'Palestinian negotiator': We may ask UN for recognition

'Palestinian' chief negotiator bottle washer Saeb Erekat told Haaretz that the 'Palestinians' may ask the United Nations Security Council to recognize a unilaterally established 'Palestinian' reichlet in the territory liberated by Israel in 1967.
The Palestinian Authority is considering seeking recognition from the United Nations Security Council of a Palestinian state along 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, senior negotiator Saeb Erekat told Palestinian newspaper Al-Ayyam in a report published Saturday.

Erekat said that the Palestinian Authority has already received support for the idea from other Arab states and added that Russia and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon have also apparently expressed support for the plan.

Erekat also said that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is trying to garner additional support for the proposal during his current visit to South American countries.
Will Obama cast an American veto? I doubt it.

What could go wrong?

There's no doubt the Palestinians think they can by-pass Israel with the world's support. And why not? Israel still has no answer for what it might do if the Palestinians seek UN recognition of a state that rejects Israel's right to exist.

What could go wrong indeed

Let them declare a state...

Let them declare jerusalem theirs...

So what?

The moment they do, they create new facts on the ground...

Israel at that moment can and should cut off the west bank completely from Israel.

If the new state of Palestine has BORDER and LAND issues it can join the rest of the world and live with it...

If they seek to redress borders with war? Give them war...

If Palestine is created? Great, any and all Israeli arabs convicted of treason should be stripped of citizenship and property and expelled TO PALESTINE

Norman,
If the UN were to recognize Palestine than would not the next missile or homicide bomber be considered an act of war? Justifying an appropriate response?
It is a serious question.
