When Hamas denies reports of 'collaborators'

You will recall that last week I reported that the IDF had managed to spirit away a 'collaborator' who was about to be caught by Hamas. The 'collaborator' had managed to implant devices that would capture the movements of kidnapped IDF corporal Gilad Shalit.

At the time, I said that I didn't buy the story. I'm reconsidering that now because Hamas is denying it.
An Egyptian newspaper said Thursday that the Al-Qassam Brigades discovered an affiliate was supplying intelligence to help Israel locate captured soldier Gilad Shalit.

The Israeli news site Ynet said Friday that a collaborator provided the Brigades with two-way radios fitted with bugs to allow Israeli interception. The report quoted unnamed Hamas sources saying Israel found out its agent had been discovered and picked him up in a tank from a deserted area near Gaza City. According to the sources, Hamas militants tried to catch the man but were unable to, Ynet said.

Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Ubaidah said he was not familiar with any of the reports, and had no information about Israeli forces taking a collaborator. However, he said the Brigades were aware that Israel frequently tried to recruit collaborators.
Hmmm.

They're really getting worried. Is Israel getting too close for comfort?

Heh
