Jewish Federation's General Assembly gives itself over to anti-Israel and anti-Semitic agendas
Caroline Glick has a deeply disturbing indictment of the recently concluded Jewish Federation General Assembly in Denver, Colorado. This year at Jewish Federations of North America's annual General Assembly, they invited the newly minted anti-Israel activist Peter Beinhart to speak. They also showcased the Boston Globe's resident anti-Israel columnist James Carroll. These moves as well as much of the program of the 3-day conference which presented several panels discussing whether anti-Zionists should be embraced by the community are indicative of the advanced suicidal tendencies of the American Jewish community.Caroline goes on to show the Occupy Birthright video that I showed you here, which drew several comments.
This is a community that has for generations seamlessly merged its definition of Judaism with leftist politics. And now that this generation of leftists has cast its lot with the anti-Semites, the young American Jews coming of age have embraced anti-Semitism to show their moral purity.
It may have once gone without saying, but apparently it is no longer obvious that this embrace of Jew hatred by young American Jews is a death embrace for the community.
The only way to deal with this is head on.
But who among the well-funded American Jewish leadership has the courage to tell these young people that they are deranged? Who has the courage to tell their children that they have embraced evil and ought to be ashamed of themselves?
Perhaps this is the real reason why so many Israeli leaders declined to appear at the General Assembly. They didn't want to talk to the walls.

I have been writing this myself for years. The Jewish-American world, is destroying itself trying to be politically correct. They have disenfranchised all in their own community who actually defends Israel-i.e. republican Jews. Their goal is the promotion of a leftist political agenda and defending the democratic party no matter the cost in Jewish lives. Instead of teaching their children pride in their Jewish history they apologize for Jewish history, religion and self-respect. They have become an embarrassment and any Jew who truly cares about the survival of the Jewish people needs to beyond this umbrella organization.It is time for those of us who are proud of our heritage and care about the survival of all Jews, to think beyond the "organized" Jewish community.
I do, Caroline! There are some out here. The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) needs to up their role. They don't have to travel because there are some local people who can pick up the time commitment if RJC can provide the infrastructure on the internet... trust accounts for state or local donations that go back into those localities' GOP structures. Facebook "groups" for college kids that interface with the GOP or the college Republicans that will give the young people an umbrella (now it is a shunning from the Jewish organizations Caroline is talking about or a conversion effort from the Christian college Republicans... we need an umbrella for the kids willing to not follow their elders' derangement. Unfortunately, RJC seems focused like a laser on the high binders in the big cities (understandable, since donations are needed for the big interface with the GOP). There aren't huge donations to be mined from flyover country, but there are stranded people who might participate.
BTW, I don't think the U.S. should be abandoned. It still is not the home of the holocaust, the way the EU and FSU are. Or a brutal dictatorship a la China (is Asia the new "friend" for Israel?). Caroline is pointing out the problem, but not voicing a solution. Maybe she wants to Skype to discuss it? Her voice (and writing) are so fabulous...
Also, in the video (and others I've seen), even the leader(s) of the chanting are reading from a script. So these young Jews are the Robots of someone else. What they are reading is Marcuse Marxism, not Judaism. The Leftist philosophy has supplanted the Torah for these young people. Because the marxist philosophy they are verbalizing is not found in the Torah. It is incompatible with the Torah. In fact, Marx was a rebel against his forefathers' Judaism, as was Herbert Marcuse. Their philosophy has led the way to millions of dead people of all creeds, races, etc.
They are also morons. It's all content-free, diversity-friendly buzz word driven lowest common denominator good intentioned pretentious twee pap.
Take for example, the following self-congratulatory mission statement from a well-known "progressive" liberal Jewish institution in Boston noting their own contributions to the General Assembly:

Yes, there are some Jewish croutons floating around in the boulibase, but they float amongst way-past-their-deadline fish head nuggets like:

For all the good intentions, there's a disconnect between values swaddled in barnacle-like encrustations of generations of liberal doctrine, and a functioning sechel that permits these man- and woman-children to establish an interior spiritual baseline on which to stand, recognize dangers to Israel, prioritize values, and collectively cultivate the project of transmitting a Jewish tradition to their children that is not hip deep in horse shit.
Sparky, the dis-logic of the Leftist Judaism is a problem. So, for example, U.S. food production, distribution, and storage, which has become amazingly efficient and inspected in the major ag operations, is a target for these people. They prefer inefficient, bug and pest infested, inspection-free (when inspected, "urban food" is soaked with pesticides, possibly applied in the dark of the night).
So, when the illogic is noticed, what happens? The person looks to Israel, the mothership, for advice. And finds a decades-long sliming of the U.S. Jewish enterprise, rather than a friendly pathway to do it differently. A sephardic rabbi out in the sticks said that the head Israeli govt rabbis have been talking about the need for this revision, but apparently, the slimes are perpetrated from time to time to accommodate a domestic (Israeli) constituency. Can we please address this and be consistent friends instead?
