Heads will roll: 'Palestinian Authority' blamed for 'east' Jerusalem hospital going broke

I've mentioned many times on this blog how both Jews and Arabs are treated in Israeli hospitals. I probably should have mentioned that when residents of the 'Palestinian Authority' are treated, the 'Palestinian Authority' is supposed to - but generally doesn't - pay the bills.

But at least Israeli hospital administrators can console themselves with the knowledge that the 'Palestinian Authority' doesn't pay the bills at 'Palestinian' hospitals either.

In fact, one hospital has grown so frustrated with its financial position that it has gone public with the accusation that the 'Palestinian Authority' doesn't pay, a step that could result in serious bodily harm to whoever said it.
The hospital administration and employees union accuse the Palestinian Authority of failing to pay for patients receiving medical treatment, leading to a large financial deficit in the hospital budget.

"Al-Maqasid Hospital is supposedly the main recipient of patients referred by the PA ministry of health from the West Bank, Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip," a statement said.

"However, the ministry has failed to pay for the cases referred and as a result the hospital ran into huge debts. We had to borrow tens of millions from local banks and pay interests, and since we couldn't pay it back, banks are refusing to give us loans anymore."

The statement was signed by Dr. Arafat al-Hidmi, head of Al-Maqasid charitable society, Dr. Bassam Abu Libdah, director of the hospital, and Dr. Ali al-Husseini, secretary of the union of employees.

Al-Maqasid hospital in the Mount of Olives was established in 1968 to receive patients from the West Bank and Gaza as an economical alternative to Israeli hospitals.
I'm shocked. Just shocked.

Equally likely is that the PA does pay, but the money ends up in some PA official/officials pockets.

If they followed Sharia law in dealing with the PA, there'd be hardly any PA officials who'd still have their right hands.

Just hit up Obama for another 192 million dollars. No one seriously expects Arabs to manage their own affairs. That's just laughable.
