Roger Simon interviews the Sandmonkey

Here's an interview that Roger Simon conducted with the Egyptian blogger Sandmonkey, whose blog I have linked many times on this blog. It's a sound-only Skype call, and you can listen in.

Let's go to the audiotape.

I'd trust him to be in charge of Egypt. But he's not a candidate (as far as I know). His most recent post, which was done today, is here.

Note what he says about Israel being blamed by the Egyptian government.... And also what he says about the Muslim Brotherhood toward the end - about which I can only hope and pray that he is right.

Almost forgot to mention - Roger talks about how he reached the Sandmonkey here.

Very interesting eye-witness testimony. A couple of things thou...

People aren't worried about the Muslim Brotherhood leading the protests, I think its been said in quite a few places that the fear is over the Muslim Brotherhood taking power after elections. So we could go quite a long way before disaster strikes.

The other thing about Al Jazeera, this guy underestimates it. Al Jazeera was behind the PaliLeaks nonsense (an attempt to provoke in the West Bank what we're seeing in Egypt).

Al Jazeera is based in Qatar, many of the MB fled to Qatar after the assassination of Sadat in '81. Also too, Qatar shares gas reserves with Iran in the Persian Gulf. A connection? Too many to dismiss...

We def know Iran is backing the MB in Egypt though.

So my question for Sandmonkey is... if the Mubarak people are voted off the island, we assume that within some short time the Muslim Brotherhood will run amuck, both within Egypt and outside. Is that ok with Sandmonkey? And if not, what does he suggest as far as Sharia imposition? How will he and his friends block them? Remember, the mullahs won because they were willing to slaughter people after they got rid of the Shah. You don't think the Muslim Brotherhood (or their progeny, like Hamas and AQ) will ramp it up?

Yea, I've got a lot of respect for Sandmonkey as well. He's got guts and it looks like he's ok, or at least I hope so.

After listening to the tape, I've lost my little bit of sorrow for the plight of Mr. anti-semite President for life Mubarak. His media organs are using crude anti-semitic fabrications of Zionist influence as the impetus to topple Mubarak. Israel working with Hamas to topple Mubarak? Who could believe that crap.

SandMonkey may be not seeing the MB for the power I think they are, but he's got my vote for sure for President of Egypt. Here is a guy who actually deserves the Nobel prize for bravery. I don't think the bulk of the impoverished, uneducated Egyptian populace has his wisdom, but I WOULD LOVE TO BE WRONG!
