Fatah calls mass marches for Wednesday the 21st

In a bid to ensure that everyone gets all riled up over its 'statehood' bid, the Fatah terror organization (note that this time it is not officially the 'Palestinian Authority') has called for spontaneous demonstrations in 'city centers.'
In its statement, the Fatah council called for turning September 21 into a day of “national struggle” in support of the PA leadership’s statehood bid at the UN.

The statement called on Palestinians to stage “political” marches at 12 p.m. in all city centers.

Fatah spokesman Osama Qawassmeh urged all Palestinians to “assume their natural and pioneering role in making history and building the future” as the world is about to witness the birth of a Palestinian state.

“The president is going to the UN carrying with him the trusteeship of the refugees, Jerusalem, martyrs, prisoners and the aspirations of our people to achieve freedom and independence,” he said.
There's just one small problem: Most 'Palestinians' aren't very interested in a state.
Palestinians want their leaders to focus on creating jobs and improving health care and education, but almost none see the current drive for a unilateral declaration of statehood as a top priority, a new poll sponsored by The Israel Project has found.

In the poll (Charts, Frequency Questionnaire) of 1,010 Palestinians (353 in Gaza and 656 in the West Bank) conducted this month by Stanley Greenberg of Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research with Palestinian research partner, Palestinian Center for Public Opinion, respondents were asked to name the top two priorities for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. More than 80 percent cited creating new jobs, while only 4 percent identified current Palestinian efforts to declare Palestinian statehood via the United Nations. In the effort to create those jobs, providing microfinance that can give seed money for starting new companies was cited by 44 percent as the most helpful potential action.
What if they held a demonstration and nobody came?

Heh.
