Kassams hit Sderot homes

A Kassam hit a home in Sderot a short time ago wounding four people, one of them moderately. The moderately-wounded man suffered shrapnel wounds to his torso and limbs and was rushed to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon.

A second rocket hit a different home in Sderot, causing damage. Magen David Adom paramedics treated three people in that home for shock.

In the first house, the Kassam came through the roof into the house.

The rocket hit the house of Shlomo Ohayon, an employee of the Sderot Municipality. One of his sons told Ynet: "While we were inside the house we heard a blast. The rocket hit the roof and fell into the attic, near the bathroom. There's a lot of mess here, everyone woke up in panic. this was a great miracle – it could have resulted with a lot more casualties."

Ohayon's neighbor said: "We heard a very loud explosion. I ran outside frightened and saw the rocket penetrate the roof. The entire family was inside and there was plenty of turmoil and quite a lot of panic there. Magen David Adom teams, firefighters and police forces are in the place. We are lucky that a greater disaster did not occur."

Despite the IDF's operation in Gaza, more than twenty Kassams were fired at the Western Negev from Gaza over the course of the weekend.

Another resident, Shlomo Moyal told YNet:
"We were at the synagogue praying when we heard the Red Dawn alert system go off. Then a loud explosion was heard and the rocket landed very close to the synagogue.

"I ran there and entered the Ohayon house to see if they needed help. All the family members were sitting on the stairs inside in a state of shock. I made sure that there were no wounded other than panic casualties and the one injured man that was evacuated. The damage to the house is huge," he described.

"Unfortunately, this is a rocket-stricken area. More than a 100 rockets landed in a 10-meter radius and in the nearby vicinity. How much longer can we go on like this?" he asked.
