Poll: Freeze won't work, freeze anyway, don't freeze Jerusalem

How's this for cynicism? By wide margins, Israelis believe that an extension of the 'settlement freeze' will not lead to peace and that the 'freeze' should not be extended to Jerusalem. But by a narrow margin, they believe we ought to do it anyway.
A poll Thursday said that 68% of Israelis do not believe that another building freeze in Judea and Samaria will bring a deal with the PA closer. The poll was conducted by the Dahaf organization on behalf of the Knesset channel.

However, 51% of Israelis said that a freeze should be implemented, at least under the conditions proposed by the U.S. - a three month freeze accompanied by planes and military assistance. Forty five percent said that no freeze should be implemented, even with the benefits package. In addition, 73% said that building should not be halted in Jerusalem, under any circumstances.
Sorry, but I don't believe we should do the freeze. At some point, you have to say no, or the 'international community' will just keep cutting slices off that salami. The time has come to say no.

Agreed. If Israel is not going to say "no" now, its never going to say "no" the next time a bigger price is asked of the country.

And yes, Jews are still stupid and oblivious to reality!

What could go wrong indeed
