Israel has been in high tech for a long time

Sorry, but I think this one is a bit of an exaggeration. Israel did not develop the cell phone, although it did develop a lot of components that are currently used in the cell phone.

In the summer of 1982, Mrs. Carl called me from Napierville, Illinois while I was sitting in my summer office in Chicago. She said that she was calling from a 'car phone' that her company - Bell Labs - was developing.

So no, I don't think Israel developed the cell phone... or that Al Gore invented the internet.
