Ban Ki-Moon calls for flotilla probe

The always helpful Ban Ki-Moon has suggested that Israel allow an international probe of the Turkish attempt to run its legal Gaza blockade after all.
A UN statement said Barak and Ban addressed the overall situation in Gaza, with the top UN official stressing the necessity of limiting easing restrictions on the people of Gaza. A closed-door session also reportedly saw Ban address concerns over the prospects for a credible, international probe of the Israeli commando raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla that saw nine civilians shot dead in international waters.
Good luck with that.

Especially since the UNHRC has begun its own "investigation" and we already know what the outcome will be. So why two UN probes? They sound redundant.

JPost is reporting that Barak has agreed to such a probe. I think to do so as the internal probe is underway is foolish. It undermines its legitimacy. And a UN probe implies that Israel is incapable of investigating itself, which in turn, undermines Israel's legitimacy.
