Video: Haifa's Rambam hospital building underground hospital

Haifa's Rambam hospital is building an underground hospital with more than 2,000 beds that can be used in case of war.

Let's go to the videotape (Hat Tip: NY Nana).

Putting an entire hospital underground is unprecedented at least in this country. However, there is at least one other hospital of which I am aware (Ichilov in Tel Aviv) where ALL of the operating theaters are located underground along with their recovery units. You get to them through underground tunnels in the hospital's basement.

That was also done so that they will be available in times of war and it's a permanent arrangement.

Add this to the $preadsheet showing Israeli expenditure in energy and treasure on protecting Israeli civilians from rockets.

Carl,

Thanks for the hat tip. This is breathtaking. I pray that it will never be needed in case of war.

It should be looked at, I think, by other countries. It is an example of being prepared, in case.
