Deri has lived through everything and learned nothing

If any of you are thinking of wasting your votes on the Shas party in the upcoming election, please think again. Former leader Aryeh Deri has returned to the party leadership, and he's still stuck in the '90's. He still believes that a 'long-term deal' with the 'Palestinians' is possible.
Support for an interim agreement in which Israel would withdraw from parts of the West Bank without evacuating settlements has come in the past from politicians on the Center-Left, including Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Kadima leader Shaul Mofaz, but never from the leader of a party that for many years was considered right-wing.
“Shas is not Right or Left,” Deri said. “We ask rabbis what to do and we go by what they say. We aren’t nationalist. We believe Israel is ours because God gave it to us. I don’t believe I am an occupier. Our rabbis will decide what is best to do to avoid blood being spilled.”
When asked if Shas mentor Rabbi Ovadia Yosef regretted having the party abstain from voting on the Oslo Accords in 1993, Deri said Yosef has written that the accord did not prove itself and led to terrorist attacks. He said Yosef currently does not believe there is a partner on the Palestinian side for negotiations.
“The rabbi believes we should not pursue a final-status agreement,” Deri said. “He is in favor of pursuing longterm interim agreements as long as they do not endanger Israelis. That would be the best. Then we can get to see how they turn out. The advantage of long-term interim agreements is that they can be stopped and changed if they don’t work.”
Shas was seen as more moderate when it was led by Deri and abstained on the Oslo Accord vote. When he was succeeded by Eli Yishai, the party moved to the Right.
Until now it was unclear whether the party would moderate its message on diplomatic issues with Deri’s return, but he made clear that it would.
And you wondered why Shas weakened in Thursday's poll results.... This will probably weaken them even more.

May Hashem save us from Aryeh Deri.

In fact from all of Shas - from the top chess piece down.

Soon, in our time.

Der'i is FIRST AND FOREMOST a DIRTY POLITICIAN, a crook, an embezzler, someone who thought that it was ok to use אֶתְנַן זוֹנָה, a prostitute's fee, which he got for selling Erets Israel to terrorists, to finance his party's institutions, which they even have the chutzpah of calling מוסדות התורה, Torah institutions.
What's interesting is that NO ONE reminds the world that the INFAMOUS psaq by Ovadiah Yosef, with which Eliezer Shach agreed, according to which it was allowed to give away Erets Israel for "piquach nefesh", thus OBLITERATING a few Mitswoth from the Torah, among which Milkhemet Mitswah, which OF COURSE involves losses, was TAKEN BACK by the same Ovadiah Yosef in 2003 http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/37910#.UOaHEY6m1UQ after a few years of SPILLED JEWISH BLOOD, of which such individuals carry the inforgivable responsibility (without Shas and UTJ votes there would have NEVER been Oslo!) as מחטאי את הרבים, people who cause multitudes to sin (by allowing the forbidden, which is a DIRECT CONSEQUENCE of forbidding what's allowed!)

BTW: his boss, Ovadiha Yosef, is not beter... And in fact he chose him!
It took him only thirty years to swallow back his ridiculous psaq...and THOUSANDS OF DEAD JEWS and INCREDIBLE CHILLUL HASHEM!!!

How does the TORAH call someone who predicts good tidings for 'Am Israel if they do something, and when they do the good tidings don't come true???.... Isn't that the EXACT definition of the FALSE PROPHET??? (see RaMba"M)...

What kind of Mittat Beth Din should we impose on this false prophet, with Jewish blood in his hands, ALSO because of whom over 1,200 Jews were murdered in less than ten years, and because of whom (he is a Ben Torah, thus MORE responsible than a "tinoq she-nishba`"...) over 18,000 were injured??? OR IS MITTA BIDE' SHAMAYIM ENOUGH???

The REAL TSADDIQ NEVER SPEAKS EMPTY WORDS... Ovadiah Yosef did...and all on his lonesome, AGAINST ALL OTHER ORTHODOX RABBIS, except his Degel HaTorah friends... the ones of the TWO mandates when they ran against Agudat Israel and Chabad in 1988 who got 5...

COMPARE HIM TO THE REBBE OF LUBAVITCH, WHO SAID THAT FOR HIS (Ovadiah's) SIN TOWARDS AM ISRAEL THERE IS NO TESHUVA (and that can be true only for blood spilling or for causing others to sin) AND REFUSED TO SEE HIM IN HIS OFFICE, and who said that giving away land, even one inch, might (חו"ש) cause the spilling of Jewish blood, and
that whoever says that giving away land is piquach nefesh should go back to Talmud Torah....

In 1995 I was among those under his windows who caused him to loose sleep because of the spilled Jewish blood of which he was responsible... I AM PROUD OF IT!!

"...הַשֹּׁ֗חַד יְעַוֵּר֙ עֵינֵ֣י חֲכָמִ֔ים..." says Hashem in Parashat
Shofetim... WHAT BETTER EXAMPLE!!!!
And Our Sages, the REAL ones, in Pirqe' Avoth {5:8] teach "חרב באה לעולם על עינוי הדין, ועל עיוות הדין, ועל המורים בתורה שלא כהלכה."... He certainly gave a good example of this too...

I just have to say that I do not agree with all of the comments made here.

It's one thing to say that land could be given up in the highly theoretical case that lives were to be saved by doing so, and quite another to say - as Deri does - that despite all the proof that no lives will be saved by giving up land (and in fact the opposite would happen), we should 'withdraw unilaterally.'

As a practical matter, I don't ever see lives being saved in Eretz Yisrael by giving up land, and I therefore oppose it completely.

So what do you disagree with, Carl? Spit it out.

Shy Guy,

I think the personal attacks on Rav Ovadia and Rav Shach (who was no longer functioning when Arafat started his war, proving his true intentions) are inappropriate.

Actually, I was referring to 1995...
At that time, both - had they really had syata diSehmaya and all they say about them - should have been aware that their kashering Oslo was a big mistake: right in the beginning there had been murders, even of Ponevitz yeshiva students, like my friend's son Shalom Lapid, זצוק"ל, הי"ד, murdered with his father Mordechai Lapid, זצוק"ל, הי"ד, in December 1993, with Oslo machine guns, three months from the signing of the Oslo I agreement that both former party friends, one from Bene' Beraq one from Jerusalem, had sponsored. By the middle of 1994 in Afula, Tel Aviv, etc. there had been already MANY car bombs and BUSES BLOWING UP, only thanks to the military grade explosives made available thanks to Oslo II. Yet, those two were callously silent. I NEVER saw them or any shaliach of theirs coming to visit the families of murdered Jews in 20 years in Qiryat Arba.
Only really callous people, blind, misleading and not seeing what's coming, which is the TORAH definition of ChaKham (הרואה את הנולד), needed the Second Oslo War of 2000 to see that their phoney interpretation of Torah, going against all Orthodox rabbis, caused disaster, death, spilling of innocent Jews' blood, etcetera.
Of curse they were not among the 400,000 people who demonstrated in Jerusalem in 1993 under the banner "על תתנו להם רובים", don't give them (the PLO) guns. 400,000 people, at least, knew better than those PHONY GHEDOLIM!
By the way, it was in 1993 that Oslo - and the weapons to the terrorists - passed in the Knesset with Abdallah Yusuf's blessing and Shas votes in favor; and it was in 1995 that Moshe Gafni and his partner in crime Avraham Ravitz, were the TWO VOTES MISSING for even the "חק שיריון ירושלים" to pass, that is the law making sure that Jerusalem could not be given away with less than 75 Knesset Members voting in favor. The two neveloth birshuth haTorah were at a Bar Mitzvah on the Dead Sea!!!!
