Great news: Turkish TV to air pro-'Palestinian' 'documentary'
Just a reminder that I'm in Boston (although this is being scheduled anyway).Turkish television is to air a six-part 'documentary' about the children of 'Palestine' starting Sunday.
The lives of the children of Palestine, arguably one of the world’s worst regions of conflict for decades, will come under the spotlight on the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation’s TRT Arabic channel this weekend when it starts broadcasting a new documentary series titled “The Rage of the Angels.”And you can bet that Hamas and Fatah and the suicide bombers will not be blamed for the children's loss of innocence. Even though they deserve it.
The six-episode series, beginning this Sunday, is directed by Turkish photojournalist Sedat Aral, the brother of well-known war photographer and documentary maker Coşkun Aral.
The series looks at the lives of people who were born and grew up in Palestine and how, despite their young age, they never had the chance to live their childhood in innocence.
Episode one tells the story of Ramzi, a Palestinian man whose first brush with conflict was at the age of 8. For many years he fought, throwing stones at Israeli tanks and troops, just to be able to get back the home that his family had been forced out of. Now, through his academy of music, he tries to offer an alternative life to the new generation of Palestinian children. The first episode will be aired on Sunday, Dec. 26, at 7:30 p.m. (GMT17:30) on TRT Arabic. www.trtarabic.com
