Your tax dollars at work: 'Palestinian Authority' sponsors the wedding and the honeymoon

The 'Palestinian Authority' is sponsoring a 'mass wedding' in Nablus on Thursday.
Taysir Nasrallah, the general coordinator for the event, said officials were working hard to prepare for the day. He said the event's patron, President Mahmoud Abbas, had pledged cash to each of the grooms, as well as gifts like furniture and home wares donated by local companies.

Dresses for brides were also taken care of by planners, Nasrallah said, in addition to possible funds for honeymoons to Jordan, though the official said the latter detail was not yet confirmed.

The official said that spots for the wedding remained, and urged couples to register and enjoy a traditional mass wedding in Palestine.

With wedding prices rising in urban Nablus, Nasrallah said the group event was meant to help starting couples in establishing their homes, by providing for the costs of the ceremony.
Isn't it funny that we don't hear of the supposedly rich Israeli government doing things like this? And certainly not sponsoring honeymoons abroad....

Aren't you glad your taxes that pay for assistance to the 'Palestinian Authority' are being put to good use?
