Great news: Google to invest 'millions' in 'Palestine'

Much more here.

Here's my prediction: Google will continue to be interested in 'Palestine' so long as there is a Jewish state of Israel that is the 'Palestinians' enemy. Fortunately for the 'Palestinians,' that is likely to be a long time.

What could go wrong?

Be happy. Think of all the money they'll steal from Soros. There's no bottomless pit like their corruption.

Carl, perhaps I'm reading to much into your post, but my takeaway is simple: the progressive left(which I would tend to include myself with)cares only about Palestine in the context of Israel.

Where are they on the subjugation, slavery, murder and rape in Sudan? now in Darfur? Where are they on human rights violation in Saudi Arabia, hell about in Egypt? And where the f@56 they in Rwanda? Pardon my french, but nothing else matters except Israel.

This is why I cannot stomach much of leftist critique of Israel(not that Israel can do no wrong), but it a matter of context, one of comparison, of being held to the same standard.

I am amazed at blogs like TalkingPostMemo or the DailyKos but much more so on TPM which routinely has bloggers on who blast Israel. Fine. But where is the mention of Darfur? Is anybody else in the world acting badly??? How about Robert Mugabe; seems to me he has some blood on his hands.

I can make a prediction to you(although you should keep in mind I'm a jaundiced guy): if the entire state of Israel moved en masse Monday to the United States, it wouldn't matter if there was a massive Shia invasion of Israel, devouring every Palestinian in sight, or a plague afflicting the arabs... suddenly, as if the skys opened, all would be forgotten, and the Palestinians would no longer warrant attention from the left, or anybody else. I have said this privately to Palestinian doctors in the United States and they agree.

They are used as deflecting shields for all of the collective bad governance of the arab world, coupled with all of the faux guilt in the west which is not 'all' anti-semitism, but something deeper... a guilt over what happened to the Jews by the Germans in the second world war, watched, of not cheered, on by much of the so-called enlightened world. To reduce Israel to Nazis is instructive for it allows the Germans or anybody else to say, "see, you're are just as bad as us." Of course, this statement is hidden deep within the psyche of the west.

Carl - ironic since your page IS hosted by Google. Would you have to give it up for Google to do business with the Palestinians? Its time to start thinking about backing up all your data either offline or to a number of servers somewhere.

With them, you never know when your blogging could become more than a nuisance for them.

What could go wrong indeed

LOL! Did you notice the 2 coins shown in the Google logo are i.e. Israeli coins - there is Hebrew writing on them. But I suppose they were so excited to see the word Palestine on them that they forgot that Palestine was the name of the Jewish state before Israel came into being.

So much for Pali hi-tech. Idiots.
