Brit Zedek v'Shalom trying to line people up to detonate the US - Israel alliance

I guess I hang out with the wrong people, because I haven't gotten this.

Mere Rhetoric reports that he has now twice received an appeal from moderate leftist Brit Zedek v'Shalom - via the newspaper whose editor once asked Condi Rice to rape us - urging him to 'stand with President Obama' in destroying the US - Israel alliance (via Little Green Footballs).

If you click on "Sign The Pledge" you commit the following to Dear Leader:
* to back your committed and persistent leadership in support of a negotiated two-state solution
* to work within my communities to build the political will that will enable you to take decisive and bold steps -- and to urge Congress to support you in this endeavor
* to make it known that an American President who dedicates himself to establishing a durable Israeli-Palestinian peace acts in the best interests of Israelis, Palestinians, the United States and our allies
* to support you in staying the course through difficult times and to celebrate your successes.

The line about fighting back against Congressmen and women who don't want to detonate the US-Israel alliance is predictable. But it's the "back your leadership" and "celebrate your successes" pledges that give it that creepy, searching-for-a-father-figure edge.

Read the whole thing.

I wonder if Bob Wexler and Gary Ackerman have signed on yet. David Landau would fit right in with them.

The Left seems to have a death wish. Inflicting it upon Israel isn't going to maintain US-Israel relations or to bring peace closer.

Hopenchange anyone?
