Wolves and sheep to live together?

In an earlier post, I reported that the Syrian rebels want to open negotiations with Hezbullah, and quipped that the report ought to quiet calls in Kadima and Labor to support the Syrian rebels. The MK I really had in mind with that quip was Yitzchak (Buji) Herzog of Labor, but I didn't have the time to find a link. On Thursday morning, Herzog provided one.
Labor Party Knesset Member Isaac Herzog says Syrian opposition leaders have told him they want peace with Israel after Syrian President Bashar Assad falls.

Herzog said Wednesday that the Syrian opposition wants to "be friends" with Israel. He refused to name his sources because he said they fear retribution by Assad. He said they are aligned with the main rebel factions in Syria.

There was no confirmation from the Syrian opposition figures to Herzog's remarks.
Or maybe those sources - assuming that they exist - fear retribution by other rebel sources. Somehow, negotiating with Hezbullah and negotiating with Israel at the same time seem irreconcilable. At least until wolves and sheep start living together.
