Democrats use Holocaust imagery against Jewish Ohio Senate candidate
Senator Sherrod Brown's (D-Oh) campaign is running an ad against Republican rival Joshua Mandel that accuses Mandel of being the 'candidate of the big lie.' The 'big lie' is a term associated with Nazi propaganda, and Mandel is Jewish.

Brown’s ad does not specifically mention Nazis, but the term “big lie” is still closely identified with them. Earlier this week, John Burton, chairman of the California delegation to the Democrats’ Charlotte convention, was criticized when he compared Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan to the Nazis and referenced the “big lie.”
“They lie and they don’t care if people think they lie. Joseph Goebbels. It’s the big lie, you keep repeating it,” Burton told the San Francisco Chronicle. He reiterated the point in an interview with ABC: “If you’re not telling the truth, you’re lying. Joseph Goebbels’ concept was the big lie. If you tell it enough, people will think it’s the truth.”
Goebbels was Hitler’s minister of propaganda.
This is not the first time Brown has linked his opponents to Nazis. In March 2011 he publicly apologized after comparing Republican governors pushing union reforms to Hitler and Stalin in a speech on the Senate floor.

Since Iran would not hesitate to murder its own citizens for political gain, it's not surprising that it would accuse Israel of doing the same thing. But of course it's a lie.
"It's amazing that just a few minutes after the terrorist attack, Israeli officials announced that Iran was behind it," Iran's UN Ambassador Mohammad Khazaee told a UN Security Council debate on the Middle East. "We have never and will not engage in such a despicable attempt on... innocent people."
"Such terrorist operation could only be planned and carried out by the same regime whose short history is full of state terrorism operations and assassinations aimed implicating others for narrow political gains," Khazaee said. "I could provide ... many examples showing that this regime killed its own citizens and innocent Jewish people during the last couple of decades.
Israel's UN Ambassador Haim Waxman said Iran's fingerprints were all over the bomb attack in Bulgaria, as well as dozens of other plots in recent months around the world.
"These comments are appalling, but not surprising from the same government that says the 9/11 attack was a conspiracy theory and denies the Holocaust," Waxman said in a statement.
The photoshop at the top of this post came from an Arab newspaper, and needless to say, I condemn it. But it seems the only appropriate picture to add to a post about a video in German, which has been dubbed with different words and subtitled in Hebrew, in which Nazi propaganda master Joseph Goebbels 'endorses' Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Israelis of all political stripes are aghast over a Youtube video showing Nazi propagandist Josef Goebbels endorsing Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. The video, titled “Bibi Uber Alles,” clearly violates pending and existing laws against using Nazi imagery and inciting hatred, wrote commenters on the video site's page, and called for police prosecution of the individual who posted the video.
In the video, called “one of the worst examples of leftist hate ever on the internet” by one commenter on the video's YouTube page, Goebbels is seen speaking to a mass audience of Germans in archival footage from a Nazi rally in the 1930s. However, interspersed in the video (obviously edited in) are shots of “settler” types, including what appears to be a woman wearing a head scarf – and oddly, one who bears a striking resemblance to former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert – along with the archival footage of Nazi-supporting masses.
The audio of the footage is in German, but the Hebrew subtitles make clear the intention of the poster: Goebbels tells the audience that “we want a new kind who will bring us prosperity, lower taxes, and kill Arabs. Raise your hands for Bibi Netanyahu, king of the world, now and forever.” The audience responds enthusiastically, repeating “Heil Bibi” over and over.
The video's author is listed as “Christian101,” and on Wednesday night it appeared on the Facebook page of an individual who calls himself Meir Mendelson, who wrote in a comment that “the cult of personality encouraged by Bibi the megalomaniac will lead to a catastrophe.”
The good news is that I could not find Christian 101 on YouTube (and I could not access Meir Mendelson on Facebook) so maybe it has been taken down.

After 66 years of silence, Brunhilde Pomsel, the secretary of Joseph Goebbels, the Propaganda Minister of Hitler, finally speaks. Aged 100, she gave an interview to Bild in which she states, among others, have taken note of the order to murder the Jews of Berlin.
This may seem like a minor blip on the radar chart, but in an age full of Holocaust deniers and in which most of the protagonists are dead or dying, this sort of eyewitness evidence is important.

Yisrael Medad has a further quote from her which leaves the admission intact but tries to absolve herself.
'I didn't know about the Holocaust. I was a stupid, politically uninterested little sausage of simple means. I only learned about the Jewish extermination programme after the war. Goebbels never mentioned it in his correspondence.
