France honoring 'Palestinian' terrorist group responsible for Zeevi and Fogel murders

An event will be held in Paris on Wednesday to honor 'Palestinian' terrorism, and in particular the Popular Front for the Liberation of 'Palestine,' the group responsible for the assassination of Tourism Minister Rechavam Zeevi and for the murders of five members of the Fogel family in Itamar two years ago. This is from the first link.
A public event in support of Palestinian Arab terrorism will take place next Wednesday, the 17th of April, at the chamber of commerce of Saint-Denis, a popular district in the outskirts of the Parisian municipality. Many well known 'anti-racist' organizations support the initiative, including the "Ligue des Droits de l’Homme" and the "Mouvement contre le Racisme et pour l’Amitié entre les Peuples".
Salah Hamouri, the member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) who planned to assassinate former Sephardic Chief Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, Shas’ spiritual leader, will attend the event. Hamouri was one of 550 prisoners freed to complete a deal in which Israel released 1,027 prisoners for soldier Gilad Shalit.
"Rabbi Yosef deserves to die", the French terrorist declared after his liberation. The terrorist is an object of a worship in the French leftist press and benefits from important support, to the point of being given the title of honorary citizen in three cities in France.
Present at the Saint-Denis event will also be a public official of the city of Bezons, which just granted honorary citizenship to Majdi Rahima Rimawi, the Palestinian PFLP terrorist who was sentenced to life in prison in Israel for his role in the assassination of then-Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze'evi. Fathya Barghouti, the wife of Rimawi, will also attend the French initiative.
We must not forget that PFLP terrorists killed Jews in Paris itself. On Friday October 3, 1980, the eve of Succot, a motorbike bomb exploded outside the Copernic Synagogue, the liberal synagogue of the Paris elite. Four people lay dead on the street and in the synagogue interior. The bombing fell on the 39th anniversary of the “Jewish Decrees” of the Vichy regime.
France is a really sick country. No wonder so many of its Jews are moving here. Read the whole thing.

Sick: Paris suburb makes Ze'evi assassin an honorary citizen

If anyone still needed proof that anti-Semitism is way too acceptable in France, you now have it. A Paris suburb has made the assassin of Israeli tourism minister Rechavam Ze'evi HY"D (May God Avenge his blood) an honorary citizen.
Bezons awarded the title last month to Majdi Al-Rimawi, according to the March edition of its official newsletter, Bezons Infos. The motion to recognize Rimawi passed unanimously at a special council vote of the municipality, which is northwest of Paris and nearly eight miles from the city's center.
“He is imprisoned for more than 10 years in an Israeli prison. His crime? Defending his city and its inhabitants, calling for the application of international law for the establishment of Palestine in the 1967 borders as recognized by the United Nations and Jerusalem as its capital. For this he was sentenced in 2002 [sic] to life in prison… More than 80 years!” proclaims the newsletter article.
The article does not mention the 2008 conviction of Rimawi, a member of the terrorist organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, for the murder of Ze’evi in Jerusalem in 2001. Rimawi was one of four shooters who waited for Ze’evi, Israel's minister of tourism, outside a hotel in Jerusalem.
Bezons Mayor Dominique Lesparre was quoted as calling the vote to honor Rimawi “a strong political act.”
The inscription on the plaque prepared by Bezons, which has a population of approximately 28,000, referred to Al-Rimawi as a "political prisoner," according to Palestinian Media Watch.
The real question here is why al-Rimawi hasn't had a little 'accident' in prison yet....

More Shalit fallout: PFLP cell that planned to kidnap and ransom Israeli busted

The Israeli security forces have broken up a terror cell that planned to kidnap an Israeli to ransom in exchange for Popular Front for the Liberation of 'Palestine' leader Ahmed Saadat (pictured, center). Saadat was the leader of the terror cell that assassinated Tourism Minister Rechavam Zeevi in the Hyatt Hotel here in Jerusalem.
"Some of the members admitted to planning a kidnapping," the Shin Bet [Israel Security Agency]" added.
The Agency named Ashraf Abu Aram, 26, and Muhammad Zeitoun, 26 - both from Ramallah - as the two main suspects. Abu Aram allegedly founded the cell.
"Abu Aram got in touch with a weapons dealer to try and obtain two handguns and an automatic rifle," the Shin Bet said.
The suspects weighed carrying out a combined shooting and kidnapping attack on IDF forces, with the shooting designed to create a distraction. A second plan involved kidnapping an Israeli hitchhiker from the Jit Junction in Samaria, the northern West Bank.
The kidnap victim would have been taken in a van to a hideout apartment in Kafr Akab, on the outskirts of Ramallah.
Both men have been charged with conspiracy to kidnap a soldier and host of other security charges.
Two additional suspects affiliated with the PFLP have been arrested for plotting disturbances against security forces.
After the 'success; of the Gilad Shalit kidnapping and ransom, no one should be surprised that the terror organizations would like to try it again.

Fatah 'faction' fired rockets from Gaza

The Popular Front for the Liberation of 'Palestine,' a 'faction' of 'moderate' 'Palestinian' President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen's 'Palestinian Authority,' has claimed 'credit' for firing three rockets at Israel from Gaza on Monday.
The armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine says it fired three rockets into southern Israel on Monday.

In a statement, the Abu Ali Mustapha Brigades claimed responsibility for firing rockets into Ashkelon, Nahal Oz and Beersheba

An Israeli military spokesman said militants in Gaza fired five rockets across the border on Monday, noting a Grad rocket fired at Beersheba was intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system. No damage or injuries have been reported, he added.

Schools in the southern Israeli cities of Beersheba, Ashkelon and Ashdod will close on Tuesday over fears of further attacks, the Israeli news site Ynet reported.
Maybe they were celebrating the anniversary of the murder of Rechavam Zeevi HY"D (May God Avenge his blood).

Of course, we'll hear all the usual excuses about how Abu Bluff has no control....

The Obama administration continues to ignore 'Palestinian' terror support

This is from Ben Smith's report on Friday's conference call between National Security Council official Dan Shapiro and American 'Jewish leaders.'
One note on the call that left participants dissatisfied: The official said he wasn't aware of a recent letter from chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat to a Palestinian [Ahmed Sa'adat. CiJ] convicted in the assassination of an Israeli cabinet minister [Rechavam Zeevi. CiJ].

Erekat described the letter as "humanitarian" and said it wasn't a gesture of support for the deed.
I discussed the Erekat letter here.

Let's face it folks: The Obama administration is turning a blind eye to terror in its zeal for the establishment of a 'Palestinian state.' Shapiro's claim that he wasn't aware of the letter is totally disingenuous.

What could go wrong?

'Moderate' Erekat praises Zeevi assassination mastermind

'Palestinian' chief negotiator bottle washer Saeb Erekat recently sent a letter of praise to Ahmed Saadat, the mastermind of the 2001 assassination of Tourism Minister Rechavam Zeevi HY"D (may God avenge his blood).
Saeb Erekat, a Palestinian Authority negotiator whom Israeli leftists often depict as a moderate voice, recently sent a letter of praise to the terrorist who planned the assassination of Israeli minister Rechavam Ze'evi in 2001.

Channel 10 television reported Sunday that Erekat warmly addressed Sa'adat, the head of the PFLP terror group who is serving a 30 year sentence in an Israeli jail, as “my dear brother,” adding that he was writing him “in order to express the strongest emotions of solidarity and brotherhood.”

“The occupation is carrying out a policy of defeat and humiliation towards you [prisoners] by canceling your accomplishments,” Erekat went on. “You exhibited steadfast resistance that has become the stuff of legend, during which many martyrs fell.”

"Our beloved one, the darkness of the jail will come to an end. We believe that we will meet soon and celebrate the victory and the liberation and freedom, for all prisoners.”

Erekat responded to the Channel 10 report by saying: “My letter is not political but humanitarian. I did not praise his deeds. Just as people in Israel care about Jonathan Pollard, we care for our prisoners. The Israeli should keep their noses out of matters that are not their business.”
Pollard wasn't responsible for anyone's death (go re-read Lawrence Korb's statement). The comparison is odious.
