Hey Barack - if it's such a great deal, why all the secrecy?

In an address to the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations on Monday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu challenged President Hussein Obama to make public the deal he is reaching with Iran.
"Just as Iran knows what kind of agreement is being offered, it's only natural that Israel should know the details of the deal being formulated," said Netanyahu during a meeting with the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. "But if there are those who think this is a good agreement, why must it be hidden?"
Netanyahu said that he is determined to go ahead with his March 3 address to a joint session of Congress.
"I am going to Washington because it is my obligation to do everything in my power to stop a bad deal," said Netanyahu. "Can I guarantee my speech in Congress will prevent a bad deal with Iran? Honestly, I don't know. The better question is How could a responsible Israeli Prime Minister refuse to speak to Congress on a matter that could affect our very existence," continued Netanyahu.
Netanyahu says he's not opposed to a deal with Iran.
Netanyahu also noted that the offer that the world powers have put on the table leaves Tehran with a clear path to becoming a nuclear power. "I'm not against a deal with Iran," said Netanyahu, adding, "I'm against a bad deal with Iran and that's why I'm going to Washington. I do not see this issue in partisan terms. The survival of Israel is not a partisan issue."
Too bad so many Democrats see Israel's survival as a partisan issue....

The secrecy really stems from the fact that any so called agreement, any announcement will be a footnote to what has already occurred. Any rational sounding agreement that Obama could make would point to the facts, the undeniable reality of science and engineering that Iran has been a nuclear armed state already and that Obama couldn't possibly not know that in this world or any other. President "I Love Science and Technology" will be pilloried or even impeached if his announcement points in the direction of papering over the pre existing nuclear status of Iran for domestic political reasons. And can you imagine the spinning hoops his media would have to jump through to defend that? There's only so much Chris Matthews can blame on the GOP and Israel.
