment and the lack of national unity than "occupation
and settlement activities."
Note that last line. Maybe if everyone stopped talking about a 'Palestinian state' and concentrated on giving the 'Palestinians' economic opportunities, they would be a happier people?

Barghouti 'sold out' Arafat

Well, what a surprise. The 'Palestinian' hero Marwan Barghouti 'sold out' his boss, Yasser Arafat by giving Israel's Shin Bet the smoking gun that proved that
Arafat was paying for the intifada.
After some hesitation, Barghouti provided the Shin Bet information that incriminated him and other senior members of Fatah's military wing. He confessed to transferring funds, some that arrived from Arafat's office, to leaders of the terror groups. In some incidents he funded the purchase of weapons and in others he received reports on the terror attacks.
In one incident – the shooting attack in which an Israeli citizen was killed near Givat Ze'ev – Barghouti confessed that he ordered the attack as revenge for the assassination of a senior Fatah official.
As to Arafat, the investigators were eager to get a "smoking gun" that would indicate that he gave clear instructions for terror attacks in Israel. Barghouti claimed that Arafat hinted his policy to the activists, who well understood his intentions, but said that the former Palestinian premier never gave direct orders to carry out terror attacks.
Barghouti said during his investigation that he chose to take part in the terror attacks against the Israel Defense Forces and settlers, among other things to bolster his reputation among public opinion in the West Bank. He said his decision was to give him priority over other leaders, who "didn't dirty their hands."
Barghouti said he opposed "gifts" from Israel and said, that, "A state should be established (on its own) and part of the process is bloodshed."
In two of the last investigations recorded in the documents, that took place on May 10 and 11, the investigators pressured Barghouti to give up information on Arafat. Barghouti responded, "But from the very fact that Arafat expressed opposition to carrying out attacks inside Israel, had he been opposed to the armed struggle inside the territories against the occupation, he would have made sure to transmit a specific order about that to all those involved."
The investigators continued pressuring Barghouti. "I explained to the subject that until he tells the truth about Abu Amar's (Arafat) part in launching attacks, his interrogation won't end."
Barghouti responded, "There was no need for direct instructions from Arafat. Things were understood between the lines. When Arafat would call for a cease-fire, he would convene the heads of Tanzim and instruct them and add that if the cease-fire were to end, they knew what they would have to do, when it was clear to everyone that he was talking about a continuation of military activity."
Did anyone ever believe it was otherwise? Arafat was the master of 'plausible deniability,' and while he continued to have it after this was discovered, it was clear to anyone with his eyes open that the denials were false.
Heh.
