Ahmadinejad should be arrested

Representative Steve Israel (D-NY) called for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahamdinejad to be arrested and charged with incitement to genocide.
"Ahmadinejad shouldn't just be protested in NYC, he should be arrested and tried for incitement to commit genocide," Israel said on his Twitter feed.

In a statement following his tweet, Israel suggested Ahmadinejad be prosecuted under Article 3 of the UN's Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, which outlaws "incitement to commit genocide."

"President Ahmadinejad isn’t merely a pundit whose words can be dismissed: he is the leader of a country developing nuclear arms," Israel said. " He has called for the destruction of Israel and its people. Incitement to Genocide is a punishable act and instead of giving him another platform at the UN, he should be tried."
But Jennifer Rubin points out that Israel's call is nothing but a publicity stunt.
So why isn’t he pressing for regime change or objecting to the administration’s attempt to undercut congressional sanctions?
Why indeed? Because like most of the Democrats in Congress, Israel is willing to stand and shout at Ahmadinejad from far away, but isn't willing to stand up to his President and party leader from up close.

The question is why Israel is keeping him alive. Haven't they learned anything from the Holocaust? Just because he heads a government does not mean allowing him to get away with it.
