Go and figure: 75% of Egyptians don't want a war with Israel
My apologies for a much longer break than expected. No, I am not traveling. Yet.A survey done by the Menachem Begin Heritage Center shows that Egyptians don't want war with Israel by a margin of 75-18.
As the Egyptian people ready themselves to choose new leadership, and following the Arab Spring, the survey by Jerusalem’s Menachem Begin Heritage Center found that 75% of respondents prefer peace with Israel — although 18% prefer war.And my guess is that the main reason for those numbers is that most Egyptians don't believe they could win a war against Israel right now.
The poll, reported on Channel 2 on Monday night, also found 93% of Egyptians believe that the peace with Israel is a cold one, and that 80% want it to remain that way.
According to the report, a slight majority of 56% believe it is important to continue with the established peace treaty.
What could go wrong?

Thereby showing again, in the absence of honor, good will and enlightened self-interest in Israel's largest neighbor, the supreme value to Israel of military deterrence.
