Great news: Arabs in 'east' Jerusalem putting up signs with old street names
After Israel liberated 'east' Jerusalem in 1967 ('east' Jerusalem actually refers to several neighborhoods north, south and east of the former armistice line), many street names were changed to names that are more appropriate for a united city. Now, Arabs are going around putting up street signs in Arabic and English with the old names of the streets in 'east' Jerusalem. And of course,
no one is stopping them (Hat Tip:
Will).
The organization Aafaq Al-Quds has begun erecting signs bearing the original Arabic names of Palestinian streets and neighborhoods in East Jerusalem as part of its campaign of resistance against the Judaization of the city. Yesterday, April 9, a sign reading "Farouk Street," after the epithet of Islamic caliph 'Omar bin Al-Khattab, was erected south of Jerusalem's Old City, close to the Jabel Mukaber neighborhood, where the caliph is said to have cried out "Allahu Akbar" on setting out to capture the city.
What could go wrong?

This creeping Arab occupation of any part of Jerusalem must be nipped in the bud. How about a nice public protest of the mayor's office, etc.? Pulling down or spray painting the sign might help, too.
The Israeli government is terrified of world opinion. Its run by men who are not built of strong stuff.
That's why the Arabs can brazenly challenge Israeli rule in Jerusalem. They know nothing will happen to them.
Palis, Palis, Palis, can't live with them, can't cover them with horseradish and matza brie.
