Mubarak: No need to recognize Israel as a Jewish state
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has told Israel's Channel One television that there is no need for the Arabs in general and for the 'Palestinians' in particular to recognize Israel as a Jewish state."I say to Israeli citizens, including Jews, Muslims and others, that there is no such thing as a state in which all the citizens are Jews," Mubarak told Israel's Channel One network.'Palestinian Authority' negotiator Nabil Shaath echoed Mubarak's words.
"In Egypt, we have Muslims, Christians and Jews and there is no problem. When they wanted to establish a Muslim state in Kosovo, the world came out against it because it did not want a Muslim state in central Europe," he said in the interview broadcast Saturday night.
Senior Palestinian Authority negotiator Nabil Shaath has announced that the PA will never accept Israel as a Jewish state. In addition, he threatened war if the PA fails to obtain its demands through negotiations, saying, “A Palestinian state will arise, either through negotiations or through armed resistance.”Of course, the 'Palestinians' conveniently ignore the fact that the 'Palestinian Authority' is insisting on a Judenrein (Jew-free) 'state of Palestine,' and the fact that there are several countries in the Middle East in which only Muslims can live and/or exercise full political rights (including, de facto, Egypt).
...
Shaath said that recognizing Israel as Jewish state would undermine the PA's demand for the “right of return,” which would grant Israeli citizenship to the millions of descendants of Arab who fled Israel during its War of Independence.
He also claimed that accepting a Jewish state “will directly threaten the Muslim and Christian Palestinians in Israel.”
What could go wrong?

Can I assume that Mubarak will be leading the charge to change Saudi Arabia into a secular state where non-Muslims flourish?
Then there will be no peace agreement. As long as the Arab World and the Palestinians are unwilling to accept the legitimacy of Jewish nationhood, don't look for it happening in our lifetime.
Mubarak: "In Egypt, we have Muslims, Christians and Jews and there is no problem." Right. Just ask the Copts in Egypt.
"And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, they shall have no overflow; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles."

Yir'oo eineinu.
So, when will he change the name of his country from the Arab Republic of Egypt?
No mention of the ongoing genocide of the Christians who "live" in Egypt, how many Jews are there in Egypt or any arab country for that matter?
He is just another mahound, lying, lying, lying to advance a)islam and b) his own son's future as leader, by bolstering his anti-Israel/Jew credentials.
Mubarak is not telling the truth when he says that Egypt has Christians and Jews and there is no problem. Ask the Coptic Christians how they are being treated. They are being persecuted, physically assaulted, jailed etc. Jews in Egypt today are miserable. Mubarak's Egypt is as bad as so many other Arab countries which beat up, killed, or drove out between 800,000 and 900,000 Jews and confiscated their property and bank accounts. What about all the countries officially titled: The Islamic Republic of ..." What about all the "..stan"s? So many Muslim countries but the sliver of soil called Israel can't be Jewish?
Mr Mubarak, with comments like you just made, it's time for Sinai to be returned to Israel. You betray the spirit of the deal with Israel. YOu are also unworthy of the billions in aid the US gives you each year.
