A President and first lady who still care about the United States

This picture was taken at the dedication of the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania last year (Hat Tip: Jack W). This couple is always proud of America and were long before he was elected President and long after he ended his term in office. Those emotions sure don't look fake.

What, you expected the Obama's?

In other news, President Obama gave a September 11 interview with DJ Laz on Florida's WRMA-FM - a man I never heard of until I started writing this post. Laz is known as the 'pimp with the limp.'
The two talked tunes, TV, football and top topics of the 2012 campaign. Obama did not mention the terror attacks that took place 11 years ago today, a fact his critics were quick to point out.

He “avoided talking about 9/11 on 9/11′s anniversary, but made time to mock the Dolphins bad record,” noted the Miami Herald.

Some Republicans circulated a link to the Herald article to claim that Obama was being disrespectful of the anniversary with the lighthearted banter and inappropriately injected politics into what has traditionally been an apolitical day.

It turns out, however, that President Obama was not speaking live. The interview had been pre-taped and was supposed to air on Monday, an Obama campaign official told ABC News.
I will guarantee you that the Bush's thought about 9/11 on 9/9 and 9/10 too. In fact, I am sure they think about it every day of the year.

The contrast could not be greater.
