As goes Dixville Notch?

I started thinking about Dixville Notch, New Hampshire late last night and this morning.

As a kid growing up in Boston, we would always here about Dixville Notch's 'first in the nation' voting (they were the only ones back then). They always voted Democrat - or so it seemed.

The residents of Dixville Notch voted about an hour and a half before I started this post and the results may surprise you.
This year, Dixville Notch residents cast their votes in a tie: five votes each for President Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. It was the first time in Dixville Notch's history that a tie was recorded.
In 2008, President Obama carried Dixville Notch, beating Sen. John McCain 15 votes to six.
Romney got one less vote than McCain did. But Obama got ten less votes than Obama did.

This election is going to hinge on getting the vote out. If you haven't already, get out and vote for Romney.
