After 15 years in solitary confinement, Yigal Amir wants to be treated like everyone else

After 15 years behind bars, all Yigal Amir wants is to be treated like every other prisoner.
Yigal Amir, the assassin of former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, made a formal complaint in Petah Tikva's District Court on Monday, that he and his brother Hagi are the only prisoners in Israel held for such a long period in solitary confinement.

"Even security prisoners, Hamas prisoners, [northern branch of the Islamic movement head] Raed Salah and Marwan Barghouti are not kept in solitary confinement," said Amir in court.

Amir and his brother have spent the last 15 years in solitary confinement.

He requested that authorities transfer him to the prison section for religious prisoners, saying he was a one-time offender unlikely to repeat his actions.
Amir apparently hasn't figured it out yet (or maybe he has and decided to ask anyway). Barghouti was only convicted of murdering Jews. Salah - who is out of prison more than he is in - has only been convicted of fomenting rebellion. Amir and his brother have been convicted of murdering peace. And in the eyes of Israel's Left (which controls the judicial system), murdering peace is the worst crime of all.

um, no, he didn't kill peace, but he did kill a Prime Minister which isn't chopped liver. But yes, we sure hope, that will be a one-time crime. He was partly a patsy but he pulled the trigger and he owns the deed.

Aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?

Srak! Srak!

Rabin essentially assassinated himself. As Mister T says: "I pity the fool."
