Democrats turn down Cardinal Dolan, get 20,000 Muslims instead

I have previously reported that the Democrats have invited 20,000 radical Muslims to take part in their national convention. The flip side is that they turned down the opportunity to have an invocation delivered by Timothy Cardinal Dolan, who is also speaking to the Republican National Convention (Hat Tip: Lance K).
Considered by many to be the most powerful Catholic cleric in the United States, New York's Timothy Cardinal Dolan has already accepted the invitation by the Republican National Convention to deliver the Benediction next week at the GOP gathering in Florida.

The Cardinal "tipped off" the Democrats "a few weeks ago" to inform them he had accepted the Republican invitation, and was thusly offering the same to the Democrats.

As reported by The New York Post:

"President Obama turned down a chance to have Timothy Cardinal Dolan deliver a prayer at the Democratic National Convention after Dolan told Democrats he would be 'grateful' to deliver a blessing in Charlotte."

According to The Post, Cardinal Dolan spokesman Joseph Zwilling said during an interview:

"He wanted to make sure that they knew that this was not a partisan act on his part and that he would be just as happy and grateful to accept an invitation from the Democrats as he would to have received one from the Republicans."

According to Zwilling, "He has not been contacted by them” since."
How many Catholics will pull the lever for Obama anyway?
