The IDF discriminates against Jews?
Speaking of political correctness in the IDF, here's some more of it. A Jewish soldier being inducted into the IDF asked to join the course to be a gashash (scout). The gashashim (scouts) have traditionally been Bedouins. Here's the response:The IDF has reportedly rejected the petition of a Jewish inductee to the army who requested serving in the IDF trackers (gashash) course saying it is for Bedouin only. The soldier, who lives in Yesha, was placed in another unit and told that if he did not agree to the move he would be placed in military prison.Heh.
The soldier responded with a letter criticizing the IDF for discriminating against Jewish soldiers. The IDF says it will review its policy on the matter.
By the way, that's not the only IDF unit that's reserved for certain soldiers. I have it on good source that if you're a 'settler' it's almost impossible to break into certain units (unfortunately, I cannot discuss the one I'd like to cite, because it would be too easy to track down my source).

The leftists who run the IDF have certain policies and it is almost impossible to change them. Deference towards Arabs, harshness towards Jews. We see the IDF ordered to respect Ramadan but not to refrain from booting Jews out of their homes. This is not principle guiding a moral army. Its hypocrisy.
What could go wrong indeed
