'Palestinian Authority' appointed Imam gives television tips on how to beat your wife

What's most amazing about this is not that it happened, but the reaction of the naive westerners to a glimpse of true Islamic behavior.

Hassan Al-Laham is the top Muslim spiritual leader for Gaza appointed by the 'moderate' 'Palestinian Authority.' (No, this guy isn't even appointed by Hamas, even though he's in Gaza). Official 'moderate' 'Palestinian Authority' television carried this lesson by him informing husbands how to beat their wives... and get away with it.

Let's go to the videotape.

This video, which Fox News calls 'shocking' (Hat Tip: Memeorandum), is actually more than three years old (where was the media for the last three years?). Shocking? Hardly. Certainly not to anyone at all familiar with Islam.

But there's much more to this interview than the short clip you just saw.
Explaining that divorce must be a last resort in Islam, Al-Laham laid out the four steps that should come first.

"Allah said: Warn them [the wives], and separate from them, and hit them, and bring an arbitrator from his family and an arbitrator from her family," he said.
Al-Laham, whose title makes him the top spiritual leader appointed by the Palestinian Authority, then went into detail about how a husband should hit a wife.
"Not hitting that will bring the police, and break her hand and cause bleeding, or hitting that makes the face ugly," he said.
The hitting should "be like a joke," even reinforcing "the love and friendship" between the couple, he said.
I don't know about you but I can tell you that if God Forbid I hit my wife, it would not reinforce the love and friendship between us. And my guess is that most Muslim women would tell you - if they felt safe talking about it - that being beaten by their husbands does not reinforce love and friendship.

So why is the West so shocked by this? Because Muslims get a free pass from the Western media. They're considered so 'exotic' and 'cool' that they can do no wrong.

The world needs to wake up to this misogynistic cult.

Here's another example. Let's go to the videotape.

Okay, that one was staged. But it was staged to make a point. Abuse of girls and women happens all too much in the Arab Muslim world. It's time to stop giving them a pass on it.

Image: Abu Mazen's new palace

Life is so, so hard in the 'occupied territories.'

From here (comments are mostly in Hebrew). According to the person who posted it, it's Abu Mazen's 'guest palace.'

By the way, there are many luxurious homes in Judea and Samaria. Back in the old days, before the existence of the 'Palestinian Authority' necessitated bypass roads in order to prevent Jews from being murdered, we used to play a game when we road through the 'Palestinian' suburbs in Jerusalem on the way to visiting Mrs. Carl's sister in Samaria. In the game, we tried to choose in which house we would most want to live (based on the house and not the neighborhood).

But if you're wondering where all that western aid money to the 'Palestinians' went, this ought to give you an idea.

Surprise: Mizrachi murderer was released in Shalit deal

The 'Palestinian' terrorist who murdered police Chief Superintendant Baruch Mizrachi on Passover eve as he was on his way to his seder has been caught. I'm sure you'll all be shocked to hear that he was released as part of the 2011 terrorists for Gilad trade (link in Hebrew).

The murderer is Ziad Awad. Awad is 42 and is from the village of Idna. He was arrested at the beginning of the month along with his 18-year old son Iz-a-Din, who helped plan the terror attack and helped his father to escape. The family that plays together....

Awad carried out the attack with a Kalashnikov rifle while riding a motorcycle. He told his son that he did it for the sake of Islam and that those who murder Jews gain admittance to Paradise. So much for anyone who still believes that this is not a religious war.

Awad was originally arrested in 1999 and sentenced to 27 years in jail for murdering 'Palestinian collaborators.' He was released in the 2011 terrorists for Gilad trade.

The army says it was a miracle that no one other than Mizrachi was killed - Awad shot hundreds of rounds.

I believe that tens of people should spend some time in Mizpe Hila this summer in front of the Shalit home with pictures of Mizrachi.

I also believe that Awad (not from the same village as - but possible related to - the two Awad scumbags who murdered the Fogel family of Itamar in 2011) and his son ought to get the death penalty. It's long past time to start implementing it.

UPDATE 2:22 PM

I'm sure Leftist Noam Shalit will lead a demonstration against the home demolition. He's only into collective punishment when Jews are being punished.

But the death penalty would be much better. It is the only thing that will assure that Awad will never again go free.

'Palestinians': 'Our blood is redder than Jewish blood'

A 'Palestinian Authority minister' who condemned the Passover eve terror attack in which Baruch Mizrachi HYD (May God Avenge his blood) was murdered, is still being subjected to condemnation by other 'Palestinians,' including his own family.
The report in the Israeli media about the minister's supposed condemnation has triggered an unprecedented smear campaign against al-Habbash.
Within minutes, a photograph of the minister, dressed up as a Jewish rabbi, appeared on many Palestinian websites, making him the public's number one enemy.
Al-Habbash's attempts to deny that he had condemned the terrorist attack have fallen on deaf ears. Many Palestinians appealed to PA President Mahmoud Abbas to fire him and bring him to trial for causing damage to the Palestinian cause.
In a futile bid to contain the public outcry, the beleaguered al-Habbash told a Ramallah-based TV station, "I didn't use the word condemn. I only said that the Palestinian leadership rejects all acts of violence."
The minister's family in the Gaza Strip rushed to issue a statement "disowning" him over his purported condemnation of the terrorist attack.
In the statement, the al-Habbash clan said, "We are proud of the heroic operation in Hebron and of every man and child fighting against the occupation. We disown him and anyone who embraces the despicable Israeli enemy."
The family later issued another statement denying that it had disowned the minister.
The attacks on al-Habbash have come from Palestinians representing all walks of life, including the ruling Fatah faction in the West Bank.
Zakariya Zubeidi, a well-known former leader of Fatah's terrorist group, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, called on al-Habbash to apologize to the Palestinians. "If your blood is like the blood of the Zionists, our blood is not," Zubeidi declared.
What nice people! I'll bet they'll stop behaving this way once we give them a 'state.' /sarc

'Palestinians' seethe at minister who was 'pained' by murder of Israeli

Israel Radio reports that the 'Palestinians' are seething at their Endowments Minister Mahmoud El Habash, and are demanding his removal, after Habash said earlier this week that he was 'pained' by the murder of Baruch Mizrachi HY"D (May God Avenge his blood) in a terror attack on Monday.
Endowments Minister Mahmoud El Habash told Israeli reporters in Ramallah earlier this week that he was “pained” by the murder of 47-year-old Baruch Mizrachi as he was driving with his family to a Passover seder in the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba.

“We condemn the killing of all people irrespective of their background,” El Habash was quoted as saying by Army Radio. “The idea of killing and violence is completely illegitimate.”

Al Habash has also been quoted as saying that “Palestinian blood, just like Israeli blood, is dear and humane” and “the color of Palestinian blood is the same as Israeli blood.”

According to Israel Radio, these remarks prompted Palestinians in the territories to demand that El Habash be removed from his ministerial post and put on trial.

Leaflets are being circulated in Gaza with El Habash’s picture branding him “the wayward son” while Palestinians on Facebook have threatened to kill the minister, Israel Radio reported. In doctored images that have been placed on posters, El Habash has been dressed in ultra-Orthodox garb.
But 'peace' is at hand. Just ask John FN Kerry.

Sorry Herb, it's not the Arab League's lack of clout (but you knew that)

Here's an instance where the headline writer got it wrong. The headline gives the impression that Herb Keinon is arguing in the JPost that what's holding 'Moderate' 'Palestinian' President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen back from opening talks with Israel is the Arab League's lack of clout. But Herb actually has it almost right. The issue here isn't that the Arab League lacks clout - it's that 20 years after Oslo the 'Palestinian street' is as uninterested in real peace as ever.
On Wednesday, the Arab League representatives gave full-throated backing to Kerry’s efforts.
“The Arab delegates believe Kerry’s ideas proposed to the committee today constitute a good ground and suitable environment for restarting the negotiations, especially the new and important political, economic and security elements,” they said in a statement from Amman.
With this green light, many assumed, the road was paved for Abbas to give a resounding yes. But those who assumed that the Palestinians would jump on Kerry’s offer once the Arab League gave its blessing misread the mood on the Palestinian street.
There, where the Arab League has disappointed time and time again, not a whole lot of stock is placed in what the foreign ministers of countries that have not delivered for them really think.
The PLO’s failure to grasp the Kerry offer is the Palestinian leadership responding to its grassroots, and the message filtering up from the grassroots is that time is on their side, more can be extracted from Israel and why enter into negotiations with a man they genuinely dislike and do not trust: Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Kerry thought that the Arab League backing would impress the Palestinians. But this backing from countries on the ropes like Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Tunisia and Yemen impressed no one. It simply does not matter.
The Palestinians will do what they want, and what they want is to continue their struggle because of a sense that time and world opinion – as evidenced by the current brouhaha over the new EU settlement guidelines – is on their side and will eventually wear Israel down until it gives them what they want.
If Abu Mazen were a real leader with real clout, perhaps he could open talks and could lead his 'people' in the direction of peace. But Abu Mazen is all about preserving Abu Mazen in power, and he has as little interest in peace as his putative 'people.' Unfortunately, there is no 'Palestinian leader' on the horizon who would be more willing than Abu Mazen to live in peace with Israel.

Actually, my impression is that a large percentage of the 'Palestinian people' - certainly those who live in 'east' Jerusalem and those who hold jobs in Jewish establishments in Judea and Samaria - actually like the current situation. They get all the economic positives from Israel while holding out hope for an eventual 'Palestinian state' that they would probably try to escape anyway.

What could go wrong?

But is the fetus a 'martyr'?

Shavua tov, a good week to everyone. A bit of a late start tonight because I was away for the Sabbath.

Just give them a 'state' and they'll stop doing things like this.... A pregnant 27-year old woman was beaten to death in a clash between clans in Gaza on Saturday (Hat Tip: Herb G).
A pregnant women was killed on Saturday during a family dispute in the Gaza Strip, locals said.

A 27-year-old woman was brutally beaten during a dispute between two families in Khan Younis and was evacuated to a local hospital, where her and the unborn baby were pronounced dead, witnesses told Ma'an.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
So is the fetus a 'martyr'?

Senior PA official: If we had a nuke we'd have used it this morning

To anyone who thinks that the 'Palestinians' have lasting peace in mind if they return to the 'negotiating table,' maybe this will disabuse you of that illusion.

Let's go to the videotape.

More 'Palestinian' reactions to the Newtown massacre to make your blood boil

If you think that the 'Palestinian's reaction to the Newtown massacre that I posted before was atypical, it wasn't. Here's a small selection of 'Palestinian' reactions, starting with how pro-'Palestinian' activist https://twitter.com/Remroum (over 13,000 followers) reacted to the shootings:

Keep these charming people in mind the next time you hear President Obama whining about how the 'Palestinians' need a 'state.'

Government preparing for riots on Tuesday

If the 'Palestinians' get their way, the Kotel (Western Wall) may not look so quiet later on Tuesday as it appears below.
Internet organizers are continuing efforts to bring Palestinians to the streets on Tuesday, the last day in a three-day “Naksa Day” commemoration that began on Friday and continued on Sunday.

The Facebook group “Countdown to the Third Palestinian Intifada” – which has amassed 379,000 followers, or “likes” – has designated Tuesday as the “Day of Allegiance to Jerusalem” and called on supporters to march on the capital’s Al-Aksa Mosque in a display of loyalty to the city.

...

While police will be on high alert in Jerusalem, both Arab and left-wing activists said they were unaware of any protests planned in the capital on Tuesday, despite Internet plans to march on the Aksa Mosque.

Activists had similar plans on Sunday, but marchers trying to enter Jerusalem from the Kalandiya checkpoint were turned back just meters past the checkpoint, and the march degenerated into skirmishes between approximately 250 Palestinians and the army along the Jerusalem-Ramallah highway.

In the clashes, one policeman and 40 demonstrators were wounded.

Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby dismissed the chances of a march from Kalandiya successfully reaching the capital, on Tuesday or any day.

“We have the army in front of us, and the army certainly knows how to deal with this situation,” he said on Monday. “So far, [the Naksa demonstrations] haven’t caught on in Jerusalem. If they do develop here, we will do everything necessary to contain it.”
Maybe the 'Palestinians' can't get any 'real Palestinians' to show up for a demonstration in Jerusalem, because all the 'real Palestinians' are figuring out how to remain Israeli citizens if - God forbid - there is a 'Palestinian state.' Heh.
