He once ran for Prime Minister

Former Haifa Mayor Amram Mitzna was once the Labor party candidate for Prime Minister. He ran against Ariel Sharon on a platform of 'disengagement' from Gaza. At least he told the truth about his plans, unlike Sharon.

Today, Mitzna is disengaged from reality.
Former Labor Party leader Amram Mitzna said Sunday that, "Most Israelis understand that we must return to the '67 borders and divide Jerusalem."

Speaking during a meeting of leftist Israelis with Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, Mitzna added, "They understand, even if they don't support the move."
Most Israelis would disagree quite strongly with Mitzna.

That's why Amram Mitzna lost in a landslide. What he doesn't understand is the Palestinians would be happy to accept an Israeli surrender but they would never make peace with Israel. What a useful idiot.

I'm glad he was never elected Prime Minister.
