Does Bibi read this blog?

So maybe Prime Minister Netanyahu reads my blog too.

When the Government Press Office put out its announcement threatening journalists with 10-year bans for going to cover the flotilla, I suggested that they should put them on Navy boats and let them cover it from there. Well, guess what.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who was reportedly surprised by a news report Sunday that the Government Press Office - a division of the Prime Minister's Office - had sent a letter to foreign journalists warning against covering the upcoming flotilla to Gaza from the boats themselves, essentially revoked the warning on Monday.

The Prime Minister's Office said in a statement that Netanyahu instructed the appropriate authorities "to formulate a special procedure regarding foreign journalists that participate in the flotilla." Additionally, the PMO announced that Israeli and international media will be allowed to cover the flotilla from Navy vessels.
Sounds like a smart move to me. As to the 'journalists' on the flotilla, I'd treat them like anyone else.

I don't like this. This is not a Royal Wedding or an Opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. This is attempt to breach the naval blockade, an act of war, for God's sake! I don't think this is a wise idea (and I don't believe those foreign corespondents who will be on Israeli Navy vessels will produce a single word of truth either).

Reporters who side with the enemy should be sanctioned.

Freedom of the press has its limits. It doesn't give journalists license to endanger a country's sovereignty or its security.

Don't they understand that concept in the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem?

What could go wrong indeed
