If the UN will support whatever the 'Palestinians' want, why should they ever negotiate with us'?
Russian UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin announced his country's total capitulation to the 'Palestinians' on Tuesday. The former superpower had this to say regarding his country's position on 'Palestinian statehood.'“We will, of course, be voting for any of the Palestinians’ proposals,” Vitaly Churkin said, according to AFP.And the Israeli response?
“But I must say that we are not pushing them into it. We are saying that ‘whatever you decide to do, we will support you,’” he said.
Russia had previously expressed support for the Palestinian statehood bid, but had not stated explicitly that it would vote in favor of UN recognition of a Palestinian state. China came out in support of the bid last month.
Israeli officials said that while they were not surprised by the decision, Churkin’s comment that Russia would support whatever the Palestinians decided reflected both the sentiment among the Palestinian’s automatic majority in the UN, and was indicative of one of the problems Israel faced in trying to move forward with the Palestinians. You think Russia's Chechen Muslim problem might have something to do with this?
If the Palestinians get the sense that the world will support whatever they put forward, then why should they negotiate with Israel? one official asked.
If only the world still had a superpower. Well, actually it does. But it's 'led' by a 96-pound weakling who is leading from behind.

So the vote will mean the end of the Quartet, and not just the Oslo 'process'. And of the 1949 armistice agreements and UNSCR242.
Whoever gave the rabid hoard called the General Assembly this kind of power?
Well, another reason to support Pali UDI:
No Jews in Palestine, evah!

Somebody on one of your other posts recommended winding down Israeli connections in Egypt, then just saying "yes, dear" to them as they sink themselves into the sand.
I think that applies to the endless string of agreements re the PA. Because, if I were them and wanted to delete Israel, I would want the agreements abrogated so that there is NOTHING in writing that says I can't move forward until I stop killing Israelis, shooting rockets, blowing up busses. The PA manages to operate in the media as if their murdering of Israelis doesn't even happen or is just how things are. But I do think the PA sometimes runs into trouble in the international structures because they won't stop murdering. No one will admit it, but I do think some reasonable people see these things. So don't let them off the hook by deleting the only things (i.e., all these agreements that didn't work) that actually spell out that the PA should stop killing.
