Breaking: Syrian state TV denying reports of defecting army officers

Lebanon's Naharnet reported an hour ago, citing a report on Al-Arabiya that

Some members of the Syrian army’s 1st division have reportedly defected in the Damascus suburb of al-Kiswah amid reports of an exchange of gunfire between the army and security forces.

Naharnet reported a few moments ago that

Syria’s state TV denied reports of defections in the ranks of the army’s 1st division in Damascus.

Hmmm.
