Al-Qaeda deeply entrenched in Gaza

An IAF strike that killed two senior al-Qaeda terror operatives shows just how deeply the terror group is entrenched in Gaza.
The two Gaza terrorists killed by Israel on Saturday were the most senior al-Qaida affiliates in the Palestinian enclave, and one had links to jihadi networks in Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, sources said on Sunday.
Hisham al-Saedni and Ashraf al-Sabah, who were killed by an air strike as they rode a motorcycle, were ultra-conservative Salafi Islamists.
Armed Salafis, while a fringe presence in Gaza, have been stepping up violence against Israel while at times clashing with the Palestinian Hamas government. They also operate in the neighboring Egyptian Sinai.
Saedni and Sabah were leaders, respectively, of the Tawhid wa-Jihad and Ansar Al-Sunna groups, two Salafi sources said. The movements share al-Qaida's vision of global jihad and opposed the more pragmatic Islamism espoused by Hamas and Cairo's politically dominant Muslim Brotherhood.
The men had recently merged their groups to form the umbrella Majles Shoura Al-Mujahideen (Holy Warriors' Guidance Council), the sources said, becoming the de facto heads of the diffuse Gaza jihadi network.
"Their blood will be a light to guide the holy warriors through the right path and will be fire that will burn the Jews," one of the sources told Reuters, saying reprisals would not be limited to the short-range rocket launches that are Gaza militants' favoured mode of attack on Israel.
 What could go wrong?

Oh you're so ignorant Carl,

Zionism means different things to different people. When they say Zionism is racism they're referring to those Zionists whose interpretation of Zionism means superior rights for Jews, and other worthy of expulsion. Either that or reduce them to fifth class status with no rights or little rights.

In other words the kind of Zionism a low life kahanist like you supports.

Chayma, where is this coming from? For you anti-Zionism may be eternally correct but that doesn't meen it's an appropriate response to each and every topic under the sun. This post isn't about anti-Zionism or even Hamas' ideology of anti-Semitism, but people who believe "Their blood will be a light to guide the holy warriors through the right path and will be fire that burn the Jews." Great, they want to kill Jews. This is a good thing? Btw, guys who want to "burn Jews" and also are rivals to ... Hamas manage to be located and deep sixed by the IDF while "on a motorbike in Northern Gaza." Is it that much of a leap to suspect that Hamas tipped off Israel as to where these guys would be.

Sparky,

Apologies.

That comment was for another blog post, I misposted it. It was a response to Carl calling 'Jewish Voice for Pease' anti Zionist because they understand where Ali Abunimah is coming from.

Anti Zionism to Ali Abunimah means what I described above, not the utopian yet to happen Zionism, which is supposed to be 'light unto the nations'. Untill that comes about, we're entitled to call it 'blight unto the nations' due to the occupation, and it's perfectly acceptable and righteous to be anti Zionist. Many Jews are too, as is much of the world, in fact most of the world. Only the Armeggedon cult are Zionists and not because they like Judaism but because they think Jesus will come riding back to kill the heretic Jews who don't convert when he arrives.

For the record, i'm no fan of Al Qaeda, who are a bunch of miscreants and thugs not the 'religous warriors' they call themselves. They ignore Islam's 'warrior code', rules of battle etc. as laid out in Sharia law. They're the opposite side of the coin to Kahanists and Nationalist religous Zionistis (which Yigal Amir) was.

Like Al Qaeda who have no hesitation in killing Muslims after declaring them heretics if they don't share their idelogy, nationalist fanatic Zionists kill their own too by declaring anti Zionist Jews as 'rodef'. Yigal Amir did that.
