Sky News interview with Hamas Lebanon rep

This is a rather lengthy interview by Sky News with Hamas' Lebanese representative Osama Hamdan. This interview can be summed up in one word: evasive. Hamdan deflects all questions regarding 'peacemaking' by trying to throw them on Israel.

But the interviewer, Jeremy Thompson, didn't ask Hamdan the one question he should have asked: What does Hamdan mean by 'occupation'? Surely not Gaza, because Israel is no longer there. Judea and Samaria? That's not what Hamdan means either. No, Hamdan and Hamas regard Israel's very presence in the Jewish state on the Jewish homeland as 'occupation.' To him, ending the occupation means murdering us or deporting us to other countries around the world.

He even ducks the question of whether Hamas can ever live in 'peace' with Israel (and don't be surprised that Hamdan is so kind to Arafat - Arafat coddled Hamas and that's why it's the force it is today).

Let's go to the videotape. But first, if you haven't voted in the last 24 hours, please go here and vote for me as the best Midsize blog in the 2008 Weblog Awards. And now the video.
