Israel's new Hebrew 'Palestinian' daily? UPDATE: Headline scrubbed
"3 days of mutual attacks"? Sounds like Haaretz with the good old 'cycle of violence' to me. And don't blame Yaakov Katz or Khaled Abu Toameh. They don't write the headlines - the editors do. Time to cancel our subscription.Actually, we tried many times to cancel our JPost hard copy subscription (it's rarely read except on the Sabbath anyway). Every time, their circulation department cuts the price and begs us to stay. But this time I decided I've had it. I don't have to waste money to read Haaretz-like reporting.
JPost is apparently not the only paper in Israel that can't get the message that people don't want to read them anymore. Haaretz has the same problem.
But this time, apparently a lot of people have had it. Mrs. Carl (in whose name the subscription is) called them and this time they didn't even argue. They said we're obligated for another two months because of our subscription term, and would we like the Wall Street Journal for the same price. Needless to say, I jumped at the opportunity. Aside from being a much better paper, if the Journal's terms are the same here as in the US, having a hard copy subscription gives you the right to get behind the pay wall (JPost doesn't). Let's see what we get in the morning, and then I'll try the pay wall.
Someone please let me know when Yisrael haYom has an English edition. There has to be at least one paper in this country in English that represents the views of the vast majority of English speakers in Israel.
UPDATE 2:08 PM

Great work. The headline has now been scrubbed of the word "mutual." Sometimes, canceling a subscription pays.

Cool! Yoram Ettinger has a column there! Yoram used to live in the wild west borderland in fly over country, USA... so he has a fantastic perspective of the links in expectations between the areas! Remember, the U.S. govt has been uparming the drug armies, who are hacking off heads and otherwise killing people along the U.S./Mexico border, not to mention all over Mexico.
