Helen Thomas' comeuppance
I thought of putting a different headline on this story, but I decided not to stoop to Helen Thomas' level.Alana Goodman tells the story of how the Society of Professional Journalists retired the Helen Thomas Lifetime Achievement Award - ironically led by an Israeli-born President whose father and grandfather did try to return to Poland after the Holocaust and were run out of town.
Alana has highlights of the story here. For those of you who want the (much) longer version with input from Thomas' defenders, the longer story is here.
Bottom line: Thomas cried because the Jewish media was so 'happy' to see her go. Yes, the woman is obsessed with Jews and Zionists (and she claims that she distinguishes between them).
